Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 is a game exclusive to the Sega 32X. In Japan it was released as Parasquad, but in North America it was renamed to form a connection with Sega's past hit Zaxxon and its direct sequels. In Europe, the game was released as simply Motherbase.
Instead of controlling both sideways and vertical movement there is instead a "jump" button that temporarily makes the ship fly higher. This move can also be used on supply ships and some enemies to earn upgrades. The enemies are all drawn with polygons, some taking up the whole screen, but they are untextured and cause some slowdown. There are also holes in the levels that the ship will fall into if flown over.
