The Rotary drilling rig is the most challenging vehicle to use in the game. It is seldom used and should generally be rented before being purchased. It is used to drill holes straight down into the ground which is then filled with concrete.
When the drilling rig is needed to be used, the construction site will provide two drilling pipes. The one with the yellow stripe is used first - position it at the designated location. Fortunately, the drilling rig also doubles as a crane, and so can put the drilling pipe in position. Ensure the auger is all the way to the top of the drill, then lower the drill into the pipe. The pipe can then be connected to the drill, and you can then send the auger down lower to drill into the earth.
The auger can become caked with dirt. It must be disconnected from the pipe, raised out of the ground and then shaken (spun left, then right, repeatedly) until the excess dirt is removed from the drill. Place dirt far from the borehole, as dirt may fall back into the hole.
After removing the excess dirt, you may the resume drilling until a placeholder for the second pipe appears above the hole. Repeat this process for the second pipe. As a final step, you will need to fill the hole with concrete using a concrete mixer or pump.
The process of drilling is extremely awkward, and progress may become stuck at some points. Skipping the step or repeating may become necessary.
