The Sims Stories[edit]

The Sims Stories shouldn't be a sub-page for The Sims as it isn't an expansion pack or element of that specific game. The Sims Stories is instead another series of games from The Sims franchise. I'm going to change the link back.Sims2Guy 19:49, 13 January 2008 (CST)

I changed it because as far as I'm aware, "The Sims Stories" isn't a game in itself, so it should be a sub-page of something. What we may want to consider doing is to split Category:The Sims up into subcategories: "The Sims", "The Sims 2", "The Sims Stories" and "The Sims Stuff Packs", as the single series category is currently getting quite full. This would also mean that {{The Sims}} can be made quite a bit shorter, which would be good. For an example of what I mean, see the subcategories in {{Mario}} and Category:Mario. --DrBob (talk) 00:48, 14 January 2008 (CST)
Now I think about it, we don't actually need a page for the series. We could change it so that it links to a category, although it wouldn't be quite large. If that happens, then I think that the stuff packs article should be changed to another category. There's no information exclusive to it either. As for the templates, I'd prefer not to split it up. I could, instead mergethe PS2, Xbox, GameCube and Wii rows.Sims2Guy 01:21, 14 January 2008 (CST)
Sounds good; go for it! If you need any help, leave a message on my talk page, or catch me on IRC. :-) --DrBob (talk) 11:16, 14 January 2008 (CST)
Changed my mind. I think that the stuff packs article should by deleted. It's not actually needed for this guide and it doesn't add any new information. I'm also going to remove the link to The Sims Stories.Sims2Guy 20:14, 14 January 2008 (CST)
I've deleted the stuff packs article. The only problem now is there's a big red link on The Sims 2/Table of Contents. Are we going to replace it with a link to a "stuff packs" category (in which the stuff packs would be placed), or do something else? --DrBob (talk) 01:25, 15 January 2008 (CST)
I'm going to get rid of the linkand make the subtoc header just read Stuff Packs. Now, the stuff packs need a table of contents. Is there a way to add The Sims 2 toc and make the stuff pack section open for each packs toc?Sims2Guy 02:41, 15 January 2008 (CST)
The only way to currently do that is to have each subpack's ToC in a separate {{subtoc2}} section, as all the other expansion packs are. Otherwise, you'll have to talk to Prod about changing the {{subtoc2}} template, but I'm not sure that's such a good idea. --DrBob (talk) 13:41, 15 January 2008 (CST)

Adding to category[edit]

I know that some templates automatically add articles to categories. What's the syntax to use so that adding this template to an article will place it in Category:The Sims.Sims2Guy

Done. --DrBob (talk) 01:14, 14 April 2008 (CDT)
