The game is divided into 5 chapters, each of which is made up of a number of levels, for a total of 15 levels. In each level the player must advance by defeating the enemies he encounters along the way and collecting the useful items to progress, within a set time limit. At the end of each level there is a boss to defeat. The final level of each chapter is typically short and with a more challenging battle.

The main protagonist's basic weapons are a paralyzing gun and a spear. Hitting enemies with the paralyzing gun will freeze them for a few seconds. In the meantime, they are harmless and can also be used as platforms to reach hard-to-reach areas. However, the paralyzing gun does no damage to enemies. The basic strategy to defeat enemies is to freeze them with the gun, then stab them with the spear while they are helpless. This makes it easier to proceed, however killing enemies while they are frozen will only get an item about 10% of the time. By eliminating an enemy while it is not frozen, you will get an item with certainty, so after doing a little practice it is better to freeze the enemies only when strictly necessary. Stronger enemies and bosses may require more gun shots to freeze - the lower their remaining energy, the fewer shots it takes. In the course of the game it is then possible to obtain items that allow you to upgrade the freeze gun and extend the spear. It is also possible to collect the ammunition of four special weapons, which can be selected in the appropriate screen. There are also some vehicles that can be piloted for a certain period of time, after defeating the enemy driving. Killing enemies and collecting certain items will score points. By reaching a high score, you can get extra lives.

Your life energy is indicated in the status bar to the left. When hit by an enemy, the protagonist's vital energy decreases. By running out of vital energy you will lose a life. You will also immediately lose a life by falling into a gap or when time runs out. When you lose a life, you will have to restart the level from the beginning and you will lose all the upgrades collected. If you lose all your lives, it's game over. You will have the option to continue the game from the last level reached using the "continue" option, but all upgrades and special weapons collected up to that point will be lost and your score will be reset.
