As in other Sims games, you are able to interact with other characters. For characters which are in a normal happy mood, you can "impress" them or give them a gift from your Pockets. Sims that are wandering around the Hotel Lobby will usually either be wanting to Check In or Check Out. Store Clerks can be interacted with by buying items from them, or selling a certain item. The only characters you cannot interact with are the Sheriff (except when you have a License Plate in your pocket or when you want to Bail one of your friends out of prison) and Tristan Legend whilst he is building a room.

Check in/out[edit]

If a sim is wandering around the Hotel Lobby, when you go near them the option to Check In might be available. By choosing this option you can check that sim into the hotel. Available rooms are represented by a set of keys. They will then tell you what day they are going to Check Out. On that day, they will be wandering around the lobby again. If you check them out, they might give you a tip (Simeloneons, that is). Otherwise, they'll just check out on their own.

Disturb[edit]

If a Sim is interacting with an item (such as sitting down, sleeping, etc) and you want to interact with them, you need to "disturb" them. But don't worry; disturbing other sims doesn't affect your relationship!

Give Gift[edit]

The action Give Gift doesn't really do much unless the sim has asked for something (i.e. rang you to say they are hungry and you are giving them some food) so don't use it too often unless your Sim is filthy rich. With this action, you can give the other sim an item from your Pockets.

Impress[edit]

You can impress sims to become friends with them and ultimately learn their secret. Each sim has a secret that you can learn once you become best friends with them.
