N-zone (desert area)[edit]

Restock on items, save, and take the airship to the hole where Tycoon used to be. Fly over to be sucked into the N-zone. As stated before, you can exit back to the world by boarding the ship and taking hold of the wheel again. Exit the ship to enter the N-zone proper.

The first part and works like the Shifting Sands. Make your way east until you reach a door. The monsters from the N-zone appear and warn you that your days are numbered, but that's all they do. Enter the door to a new area.

N-zone (pulley area)[edit]

Treasure in N-zone (pulley area)
Found Container Location
Ether Chest First area, west side of north room.
Cottage Chest First area, east side of north room.
Elixir Chest First area, west side of south room.
Dark Matter Chest First area, east side of south room.
Elixir Chest Second area, top of right pulley.
Blood Sword Chest Third area, northeast corner.

This part has constantly moving pulleys which take you from floor to floor. Check a pulley to have it take you to its destination and check it again to go back. Ride the first pulley down, then head south to the first main area. This is divided into two large rooms with a smaller room in between. Grab the treasure here and exit south.

The second area has several levels; take pulleys to the bottom, go to the right to find three pulleys going up. The middle one is a dead end so don't bother with it. Take the one on the right for treasure, then go back and take the one on the left to exit to the third area.

There are two stairways leading north. Take the one on the right first to get some treasure, then go back and take the one of the left. Go up two more pulleys and exit.

N-zone (Mirage Village and forest)[edit]

Treasure in N-zone (forest)
Found Container Location
Dragon Fang Chest Side path right near start.
Ribbon Chest Center, tree on left.
Power Rod Chest Center, tree on right.
Enchanter Chest Side path south near end.

You enter Mirage Village, through the door that was too dark and scary to enter before. This version is frozen in time so you can't talk to anyone, the shops definitely aren't open, and the piano doesn't even work. The recovery pot in the basement does work though, and it's a very good idea to make use of it. Exit the village the normal way and you enter a forest.

Explore and head north, then east, and finally south again, getting treasure you find on the way. When you reach the southeast corner, check the hole in the tree to open a hole in the ground. attempt to go in and a battle starts.

WoodSprite
Boss level: 68, Recommended party level: 39
HP: 18000, Weaknesses: None, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: None
Gold: 0, ABP: 20, Drops: None
Description/Strategy

Preparation: The bad news here is that there hasn't been a save point since you entered the N-zone, so if you lose this battle you'll need to start over from the desert. The good news is that this is a relatively easy battle and you can probably win handily. So just have a decent healer and some decent damage dealers so the battle doesn't take too long. If you have a character with a Reflect Ring then the monster will be distracted by it and do little harm to you.

Tactics: WoodSprite mostly uses status spells and doesn't really attack that much. If you have a character with Reflect the monster will cast a status spell by reflection from it. Otherwise WoodSprite casts a status spell on you or Reflect on himself. If he gets Reflect then Dispel it if you can since WoodSprite will step up his attacks then. WoodSprite reacts to damage by casting Drain, so don't attack with weak characters and don't attack if you have characters in low health. But if you keep attacking with enough damage to make headway against Drain then the battle should be over soon since WoodSprite doesn't have much HP for this stage of the game.

When the battle is over, continue into the hole to get to the next part.

N-zone (waterfalls)[edit]

Treasure in N-zone (waterfalls)
Found Container Location
Angel Ring Chest Small room behind waterfall.
Coral Ring Chest Small room north of ledge.

Follow the passage as it circles south to the next area. Now follow the ledge east, wading through the waterfalls that flow over them. Continue to the end and enter a door hidden behind the waterfall to a small room with treasure. Go back and go through a doorway you just passed to another small room with treasure. Exit to the east here to a save point (finally). Continue to the next ledge where you'll spot a robot running around, this is Omega which is actually one of the most difficult battles in the game. If this is your first time through the game then we recommend you just avoid the battle by going around Omega and continuing east. The door at the end leads to the next part.

N-zone (study)[edit]

You enter a study with bookshelves. Check the books on the shelves first; one tells you about Omega and Dragon Lord, another very tough monster. The other tells you about a spell called GigaFlare. Prepare for battle, then check the book on the table.

Apprehendr
Boss level: 59, Recommended party level: 40
HP: 22200, Weaknesses: Fire, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: None
Gold: 0, ABP: 16, Drops: Ash
Description/Strategy

Preparation: This enemy is weak to Fire so B. Mages, Sorcerers and Summoners will do well as damage dealers. A BlueMage with Burn Ray will work also with the advantage that you do a lot of damage for relatively low MP. One decent healer should be enough here.

Tactics: Apprehendr's normal attacks are fairly mild and with Shell. Golem and Regen in place you shouldn't really need healing at all. But it reacts to attacks, in different ways for magical vs. physical attacks, so make sure to keep your party is fairly well healed. The monster uses attacks that halve your MP or level, so don't let the battle drag on for too long or you'll be in danger of running out of MP or not doing much damage with any kind of attack. But if you use Fire based spells, Fire3, Phoenix, Burn Ray, etc., you should do enough damage so that this won't be much of a problem. Apprehendr has an irrational fear of Ifrit, making it pause for a while and then cast a spell that removes any status effects you've put on it. Ifrit is actually fairly weak at this point in the game, but you may want to cast it if your health is low and you want a temporary respite.

When the battle is over you can open and close the book. With the book closed you can go back to the waterfall area, and go back to the save point to save if you can get by Omega without much risk. With the book open the door south leads to the next part of the dungeon.

OPTIONAL BOSS: Omega
Boss level: 119, Recommended party level: 40
HP: 55530, Weaknesses: Lightning, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: All other elements
Gold: 50,000, ABP: 100, Drops: Omega Badge
Description/Strategy

Preparation: Since this is an optional boss, you will need to max out X-Attack (or Rapid Fire), dual-equip with strong weapons, Spell Blade Lightning, and Flame Rings and Flame Shields for your attackers. It is highly recommended that you max out all of your classes so that the Master will max out on stats.

Tactics: Omega will automatically have shell and reflect on it, so casting spells against it is useless. Omega will also use many fire-based attacks, so flame shield and ring will absorb it. The main tactic is to power-up one or 2 characters to its maximum. Have the attacker attack 8 times with Spellblade Lightning to dish out a lot of damage per turn. It should take 2-3 maxed out attacks to end the fight. Be very careful with Encircle, with removes a party member permanently from battle.
