When you wake up you're in an open area and Reina sees Tycoon Castle in the distance. Apparently, whatever happened when the crystals broke sent you back to Bartz's World. There isn't much to do outside the castle, not even any monsters to fight, but it's easy to spot some differences between this world and Bartz's World. For one thing the meteor is gone and for another there is river to the west that wasn't there before.

You can't talk to Reina and Salsa at the moment because every time you try to get close some dances bump into you. Go go outside and talk to Krile instead. She's homesick and thinking about Galuf, she also has an intuition that something still needs to be done. Go back in and find the King's Chamber; you couldn't enter this earlier. Check the book there for a flashback of the king trying to get Salsa to ride a dragon for the first time. He ends up leaving alone since he needs to get a doctor for the queen. As you leave the castle, Krile wonders if you shouldn't try to get Reina and Faris to join you, but they seem to be too busy with the banquet so you go on without them. As you leave the castle grounds a soldier come rushing in to say that the bridge over the river to the west is complete. (Bartz can leave the castle alone, but the bridge won't be done unless Faris is in your party.) Bartz wants to check on Boko, his chocobo from the beginning of the game, who was last seen recovering from a broken leg in the pirate hideout.

Cross the bridge to the west and head north to the pirate cave. Boko comes out and introduces his wife Koko, as Krile tells you since she speaks Chocobo as well as Moogle. You get Boko to help you get around while Koko stays behind to after Boko Jr. Now that you have Boko you can cross rivers without a bridge. This opens a large area to explore, but there still isn't much to do in most of it. If you dismount Boko you can go back inside the pirate cave and say hello to the pirates and Koko if you want. You can go back to the castle but it's pointless to go inside with the banquet going on. Continue north, cross a river and follow the canyons west to reach Tule Village. Dismoint Boko to visit if you want, but there isn't much new there except fresh gossip from the villagers. Follow the river west and go south into a canyon. Continue and eventually you fall into a hole in the ground. In the midst of a discussion about who's to blame for your predicament, a monster attacks.

Once the battle is finished you realize that you're still stuck in the hole, but soon a rope is lowered from the opening. Someone keeps pulling it up before you get close enough to grab it, but eventually you are pulled out and it turns out to be Feris who recently escaped from the banquet. She is upset that you left without taking her along. When you prepare to leave, Krile complains about a splinter which seems unimportant.

Krile's splinter begins to hurt once again and it pops out and transforms into X-Death. He states that he destroyed the crystals so he could obtain The Void's power. Once X-Death regains his composure, he sends the party flying and makes his escape.

Description/Strategy

Preparation: The battle is fairly easy, even with your party down two members, so a single character with Cure2 should be enough to keep up with damage.

Tactics: Cast Slow or Sleep to make things easier for your healers. Otherwise just continue to attack it.

Once the battle is finished a rope is lowered from the opening. It turns out to be Faris who recently escaped from the banquet. She is upset that you left without taking her along. On the way out, Krill gets a splinter.

Head south until you reach a cave and go inside. Boko is left behind at the entrance as you cross a bridge. Continue into the cave proper and find the last room of the Gill Shrine with Gill on his back. After Bartz turns him over, Gill explains Bartz's world and Galuf's world merged together when the crystals in X-Death's possession had shattered. A thousand years ago the singular world was split into two separate worlds. An evil force named Enuo split the two worlds using the power of The Void. Twelve legendary weapons were used to defeat Enuo and the crystals were used to contain The Void.

Krile's splinter begins to hurt once again and it pops out and transforms into X-Death. He states that he destroyed the crystals so he could obtain The Void's power. Sure enough, with the two worlds merged, The Void begins to appear in place of Tycoon castle. Gill surprises the party by clashing with X-Death. Once X-Death regains his composure, he sends the party flying and makes his escape.

Library of Ancients

When you recover you're within sight of the Library of Ancients. You go in and discover the scholars from Surgate castle. The book, half of which was in the original Library of Ancients, and the other half of which was in Surgate, has been restored and you can now read it. You hold a conference to learn what you can from the book and plan your strategy. You need to recover the twelve legendary weapons used in the fight against Enuo. The Book says that the weapons are in Kuza Castle, and four lithographs are needed to get them. There is one lithograph for each element; the Earth lithograph is hidden with the spirit of the past, the Wind lithograph is in an Island temple, the Flame lithograph is below the ocean floor, and the Water lithograph is behind a waterfall. The ancients sealed their servants with the lithographs and they will be revived when the lithographs are found. Finally, you must throw the book into the gate to find the final seal.

Go upstairs and talk to the scholars on the roof; the one on the right you the Magic Power Song. Exit the library.
