You begin the adventure at the helicopter landing pad on C-Island. Walk left until you reach a village, enter it. This is the village of Coralcola. Talk to all the villagers to learn more about your uncle Dr. J, the village of Caralcola and Southern Cross. After talking to everyone, enter the large thatched hut on the left to meet the village chief. The chief will tell you that your uncle has been abducted and will ask for your help. He will also give you your first weapon, the yo-yo. Finally, he will tell you to take the tunnel in the village, which leads to your uncle's lab. Then go to the hut in the upper right and talk to the guard at the entrance. If you've already talked to all the villagers, he'll let you enter. Inside you will meet the shaman, who will give you more information about your uncle and warn you of what awaits you ahead. The game will save automatically and you will start the first dungeon of the game.

1) Go north. 2) In the real first room of the dungeon you will find only some Jellies. Jumping on the green tiles is useless. Go north. 3) Room similar to the previous one. Kill the enemies and exit north. 4) Here you can start getting some practice jumping on tiles and understanding the game mechanics. By jumping on the lower right tile, a switch will appear. Jump on it to open the door. You will also encounter a new slightly tougher enemy, the Rattus. Kill hit and exit north. 5) Follow the path killing the Rattus you come across. Then proceed by jumping on the tiles. Right in front of the locked door is one that will pop the switch. Press it and exit north. 6) Here are just a few enemies. Go north. 7) A room full of tiles, with some slugs. You can easily find the switches that will open the passages to the right and left, but you won't find anything useful in those rooms, they are dead ends. Instead, you need to reach the tile at the top left. By pressing it, a switch will appear which, when pressed, will bring up a secret passage to the north. Go out that way. 8) Jump on all the tiles, to open the chest and the door to the north. In the chest you will find 25 flame torches, which will be very useful to you shortly. 9) Here you will meet the Noctos for the first time. After killing all enemies the door will open. Exit north. 10) Another slightly creepy enemy will appear here, the Looper. Take them out carefully, luring them in your direction and killing them from the side, then jump all over the tiles to the north. You will find three switches, which will allow you to open the chest nearby, where you will find 25 more torches, the door to the north and a secret passage to the east. Go through the narrow passage to the east and exit that way. 11) You will enter a room where you will find a medicine on an islet. Then jump to the lower right tile to make a switch appear. Pressing it will open another secret passage to the north. Go there. 12) You will find yourself in another very similar room, where you will find another medicine to collect! You can also jump on the tiles here and make another secret passage to the north appear, but if you try to enter that side, you will die immediately, drowning in a completely flooded room (who wants too much nothing squeezes). Then go back to where you got the torches and this time exit north. 13) Here you will meet only a few enemies to defeat. Kill them all and exit north.

14) Here you meet C-serpent, the boss of this dungeon. In front of you are four tiles: one to the right, one in the middle, one to the left, and one right in front of the snake's head. The boss remains essentially stationary in the same position for the duration of the fight. Every few seconds, it opens his mouth to spit fireballs, which move in a straight line. The difficulty of the fight is that to damage the boss you have to hit it while its mouth is open, without being hit in turn. The best way to do this is to stay on the central tile and use your flame torches to attack it from a distance, then quickly move to the side tiles to avoid being hit by the fireballs. Timing is everything. If you get hit and your life energy starts to run low, heal yourself with the medicines you found. It takes about 18 hits to kill the boss, so if you've kept your flame torches you shouldn't have too many problems. Attacking the boss with the yo-yo is instead very risky, as you would have to jump on the tile in front of its head and hit it at close range: doing this without being hit by the fireballs is extremely difficult.

Once the boss is defeated, continue north. 15) Jump on the only tile present to make the switch appear and open the door. 16) Climb the ladder to return to the overworld. The game will save automatically.

On the island map, follow the only possible path, until you meet Baboo, your uncle's assistant. He will tell you about your uncle’s sub, known as Sub-C. He will also give you the Id Code, which will be automatically memorized. Proceed to the beach eand entert the lab. Here you will board the sub and meet the on-board computer Nav-Com. After entering the code, you will automatically depart with the submarine, while the inhabitants of the island greet you. The first chapter ends here, the game will save automatically.
