Excavators are one of the two ideal tools for landscaping. If a task calls for digging a hole, chances are you'll be calling on an excavator. Although backhoes are smaller and more nimble, for anything other than the smallest holes, you'll want a proper excavator.
Smaller excavators are usually cheaper, but also can be transported much easier on trucks. When using compact vehicles on larger trailers, it may be possible to carry two construction machines at once.
Excavators appear in wheeled and tracked variants.
In addition to their excavation abilities, most excavators can also be used as cranes for medium-sized loads.
Official Description: Excavators can move large amounts of earth and are suitable for any kind of construction site. Crawlers excavators move across uneven terrain on tracks and can rotate their carriage around their own axis to move masses of earth. But mastering track vehicles takes a bit of practice. Mobile excavators offer a good mix of movement and bucket capacity on medium-sized construction sites. Only the compact excavators and compact crawler excavator offer impressively small sizes and numerous possible applications.
Crawler Excavators[edit]
Wheeled Excavators[edit]
Tracked excavators are usually much larger than wheeled ones, though wheeled ones have greater mobility. Wheeled excavators must be deployed before use, and undeployed to move.
