Sub-Tank
Switch to the Storm Tornado again: it is especially effective against the first enemies you'll meet in this stage. Climb up the ladders to the top platform, then climb down the next ones you meet. At the bottom you can find the second Sub-Tank. The Leg Upgrade allows to break the blocks by wall-jumping from them.
Climb up again and continue to the right.
Sub-Boss
After a dark area, there is a sub-boss. It is weak against the Speed Burner (8 shots), while it's resistant to the Shotgun Ice.
Heart
Switch back to the X-Buster and continue through the stage. After you encounter a red turtle, climb the subsequent wall instead of going down the ladder. The Leg Upgrade is vital to get the Heart on a platform at the top: jump off the opposite wall.
Arm Upgrade
The Storm Tornado can be useful in the dark area: shoot while you jump over any pit to be protected from the light-fish.
Look carefully at the ceiling after the first light-fish: there are tiles that can be crushed with the Head Upgrade. At the top of this secret passage is Dr. Light's capsule containing the Arm Upgrade. The armor is complete now, and X's sprite changed!
- "Take this Arm Upgrade. The upgrade will increase the strength of your charged shots. This upgrade will also allow you to charge any of your special weapons. Defeat the enemy there, X!"
Contine to the boss: he's near.
Maverick: Spark Mandrill
Spark Mandrill is weak against the Shotgun Ice. Although you can now charge up your special weapons, the normal shot is faster and bounces around the room. In order to effectively use the charged Shotgun Ice, you should be close the the Maverick, but then you could easily get hit by him.
Spark Mandrill's attacks:
- Electric Spark
- Dash punch
The weapon obtained from Spark Mandrill is the Electric Spark. It will be useful in the first battle against Sigma. It is not effective against Storm Eagle.
