Cavalry is the most expensive and most mobile of your army. They can take out musketmen very easily because of their mobility; while infantry might have to slowly march across the battlefield to reach the enemy marksmen, taking many casualties in the process, cavalry can approach much more quickly. However, cavalry has to watch out for pikemen or halberds since they can stop the horse with their long polearms. Sometimes, cavalry is armed with a pistol, making them excellent for hit and run shots.
Cavalry is most reliably recruited from Cavalry Commanders in cities. In taverns, two types of cavalrymen can be found: Mercenary Horsemen or Mercenary Light Cavalrymen. Cavalry can also be hired from mercenary camps.
