Template:All Game Nav Whomp's Fortress is Course 2 of Super Mario 64 DS. 1 star is required to access it.
Star 1: Chip off Whomp's Block
In this level, you will need to reach the top of the fortress. Begin by climbing where the platforms moving in and out are. Then, go up the stairs where the Thowmps fall on. Next, get past the piranha plants and past the rotating platform. You will go past 2 Whomps before you find platforms going up. On the top you will find King Whomp. Defeat him like any other Whomp (but 3 times) to get the star.
Star 2: To the Top of the Fortress
Go up to the top like last time, but this time you will find a tower to climb. Ascend the platforms, watching out for the projectiles that come out of the cannons. On the top you will find the star.
Star 3: Shoot into the Wild Blue
Instead of climbing up the fortress, you will need to reach a cannon. Start by going up where you would normally go, but backflip left to reach a section with water. Going left, you will find a Bob-omb Buddy. talk to him to prepare a nearby cannon. After going in, aim for the bottom of the upper pole. This will launch you to the lower section where the star is.

Star 5: Fall Onto the Caged Island
From where you start, turn around and climb the tree to make the owl come out. Come down from the tree and jump when you are standing in the owl's shadow. Turn toward the floating island that you will see with a cage and a star on it. Let go of the owl when you are directly overhead of the island. Walk into the cage through the opening and take the star.
Star 6: Blast Away the Wall
Go to the cannon like you did for the third star, and launch into the edge of the brick wall at your 2-o'clock. Go back to the cannon and launch into the edge of the farther brick wall, and then go back to the cannon one last time, and launch to the star that will have appeared where you launched the previous time.
