SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron is fairly simple to figure out, but if you don't want to have to think for yourself, or if you're a little confused, then review the basic elements below.
Power-ups[edit]
Throughout the stages you'll find power-ups laying around or hovering in place. Touching them will give you one of the following benefits:
Power-up | Effect |
---|---|
Red Pepper | Restores a small amount of strength. |
Milk | Replenishes all of your strength. |
? | Increases experience. |
1-Up | Gives you an extra life. |
Combat[edit]
Fighting in this game is very simple: shoot to kill, and don't get touched. However, there is an exception to the rule as each character has a special move that can be used to damage an enemy with a flying melee attack.
Experience[edit]
This normally comes as a surprise, but in SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, you can level up your character so that the damage increases significantly.
Level | Weapon |
---|---|
1 | Pea Shooter |
5 | Spider Web Missile |
10 | Cement Machine Gun |
15 | Octopus Missile |
20 | Pincer Missile |
25 | Slicer Disc |
Game options[edit]
At the title screen of the game you can select the options menu where you'll be able to toggle the following:
- Rank: this adjusts the health of enemies and how much damage you receive.
- 'Time: this affects how much time you have per area to move on. Normal is generally four minutes per area.
