Hi Garrett, I have no problem with renaming RBI Baseball.  I just went with what I encountered first, but I have no strong feeling about it one way or the other.  I'll fix it. Procyon (Talk) 23:02, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
The achievements and trophies for the game use different images and the Xbox 360 version has more achievements – wouldn't it be easier for a PlayStation 3 user to see his trophies in a separate table instead of mixed in with 360 ones and the wrong images on some of the PS3 ones? Also, the PS3 version images are now orphaned. If there are new features that require more pages be added to the original ToC, I think it deserves its own main page. -- Prod (Talk) 16:05, 28 June 2008 (CDT)
I've been including a <tt>nowrap</tt> parameter in the table cell with the platinum trophy to prevent link breaks within the column, but the same issue is present with the gamerscore column as well. I think it would be a good idea to set the width on the gamerscore and trophy columns in the Achievements Header template to accommodate a three digit gamerscore and a platinum trophy, respectively. == Baby Pac-Man in MAME ==

Hi Garrett.  If you want to be technical, Baby Pac-Man does not belong to the MAME category.  It is supported in PinMAME, but that's considered a separate build of MAME, and no one who downloads one of the "regular" MAME builds will be able to play Babe Pac-Man. Ultimately, I'll leave the call up to you, but I would remove the category. Procyon (Talk) 21:35, 1 July 2008 (CDT)

Platform/Platforms/systems
My opinion is that we should go by the more accurate technical term, since editors can either copy it from wikipedia, or look at other examples.  Visitors should be able to figure it out based on usage.  Which do you prefer? -- Prod (Talk) 11:57, 6 July 2008 (CDT)

I just saw you modified my Banner for my Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City guide. I want to know is this a strategy wiki norm or it's because my banner was too big? The problem is that it's pretty small on my screen resolution. Is there a way to make it bigger but still center ?

DJ K-Jtan 20:42, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Thank you
: The problem is that at the banner's original width it caused the page contents to be shunted below the infobox on lower screen resolutions (like this). It is for this reason that we try to keep banner widths on the main page within reasonable limits (which is why marquee was created). Not all images look good at this lower size, but the alternative is even worse. This is less of an issue for subpages because there are no infoboxes there to shove images out of the way. --Garrett (talk) 22:37, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I've marked BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban/Printable version for deletion and see you are the main contributor. Is this page necessary for any reason, or is it a holdover from Wikibooks or an earlier era of StrategyWiki? Just wanted to give you a heads up. I don't think they should've been deleted. It's not very different than something such as BurgerTime/Versions or Pokémon Gold and Silver. The game has had multiple versions, and I think the covers of the different versions (even if the gameplay is almost identical) are important. RobJ1981 05:24, 27 August 2008 (CDT)

DLC question
Sam & Max
I was under the impression DLC just went on the main guide. Is it based on how big they are? For instance, I would have added the DLC achievements and trophies for GTAIV to the GTAIV achievements and trophies page like we've done for other ones. Just wondering if there was a standard or if we take them on a case by case basis. Thanks, — <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 21:01, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:According to wikipedia it appears to be an expansion, not a DLC. -- Prod (Talk) 21:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
::The GTAIV episodes are major DLC, comparable to a PC expansion. They are even sold separately from the main game (as Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City). The Oblivion expansions are listed separately too (they are DLC for the consoles but retail for the PC). --Garrett (talk) 21:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:::What's the differentiation between a major DLC and a regular one (is there a label as such somewhere)? -- Prod (Talk) 21:21, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
::::Um, er, not really. "DLC" is a catch-all term for everything from Horse Armor to an entirely new game chapter. Figuring this out is a case-by-case deal for sure. As a general rule, if it's the sort of thing that on the PC would have traditionally been sold in stores it's expansion-level DLC; similarly, if the PC gets it as a retail expansion but the consoles just get it as DLC it counts as an expansion. --Garrett (talk) 22:57, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Main Page test
I noticed you added in controls for a vehicle on Mass Effect 2.  I'm almost to the end of the game now and I've yet to encounter a pilotable vehicle anywhere (though I know there is the Hammerhead, I don't believe it's out yet). Where do you encounter a controllable vehicle in the game?  If I can find it, I can figure out its controls and add them.  — TheTwantalk 21:49, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:There are no usable vehicles in the base game, so these will be for the Hammerhead DLC. They were listed in the PC version's control customisation section. The Xbox vehicle controls are logical guesses based on other control similarities and may not be correct. --Garrett (talk) 22:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

He says hello. Imjon

I was told by the proprietor of this site Echelon that I could put that link in because this is a contribution from my site and you go and take it out.  I don't appreciate it.  Is this how you treat your contributors?  I am sure this was just a misunderstanding, as you were probably influenced by some of the ideologues on this site who like to tell the contributors what to do and how to do it.
Achievements Header double image column
I have put this back in as I was given permission to. Please don't delete my contribution lines unless you get direct permission from the proprietor of this site -- not from this demi-god or this know-it-all, but from the proprietor. Thank you.
Hi, I had an idea about games with very different achievement and trophy images (instead of just a couple): Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection#Achievements and trophies. This could be handled fairly easily in the template by switching out the cell width with an optional parameter. I like this layout a little better than floating the alt. images in the description cell, because they belong in the "picture" column and this way you don't have to decide which system's images get the main placement. I also like it better than a completely separate table as it avoids redundancy and page length. Let me know what you think. :) — <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 16:38, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for the stridency in this post, but it is a very irritating situation.  Next time you delete my authorized "by line," delete the whole damned contributed walkthrough that goes with it.

By the way, here is a copy of the permission I got.

