Scoring in the Amazing Spider-Man is based on two things: how many screens you access and how much health you had when you accessed each screen. Every time spiderman gets to a screen, points will be added based on your current health. If you access a new screen in full health, 192 points will be added, but if damage is shown in the picture to the right, less than 192 points will be given. If your goal is solely to complete the game, then this doesn't make much of a difference, but if you are going for a high score, then it will make sense to go back to a take and heal completely before going into a new screen so maximum points will be added. Taking damage in a screen doesn't change the score, but going to the next screen in a damaged state will. Additionally, you will get 2,500 points for successfully finishing the game. There are 55 screens in total, and the first one doesn't give you any points, so the theoretical maximum score attainable is .

On some levels like "The Pits" and "Torture Chamber" it is probably impossible to enter on full health, but it's still possible to beat Aunt May's score of 10,527 if you do very well.
