Upgrade tables

Alright so, all the tables should conform to a standard, please look at the Killer7's, it has the additional purchase price, exclusive, subtotals and total cost lines which need to be combined into all of the others and filled with data. The Handcannon table is missing some data, so can someone please retrieve that and add it? --Notmyhandle 02:29, 30 November 2006 (CST)

We are also missing the misc items like Mine Thrower, PLR, Rocket Launcher etc. I think we should also add an inventory footprint line to each table for quick reference. --Notmyhandle 03:29, 30 November 2006 (CST)

TMP does more dmg than handguns

How can they say the TMP doesn't compare in raw power to the normal handgun? I totally disagree. Given all regular upgrades to all weapons, except their exclusives, it does more raw damage than ANY handgun. Want to test for yourself?

First, let's say "T" is the time it takes a weapon to empty its magazine and reload. T = (firing speed x capacity) + reload speed

Now, "D" is damage done by a full magazine. D = firepower x capacity

Finally, Power (P) is damage per second, the total damage done by a magazine (D), divided by the total time to use all its bullets and reload (T). P = D/T

So let's see how TMP does:

T = (firing speed x capacity) + reload speed = (0.1 x 250) + 1.17 = 26.17 D = firepower x capacity = 1.2 x 250 = 300 P = D/T = 300/26.17 = 11.46350783 So it does an average of 11.46 damage per second.

How does a Blacktail compare?

T = (firing speed x capacity) + reload speed = (0.27 x 35) + 0.83 = 10.28 D = firepower x capacity = 3.0 x 35 = 105 P = D/T = 105/10.28 = 10.21400778 An average of 10.21 damage per second.

So a Blacktail does in average less damage per second than a TMP. And that's the most damaging handgun! All other handguns don't come even close, with the normal handgun, sadly, doing LESS THAN HALF the damage per second a TMP does.

Just change the statement on the page. I agree, the TMP is much more useful than a pistol, especially when multiple enemies are close by. I would not waste my ammo with a TMP trying to headshot from long range, which the pistols seem to be better for when a rifle is overkill or if you aren't carrying a rifle. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 20:26, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

The Mine Throwers usefulness

while the guide says the Mine Thrower is the worst weapon in the game, this is far from true. while it is not recommended for first time players the Mine Thrower can destroy groups of enemies if timed correctly, aim for the one in front and switch to your current handgun to slow them down (try aiming for the face or legs if they have a mask.) sometimes this wont even be necessary with the Mine Throwers upgrades.

another note: DO NOT USE THE SCOPE! it is a waste of money and time. while I said don't use this on your first playthrough I tried it when I bought the game and I made it a good chunk of the way through the Island with it. (and I bought it the first chance I got because it was so cheap) when going up against larger enemies like the Verdiguo Garrador or El Gigante get them to expose their weakness first then hit it fast! if you are too late the mine will blow up without doing much damage.(with the exception of Garrador because his weakness is always exposed.) it is also a great weapon for the dragon statues in the castle.
