Unfortunately, you can't get it as a kid, you have to be an adult and also have the Scarecrow song to pull it off. Definitely don't forget the hookshot or longshot, or you won't be able to reach it at all! (Alternately you can backflip into it.)
By equipping a Deku Stick, standing directly in front of the token, Z-targeting it, and pressing B, it is possible to obtain the Golden Skulltula token as Young Link.
