Puzzles[edit]

Each puzzle, except for the tutorial, features a Pokémon that is caught when the puzzle is completed. Their size is either 10 × 10, 15 × 15, or 20 × 15. They also have three or four missions that reward Picrites or mural tiles. Puzzles are divided into 30 areas. Completing a puzzle will reveal a path to the next puzzle(s) or area. Unlocking the next area requires Picrites.

Standard Mode puzzles use the standard Picross hints. Alt-World Mode puzzles use the Mega Picross hints where some numbers may span two rows or two columns. Filled in squares for those hints must connect vertically or horizontally and must span the two rows or columns.

Puzzles that have a Mega-Evolved Pokémon require the Mega Pencil in order to play. It costs 500 Picrites and only needs to be purchased once.

Picrites[edit]

Picrites are rare stones with magical powers and the main currency used to unlock things. They are earned by completing puzzles and missions, and earning medals. They were also purchasable in the Nintendo eShop, but that function is no longer available.

Party[edit]

There are five party slots for Pokémon that can be equipped in order to use their skills when solving a puzzle. Initially, only one slot is available after completing the tutorial, Area 00. More slots can be unlocked with Picrites. In order to use a Pokémon's skill, its size must either match or be greater than the puzzle size. There are restrictions on which Pokémon can be equipped. Only one Mega-Evolved Pokémon can be in the party. The Mega-Evolved and original version of a Pokémon cannot both be in the party.

Daily Training[edit]

Once per day, you can take on a challenge of 5 consecutive 7 × 7 puzzles. Completing all of them in under 2 minutes will reward bonus Picrites.
