The Revenge of Shinobi/Items

A variety of bonus crates can be found in each level, some hidden in the scenery. These include simple powerups such as extra shuriken or health packs, as well as special items to gain lives or extra ninjutsu attacks. Besides powerups, some crates may contain time bombs: explosives that detonate when their fuse runs out or if Joe comes too close (though he can walk out of the blast radius if the player is quick enough).

Item	Description
	Collecting this item gives the player five additional shurikens.
	This item will provide the player with ten additional shurikens.
	A small heart will restore two bars of Joe's health meter.
	A large heart will completely restore all of Joe's health meter.
	Increases Musashi's strength, giving him a sword in melee range, empowering his shurikens, and defending him against enemy projectiles while walking forward. The effects are lost after taking damage.
	When you collect this symbol, you gain one additional stock to cast Ninjitsu abilities.
	Find and collect this item to increase the number of Joe's remaining lives by one. Although considerably more hidden, it's also possible to find 2up items which grant two extra lives.
	Not an item that Joe should pick up, bombs can appear in crates and harm Joe if he is caught in their explosion.
