| [[File:Pokemon 037Vulpix.png|left]]While Gold players are gaining the ability to collect a {{bp|Growlithe}} for the first time, Silver players can now collect Vulpix. While not as powerful as Growlithe, Vulpix, and {{bp|Ninetales}} are a bit quicker, and sometimes that makes all the difference. They haven't changed much, but at least now Ninetales keeps learning moves after it's evolved.

While not as powerful as Growlithe, Vulpix, and {{bp|Ninetales}} are a bit quicker, and sometimes that makes all the difference. Their stats are average to low with Special Defense and Speed being its best stats. Its HP stat is quite low and so keeping Vulpix alive will become a task.
Best to level it up to 31, get Flamethrower then use the Fire Stone from trainer Alan.  They haven't changed much, but at least now Ninetales learns something after it's evolved which is Firespin at level 43.
