A very interesting first hole with a lot of choices.
Tee Off: First shot on this course and there are already several options. First and easiest, a shot to the elevated area before the water is a pretty easy bet which sets up a strategic follow-up. You could also try landing a shot to the right over the water hazard, but if you do, be cautious of putting the ball behind a tree. Finally, landing on the island is enticing but risky, as there is little room for error and sending the ball into the water will add a stroke to your score. If you do hit a good shot on the island, the approach will be a cinch.
Drive: A good drive shot will land the ball on the blob of fairway below the green, giving lots of options for the approach.
Approach: This green has a nice flat area in the center which makes draining a putt require only a slight uphill shot at the worst, depending on the location of the pin.
