Namco's Japan-only 1992 quiz arcade game Bakuretsu Quiz Ma-Q Dai-Bouken is divided into five areas, each one comprised of several stages; in each stage, you will have to answer a preset number of (three-script Japanese) questions correctly in order to help advance Scott (or Stanley) to the next one. When you answer a question correctly, a yellow "O" will appear next to your chosen number and the amount of time you have remaining will be added to your score, as your character's situation at the bottom of the screen improves - but if you answer a question incorrectly, a red "X" will appear next to your chosen number and your character will lose a "life-heart", as his situation at the bottom of the screen worsens. The introductory cutscene will go like this:
The game will then start, as the Katakana text Sutēji 1, 3 noruma (ステージ1, 3ノルマ) appears at the top of the screen, while Scott and Stanley appear in a situation with three machete-wielding Zako-Hei (written in Katakana and Kanji as ザコ兵) at the bottom of the screen; their leader is depicted in the last of the five screenshots shown above, and you will have to answer three questions correctly if you wish to eliminate them all and go on to that next stage.
