You are told from Moe that Acro is a likely candidate to be the real murderer, but it's gonna be very tough to prove so. Just pressing Acro would do no good, unless you have substantial evidence. Without it will spell certain doom for Max.

2. Around that time, I heard a large "THUMP" noise from outside the window.
3. Then a few moments later, I saw someone... Flying... Right by my window.
4. It was Max Galactica... I only saw him from behind, but that's who it looked like.
5. To be honest, when I saw that, I thought I was dreaming...

What You Witnessed: Cross-Examination

Press on Acro's 4th statement. Acro recognized Max by his silk hat and cloak, but not his white roses since he only saw Max's back. When given a choice to move on or not, choose There is a contradiction. Then Present the Silk Hat to support your claim. The silk hat was found at the crime scene, so how exactly did he see Max carry his silk hat?

The Judge asks you why Acro would lie to the court. Choose Acro is the real culprit. Von Karma and Acro doubt it as Acro is wheelchair-bound. He could not have done it at this condition. Von Karma even has a doctor's note saying Acro is unable to stand up on this own.

Von Karma now suspects you will counter this by saying that Acro needed an accomplice. When given a choice, choose Of course he didn't. Acro commited it all by himself. When you are asked where he committed the crime, on the circus map, Present Acro's Room (3F). Acro obviously committed the crime without ever leaving his room.

The court now asks you if you could show evidence to support your claim, choose Present evidence, then Present the Max G. Bust. The bust is very large, life-sized in fact. It is even heavy enough for a guarantee kill when it falls on someone, especially from a third-story window. Although it looks too heavy, Acro's upper body strength should still be able to lift it.

Your claim seems promising enough, even Acro is at a loss for words. It looks like you are getting closer to the truth, but von Karma will argue that Acro's physical state is the importance of this case. Acro will now testify about his condition.

1. I suppose I could have lifted something the size of that bust.
2. I have a strong upper body from working as an acrobat, and only my legs were injured.
3. However, lifting the bust and looking out the window would've been impossible.
4. There's no way I could have exerted that kind of force on my lower body.
5. That makes it impossible for me to have known the location of the Ringmaster's head.
6. Thus, it would be unrealistic for me to drop the bust on him. Don't you think?

The testimony looks difficult. Even The Judge doesn't have any doubts. You move on with the cross-examination anyways.

Acro's Physical State: Cross-Examination

Present the Wooden Box at statement 5. Acro already knew the location because of the wooden box. You show the crime photo to the court saying the Ringmaster looked like he was hunching over the box. Who placed it? Ben/Trilo saw the Ringmaster (disguised as Max) without the box, so it is certain that the box was placed beforehand.

Why was The Ringmaster squatting over the box in the first place? Probably because he was lifting the box. To lift the box, you have to squat your body over it. As you are squatting, your head is placed directly above the box. If the bust is dropped on the box as the Ringmaster's head is over it, the bust would hit the Ringmaster dead-on!

The Judge will, as usual, ask who actually placed the box at the crime scene. You will reply that it was Acro. You also add that he must have connected the box to a rope, and then lowered it down to the scene.

Von Karma will then argue that the Ringmaster's head could have been someplace else as he was lifting the box. You mention that it is impossible. When asked to explain the quality of the box, answer The weight of the box. The box is quite heavy, not to mention large and having handles on each side. So, no matter where you are, your head would be at the same place.

Acro will ask you if you remember the original location of the bust. Answer I remember. The bust was at a small table at the cafeteria, so how did Acro managed to get the bust from the cafeteria and lead it to his room? Present Money the Monkey. Money loves shiny things, and Max's Bust has shiny material on it. Usually when Money sees something shiny, he takes it to Acro's Room. Acro would've looked at Money's pile to look for the right tool for the murder weapon. He could have chosen the bust.

You have now proven that Acro is more likely the culprit, but von Karma persists. She reminds you that the murderer is clearly seen at the crime scene. Von Karma asks you who Moe really saw. Present the Max G. Bust. Moe claims to have seen the silhouette, but he didn't see Max himself. He probably didn't even see a human being.

Von Karma argues that the silhouette was wearing a cloak, but you argue that the cloak could have been attached to the bust on contact. When asked who put the cloak on the bust, Present Russel Berry's Profile. You then recite the events:

At the night of the murder, Acro placed the bust on the wooden box with a rope. Meanwhile, the Ringmaster leaves Max in his office to go to the crime scene, taking Max's clothes with him and disguising himself within it. As he heads towards the scene, he was caught by Ben and Trilo, whom he ignores. He eventually makes it to the box and tries to pick it up. That is when Acro took his chance and releases the bust, which landed on top of the Ringmaster, sealing his fate. At the moment of impact, the cloak snagged on the bust, creating the silhouette the Moe saw. Acro lifts the bust up. Meanwhile, Moe hear a large thump. He looked out his window only to see the cloak already snagged on. Acro pulls up the bust, unaware that Moe seeing "Max fly", so he just kept on pulling.

