Move lists[edit]

Hello Tape. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a candidate for the move lists project. When working on the characters, please consider inserting the information on a move lists page with the proper formatting instead of directly into the guide itself. It's fine if you want to leave the ToC the way it is, but point each character to their respective move lists page. I'll help you out if you need any assistance. Thank you. Procyon (Talk) 09:47, 16 September 2007 (CDT)

Hi again. What I actually meant was some thing similar to Move Lists/Capcom/SFA, the move list for Street Fighter Alpha. There isn't a specific description space in the moves template, but that could be added. I will work on transfering your work to the proper format later tonight. Procyon (Talk) 13:23, 16 September 2007 (CDT)
OK, Move Lists/Capcom/JBA is all set up for you to continue. A couple of things:
 1. As with the other move lists, there is a master moves list for the game, and seperate move lists for each individual character, populated with lists from every game that they appear in (see Move Lists/Capcom/Ryu for example.) That means, when you add a new character to the mast move list, you have to add to or create the respective character page. You just copy and paste the contents from the master page to the character page, but you change the header to point back to the master page. That way they link back and forth to one another. Likewise, if you make changes to an existing list on the master page, you have to manually propagate those changes to the character page or they will be out of sync.
 2. I realize your descriptions went away, and I apologize for that. Perhaps there could be a different page for move analysis or something, I don't know. I don't think it's a bad idea to have, I just didn't factor them in when designing the moves template. We can discuss ways of getting them in there.
 3. I noticed, when looking at some FAQs for the game, that a couple of moves were missing. You may wanna have a look at some of the FAQ on GameFAQs.com and double check against your own lists. Just a suggestion.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Procyon (Talk) 17:48, 16 September 2007 (CDT)
No problem, I was happy to help. One thing though, I noticed that you updated some of the moves on the Move Lists/Capcom/JBA page, but you didn't propagate the changes to the corresponding character pages (Move Lists/Capcom/Joseph and Move Lists/Capcom/Jotaro). It's an unfortunate system, but if you read point 1 above again, you'll see what I mean about keeping both pages up to date and in sync with one another. So when you get a chance, please update the Joseph and Jotaru character pages with the changes that you made to the master page. Thanks very much! Procyon (Talk) 09:56, 17 September 2007 (CDT)

Qcd[edit]

Hi Tape. I just wanted to thank you for being proactive and adding Qcd to the joystick images. It was a good add, and I had been thinking about doing it for a while, but chose to live without it. I polished up the image that you uploaded so that it has transparency and matches the 24 pixel vertical height of the other motions. I also added Qcbd (back to down), and both motions have been successfully added to the cade template, so you can invoke them using Qcd for Arcade-Stick-Qcd.png and Qcbd for Arcade-Stick-Qcbd.png. Thanks very much, and nice job on the Jojo moves! Procyon (Talk) 09:55, 9 November 2007 (CST)

Hi again. We've had a big revolution, lead in large part by Prod. At first I liked the idea of a central place for all of the move lists, but Prod convinced me of a better way to organize things. You can catch up on the entire discussion over at StrategyWiki talk:Move lists project. Check out how series like Street Fighter II and Street Fighter Alpha are organized now. I just finished the Marvel vs. Capcom series, and I am now moving on to the Darkstalkers series. Procyon (Talk) 10:21, 9 November 2007 (CST)

Tcs[edit]

Hi. Is there any reason you added the PlayStation TCS image, instead of following the semi-official convention and writing (for example) "Triangle button / Circle button / Square button". I'm worried that going the way of having such combination images would mean we'd end up with images for all 64 (?) possible combinations, which wouldn't really work. --DrBob (talk) 12:06, 9 November 2007 (CST)

What resolution are you on? Even at 640x480, using the three images looks fine to me, and doesn't go onto a second line. Is there a specific move list page which did this? --DrBob (talk) 13:02, 9 November 2007 (CST)
Well? :-) --DrBob (talk) 11:25, 12 November 2007 (CST)
I still can't see any pages where it starts linewrapping. I think that unless Procyon wants to keep the image, you should revert back to the "T or C or S" way of doing things, as it's clearer and won't require and more new images to be done in future. Sorry if this is a hassle. --DrBob (talk) 01:14, 16 November 2007 (CST)
