Controls[edit]

  • Joystick: Use the 4-way joystick to direct your Pac-Man (yellow for the first player, pink for the second), around each one of the game's forty mazes; fans of official Pac-Man games will also be outraged by the fact that if you let go of your joystick in this unofficial one, your Pac-Man will stop moving.
  • Jump Button: Use this button to make your Pac-Man jump over the enemies (if he has eaten a winged sneaker); if he has not nothing shall happen.
  • Solar Helmet Button: Use this button to make your Pac-Man fire a shot from his solar helmet (if he is wearing one); if he is not, nothing will happen.
  • 1 or 2 Player Buttons: Push these buttons to begin the game as player 1 or player 2; in a two-player game, the ghosts will chase the pink Pac-Man less than the yellow one and he'll also start closer to the hidden items on each stage (however, this does not work if one person plays alone as him).

Characters[edit]

Pac-Mans[edit]

TW Pac-Man (2P).gif

Namco's signature character needs no introduction, but for this unofficial sequel, there are two of him; Player 1 controls the original yellow Pac-Man, while Player 2 has the pink one from Hyper Pac-Man. Both players must guide their respective Pac-Mans through the mazes, and on to victory - and they must avoid contact with any of the unnamed ghosts (who only come in one colour for this!), or running out of time (for each stage has a time limit, possibly to prevent point-leeching after a solar helmet has gotten collected). As in the official Pac-Man title, Pac-Mania (which also used a Yamaha YM-2151 FM sound chip), they'll both move at a constant speed regardless of whether they are eating or not; they will also receive an extra life (they will always start out with three, because it cannot be changed) every time they eat an Extra Life powerup.

Enemies[edit]

The ghosts in this unofficial Pac-Man sequel are unnamed, and only come in one colour (purple); there are also several other types of enemies, but they all seem to behave identically. They will also turn orange, when a power pellet is eaten - and because there are no regenerators in the mazes (like those of the official Pac-Man games), they shall start out in preset positions then regenerate in them after they have been eaten or shot (but if the power pellet is still effective in the case of the former, they'll still be edible). The multiple enemy types also make it look less like an arcade game than a freeware one.

Bonus items[edit]

Regular bonus items[edit]

There are four types of regular bonus items that are either visible in plain sight or hidden in the walls of the mazes (and in the case of the latter, you shall need a solar helmet to shoot the walls they are hidden in and free them); the enemies can't move past them, and you do not have to eat them in order to clear the stage, but Cherries (which were first eaten on the first round of the original Pac-Man in 1980) are worth 1000 points, Hamburgers (which were first eaten on the fourth round of Super Pac-Man in 1982) are worth 3000, Strawberries (which were first eaten on the second round of the original Pac-Man) are worth 5000, and Eggs (which were first eaten on the fifth round of Super Pac-Man) are worth 10000. The items are shown in the gallery below.

Special bonus items[edit]

There are eight types of special bonus items that are, again, either visible in plain sight, or hidden in the walls of the mazes (and in the case of the latter you will again need the third one of them, to shoot the walls they are hidden in and free them); again, the enemies can't move past them, and you again do not have to eat them in order to clear the stage: Bombs will blow up certain parts of the maze when eaten (often revealing more bonus items), while Sunglasses will reveal the positions of any secret paths and hidden bonus items in the walls, for the current stage, Helmets will give the Pac-Man who collects them a protection from death for one touch (and the second one they collect will become a Solar Helmet, which will give them the power to fire shots at the enemies, for a short period of time), Pocket Watches will add ten seconds to the timer, Winged Sneakers will give the Pac-Man who eats them the ability to jump over the enemies (and the second one they eat shall become a High Jump which gives them the power to jump over the walls now for a short period of time), Roller Skates shall increase the speed of the Pac-Man who eats them (and the second one that they eat will become a Hyper Speed, which will make them superfast and invulnerable for a short period of time), Extra Lives will (as their name suggests) give the Pac-Man who eats them an extra life, and the Ice Cylinder, which only appears on the fortieth stage, will immediately clear the stage and give the Pac-Mans the chance to play ten extra stages (41-50) if either of them should consume it. The special bonus items are, for a second time, shown in the gallery below.