It looks like you have proven the murder method, but von Karma wants proof. Present the Silk Hat. Recall Moe's testimony yesterday. He said he saw the silk hat on the cloak. If that's true, and if the silk hat was found at the crime scene, then the silk hat Moe saw was actually the bust. And as for the white roses that Ban and Trilo saw and Moe didn't, when the cloak was snagged on the bust, the roses disappeared from Moe's view because it was on the front of the cloak. Moe only saw the back.

Von Karma is still not giving up, as she asks for one more thing: a motive. Why would Acro kill the Ringmaster, the man Acro loved very much? The Judge decides to call a recess.

Court Mode: Part 2

Gumshoe secretly brings you back the Scarf, which will be added to the Court Record. Now you have more ammo. Nothing much else here.

If you see the scarf's description, you'll see it has pepper all over it. This is what you need for this case. You'll see why.

1. When we were little, we were abandoned by our parents.
2. That's when the Ringmaster of the Berry Big Circus, Russell Berry, took us in.
3. I became an acrobat at around nine years old.
4. I wanted to find a way to repay the Ringmaster. That was my sole purpose in life...

There is nothing you can object to here, in fact, there is absolutely no need for a cross-examination at all. When asked to continue, answer no need to question him now. The Judge will now ask you to prove Acro's motive. Say I can't provide one. If Acro killed the Ringmaster without a motive, he could be aiming for someone else. When asked who, Present Regina Berry's Profile.

Von Karma wants proof of your claim. Present the Note. Earlier on the day of the murder, you found out that Acro put the note in Regina's pocket. Regina didn't think it was for her, so she put it on the bulletin board. the Ringmaster, Regina's father, saw the note and did what it said, to come to the plaza at 10:00PM. Once the Ringmaster reached there, his fate was sealed.

Recall Acro's earlier testimony. He said it would be impossible to look down the window, because of the weight of the bust. If that is true, he wouldn't have the strength to look down his window to see that it was the Ringmaster at the box, not Regina, yet he took his chances anyway. So, Acro didn't know at the time that he actually killed Regina's father, instead of Regina Berry herself!

Solving the Case

The Judge will ask if you know something about this note. Say I know all about it. Von Karma wants proof. Present the Small Seasoning Bottle. The decisive evidence mentioned in the note was found inside the wooden box. This is the evidence Acro tried to show to Regina.

Von Karma will now ask you who Regina "murdered". Present Bat's Profile. Though he isn't technically dead, he is in a coma for six months now. Von Karma will then mention Bat was bitten by a lion (Léon), however the lion was tamed and Regina wouldn't train Léon to kill people, so it was only an accident. Maya will ask you if you agree if it is an accident. Say it was more than that. When asked how, Present the Scarf.

Acro will reveal that the scarf belonged to Bat. He received it as a present from Regina. Not only the whole thing is covered in blood, but Regina put lots of pepper on it. The courtroom is suddenly silent upon hearing your claim. Von Karma reminds you that Léon bit Bat and it has no relation to the crime. Léon looked like he was smiling. It's impossible, as you'll explain that the lion was actually sneezing from all of the pepper Regina put on. Bat lost consciousness afterwords and Acro, being Bat's brother, was infuriated over Léon's owner and the giver of Bat's present (Regina) and sought out to kill her!

You have now proven Acro's motive for the "attempted" murder, but Acro is still not giving up. You need one more thing to prove: evidence. Is there any proof that Acro dropped the bust on the Ringmaster's head? Furthermore, where is the bust itself? When given the option, choose see how things work out first, as von Karma already checked Acro's room and the murder weapon isn't there.

It looks like you have nothing to prove. The Judge is now ready to end the cross-examination. Just then, a "Hold it!". It's Maya, who pleads for more time. After some encouragement from her, you are asked to say where the bust is now. When given the choice, tell them that it's somewhere in this courtroom. Then choose that the weapon is in the witness chair. Von Karma searched in Acro's room, and Acro couldn't leave with the bust, so when von Karma searched, Acro had no choice but to put it under his wheelchair, to ensure von Karma doesn't find it.

Acro finally gives up and reveals the bust from his wheelchair. He also explains what happened to the cloak, he burnt it into ashes and threw it away, as soon as he saw von Karma send a search party. He also confesses that he inadvertently killed the Ringmaster.

Acro's last words on the stand is rather sad. Bat only wanted Regina to like him, so he sprayed pepper on her. Regina sneezed a lot, and decided to get Bat back, so she picked up a scarf and sprayed pepper all over it. Since Bat's hospitalization, Regina thought Bat to be dead, but is happy, as she believes the myth that people become stars when they die. Her happiness annoyed and eventually angered Acro, who eventually snaps and did what you have proven.