Hey Karl. If your guides from another site were made freely available (free as in freedom) and are anywhere on this website, then you absolutely have a right to put a link on the guide. I would suggest putting it on the bottom of the main guide page where it is visible above any other external links, or perhaps as the kind of template we use for "Wikipedia has more on...". In fact, a template might be a good idea for this. I'll talk with Prod again, and I suggest that you join us at our meeting this weekend so that we can address this in a way where you not only get credited, but you get credited in a fitting way.

:Karl, the link would be better suited as specifically recommended by ech: on the main page of the guide, under the external links section. This provides your site with blanket coverage on the C&C guide, and helps maintain our policies of keeping visual crediting (names and such in the content of the guide) to a minimum. Remember that your contributions have been saved in the history, and will remain there indefinitely unless there is some sort of legal violation with the content. == Merge Contra? ==
Final Fantasy Tactics
Hi Garrett.  I noticed the hard work you did to change and rearrange Contra, but I was thinking about it.  The difference between the Arcade version and the NES version really isn't as big as everyone thinks.  The only major difference between the two games is that the last four stages in the NES version is actually one gigantic stage in the arcade version.  That's really it.  it still has the same bosses, so technically, each stage in the NES version is still a "leg" in the arcade stage.  The other difference is that the underground bases in the arcade version "twist and turn", but that only affects the non-fighting portions of the stage.  Other than that, everything else is identical; the enemies, the controls, the power-ups, etc.  By comparison, the guide I'm writing for Dragon Buster has many more differences between the Arcade and the Famicom version, but I'm still containing them in one guide because despite a slight difference in how the inventory system works, and a few enemies, the game is essentially the same.  What do you think? Fight Night Round 4 achievements[edit]

— najzereT 23:39, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Achievement tables[edit]

I've been including a nowrap parameter in the table cell with the platinum trophy to prevent link breaks within the column, but the same issue is present with the gamerscore column as well. I think it would be a good idea to set the width on the gamerscore and trophy columns in the Achievements Header template to accommodate a three digit gamerscore and a platinum trophy, respectively. What do you think? — najzereT

Maybe it's just me, but do you think the tables would look better with both gamerscore and trophy columns the same width? — najzereT 23:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City[edit]

Hi there,

I just saw you modified my Banner for my Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City guide. I want to know is this a strategy wiki norm or it's because my banner was too big? The problem is that it's pretty small on my screen resolution. Is there a way to make it bigger but still center ?

thank you very much

DJ K-Jtan 20:42, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

The problem is that at the banner's original width it caused the page contents to be shunted below the infobox on lower screen resolutions (like this).
Thank you for your reply. I understand why I need to shrink the width size. What is a good width size for an image? DJ K-Jtan 22:50, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban/Printable version deletion[edit]

Hi, I've marked BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban/Printable version for deletion and see you are the main contributor. Is this page necessary for any reason, or is it a holdover from Wikibooks or an earlier era of StrategyWiki? Just wanted to give you a heads up. Thanks, — najzereT 18:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

DLC question[edit]

I was under the impression DLC just went on the main guide. Is it based on how big they are? For instance, I would have added the DLC achievements and trophies for GTAIV to the GTAIV achievements and trophies page like we've done for other ones. Just wondering if there was a standard or if we take them on a case by case basis. Thanks, — najzereT 21:01, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

According to wikipedia it appears to be an expansion, not a DLC. -- Prod (Talk) 21:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
The GTAIV episodes are major DLC, comparable to a PC expansion. They are even sold separately from the main game (as Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City). The Oblivion expansions are listed separately too (they are DLC for the consoles but retail for the PC). --Garrett (talk) 21:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
What's the differentiation between a major DLC and a regular one (is there a label as such somewhere)? -- Prod (Talk) 21:21, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Um, er, not really.

Good to know, guys, thanks! — najzereT 21:24, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

ME2 Vehicle[edit]

I noticed you added in controls for a vehicle on Mass Effect 2. I'm almost to the end of the game now and I've yet to encounter a pilotable vehicle anywhere (though I know there is the Hammerhead, I don't believe it's out yet). Where do you encounter a controllable vehicle in the game? If I can find it, I can figure out its controls and add them. — TheTwantalk 21:49, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

There are no usable vehicles in the base game, so these will be for the Hammerhead DLC. They were listed in the PC version's control customisation section. The Xbox vehicle controls are logical guesses based on other control similarities and may not be correct. --Garrett (talk) 22:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. :D — TheTwantalk 23:26, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I marked Monsters' Den: The Book of Dread/Badges for deletion, which I think is a scope issue that needs to be cleared up. Achievements Header double image column[edit]

:) — najzereT 16:38, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Fable/Locations[edit]

Can you please add this page to the ToC? -- Prod (Talk) 05:23, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Following up on these two again. -- Prod (talk) 23:38, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
I have merged the Gothic II page into Gothic II/Khorinis. Fable/Locations ideally needs to be mostly split into the other pages. I've linked it on the Table of Contents for now.
Thanks! I'm hoping my ToC validating bot will eventually get to 0 misses. Dealing with the fighting games now. -- Prod (talk) 04:39, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Box art question[edit]

Hey, I see you were moving the Sega Smash Pack guides around and fixing categories, and this image was left with the Sega Smash Pack image category, although it's not on that guide page. The old category (Sega Smash Pack (Game Boy Advance) images) was deleted, but the image is actually on that guide page. Just wondering if this was intended or if it was looked over in the shuffle. Cheers, — najzereT 07:08, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

I might do that later. I'm wondering how to distinguish the images for the second Circle Pad — should it just have a black back part and an 'R' on it?