A very sad story indeed, but here is something that would cheer you up:

Maximillion Galactica is found Not Guilty!

What REALLY happened

It was about six months ago. Bat and some other members of the circus are in love with Regina Berry, the animal tamer of the famous Berry Big Circus. One day Bat decided to tease Regina, so he sprayed pepper on her. Regina sneezed all day and was laughed at. Regina decides to get her revenge.

Regina picks up a scarf and sprays pepper all over it. She then gives it to Bat as a present, so he could sneeze all day with it. What started as a prank eventually became a disaster. After given the present, Bat one day during practice decides to impress Regina, and put his head inside Léon the lion, one of Regina's friends. The lion was tamed so nothing can go wrong right?

Wrong! Once Bat put his head in Léon, the pepper from the scarf reaches Léon's nose, causing him to sneeze, biting Bat severely, and knocking him unconscious. Acro, Bat's brother, witnesses the incident and fights Léon for his brother's life. Both of his legs were broken during the fight.

Later, Russell Berry, the Ringmaster of the Berry Big Circus and father of Regina, became angry and calls Léon outside the circus tent, where he fires his rifle at Léon killing him. The Ringmaster afterwords tells Regina that when people die, they become one of the stars of the sky and will be watching from up there. Regina believes her father and, as a result, took the death of Léon well.

Acro and Bat was forced to go to the hospital. Acro's injury was so severe was forced to use a wheelchair. Bat was in a coma and still is to this day. Regina thought Bat is dead, but isn't worried, in fact, she is as happy and innocent as ever, which angers Acro more and more, as his brother's life is in jeopardy. Six months after the incident, Acro had enough of Regina and decides to kill her.

December 27, Acro writes an anonymous letter intended for Regina, calling her a murderer and telling her to come to the plaza at 10:00PM. He puts the letter in Regina's pocket as she takes him to the cafeteria, where Maximillion Galactica and Benjamin Woodman/Trilo Quist are fighting over Regina. Max snaps and whacks Ben's head with a juice bottle. Anyhow, Regina eventually notices the letter and thought it was intended for someone else, so she put it on the bulletin board. The Ringmaster eventually notices and reads the letter and tears it down and puts it in his pocket, infuriated.

At night, the Ringmaster, after practice, calls Max in his office for what he did to Ben. Meanwhile, Acro prepares for the crime. He looks at the shiny pile Money the Money made (Money usually takes shiny stuff to his room) for a weapon and chooses Max's bust, which he won at a Grand Prix recently. He ties it over a wooden box, which is where Acro's target would be and waits for the moment.

The Ringmaster then tells Max to stay in his office and decides to travel to the plaza undercover. He takes Max's costume, consisting of a silk hat, cloak, and white roses, and uses it to disguise himself. Along his way to the plaza, he is noticed by Ben and Trilo, who are waiting outside for Regina, to engage her to marriage. (The ring they are holding is stolen by Money).

The Ringmaster eventually makes it to the box and opens it up to find the pepper seasoning bottle, which Regina used for the prank that caused all of this. The Ringmaster tries to pick it up, putting his head over the box. Acro hears what he is anticipating, but he couldn't see who is down there, as looking down his third story window may risk falling with the bust. Acro takes his chances and releases the bust, which falls on the Ringmaster's head, snapping his vertebrae, and killing him instantly.

The force of the impact causes the cloak the Ringmaster was wearing to snag on the bust. The noise from the impact wakes Moe the Clown, who sees a silhouette looking like Max. Acro starts pulling the bust up, unaware that Moe is watching. Moe sees the silhouette and thinks he saw Max flying from the crime scene. He never saw the white roses, because the rose are on the front of the cloack, Moe only saw the back.

The police arrive and take Max away, since Ben & Trilo and Moe say they saw him at the scene.

Acro tries to hide the evidence from investigators by burning the cloak into ashes and hiding the bust under his wheelchair.

Turnabout Big Top: Epilogue

Regina is bawling after what she had just heard from the trial. She wants to know if Acro is still plotting revenge on her. Say I don't think so. Regina wants proof. Present Bat's Profile. Bat is still alive, and Acro didn't want to get caught, because he wanted to see Bat open his eyes again. Regina now promises to stay on Bat's side and wait till the very day he opens his eyes again.

Since the Ringmaster is gone, Moe decides to take the Ringmaster's place and vows to make the Big Berry Circus the best circus everyone has ever seen. Max agrees and decides to join and convinces Regina to come along.

We then hear an anonymous phone between a man and Gumshoe. Apparently the man knew about what transpired recently. The man plans on returning to where Phoenix lives. Gumshoe hangs up as he waits for an all too familiar face returns to his office. Expect to see Miles Edgeworth in the next and last case of the game.
