As far as glitches and stuff like the mountain that you mentioned, I plan on making one more page for tricks such as that and the unlimited item duplication trick.  That really stinks about IE and the check mark.  I suppose I can try to find a better symbol to use, I just can't understand why IE can't display a simple check mark.  Also, I had a difficult time understanding the last sentence that you left for me on my talk page.  It's not clear what you were trying to say.  Thanks.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 09:55, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

Hi Rocky. I noticed the change you made from the dollar sign to the pokebuck sign, and it actually made me chuckle.  But attention to little details like that is what can set your work apart from being plain and ordinary to being something special.  I just wanted to applaud your efforts, I think you're going to be a very valuable contributor to StrategyWiki.  I also encourage you to consider fleshing out some of the other Pokemon guides that are in dire need of attention.  Good luck, and let us know if you need any more help.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 10:39, 8 February 2007 (CST)

You mentioned on the pokémon Diamond/Pearl talk page that there should be a list of Pokémon and their locations. :: Hi again Rocky.  I got your note. I took a look at what you've started with, and with all due respect, it's a good start, but it's still pretty much a skeleton of a guide. The truth is that I am giving strong consideration to working on the Red/Blue/Yellow guides. If I get started on that, you'll have an idea of what to do with G/S/C.  The fact is, we really want these guides to look like professional publications, like the kind you could buy in a store if we printed it on paper.  That may be more work than a lot of people are willing to do, and I understand that.  But if you want a great example of what a good guide looks like, look no further than [[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]] guide.  It has a really nice layout, plenty of informative tables, and nice screenshots to illustrate each step of the walkthrough.  The truth is, that really took a lot of hard work (I didn't personally contribute to that guide, but I really enjoy it's approach, and model a lot of my own work after it.)  But hopefully if you look at it, it will inspire you. If I start on the R/B/Y guide, I may have some edits in by the end of this evening. I'll keep you informed.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 13:43, 8 February 2007 (CST)

Hi Rocky. My best recommendation to you is to actually use a Game Boy emulator.  Emulators are far and away ''the'' tool of choice for screenshots.  If you're not familiar with how to use an emulator, or how to get the ROM for the game in question, or just how to take screenshots with them, let me know.  For Game Boy, I recommend that you use VisualBoyAdvance or KiGB.  Just Google those and you'll find them.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 10:48, 9 February 2007 (CST)

P.S. Give me some time to develop the R/B/Y guide and then you'll understand why I laid it out the way that I did.  We have a spoiler template that allows you to keep spoiler information hidden in case you don't want to read it. Trust me, the R/B/Y guide won't really look like anything that has currently existed on this site so far.

:Thanks for asking me about Route #1. In all honesty, I would prefer if you wait. I've got a whole plan for this guide, and I know I shouldn't commandeer the guide like I'm doing, but I would really like to present the guide as an evolution in format. However, I greatly appreciate any follow-up edits that you may have to the content that I've already added.  Generally speaking, once I hammer out a page, I rarely revisit it, so I'm alway greatful to people who edit or add to what I laid out.  I should have quite a bit of the beginning of the guide done tonight. Hi Rocky.  I would be more than happy to help make the S/G/C guide look like the R/B/G guide, but I can only handle one at a time, so you'll have to wait until I'm finished with R/B/G first.  As for the pictures, we're slowly importing them as necessary from Bulbapedia.  I'm getting the encounter rates from strategy guides, who have disassembled to ROM to determine the proper ratesWhen I start helping you on S/G/C, I should be able to provide that information.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 11:52, 10 February 2007 (CST)

:If you'd like to help bring the images over, you're more than welcome to do so.  We have decided (for the most part) to leave the accent off of the image names, because it's a pain for editors to find the accented e and copy/paste it over and over again.  The rule is if it's something that a reader see, it should have the accent, and if it's something for an editor, it shouldn't have an accent. Image names are mostly just for editors.  Be sure to follow that ''exact same'' naming convention: Pokemon_xxxName where xxx is the three digit index of that Pokemon and Name is the name (obviously). ::Re: Ruby images, I know they are named differently, but they are also a different kind of image. Those images are sprites. The ones that we are importing are artwork. So technically, there's no conflict... ''yet''.  What happens to those PD&P images remains to be seen, but for now, they're OK.  The problem with sprites, is that they change from version to version, while the artwork, theoretically, never really changes.  So for the sake of the entire series, we're switching to artwork.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 13:26, 10 February 2007 (CST)

:Rocky, relax.  If you check the recent changes log, you will see that I deleted your images (and then I uploaded a bunch with the wrong name, deleted them, deleted one too many, put them all back... *sigh*)  Here's what you need to do to make sure that you preserve the transparency:
==[[Gauntlet Dark Legacy]]==
::When you go [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Pok%C3%A9mon_images here], and you click on one of the images, don't just save that file.  Go one step further and click on the link to the actual file underneath the picture.  When you see just the image and no other text, you're on the right page.  Right click that image and choose "Save Image As..." and save it to your hard drive.
If you check the [http://midway.com] site, the official name doesn't have a :. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 15:39, 8 July 2007 (CDT)
:Then rename it so that "Pokemon_" goes in front, and upload it to StrategyWiki.  When it uploads and you see the result, there should be a faint checker pattern behind the image instead of any solid color.  That check pattern means the background is transparent.  If you don't see that, start over and try again. [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 15:10, 10 February 2007 (CST)
::.BMP should not be your only option.  Which browser are you using?  When you look at, for example, [http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/2/21/001Bulbasaur.png Bulbasaur], that file is in PNG format.  So when you go to save it, it should naturally want to save as a PNG, since that's what it was to begin with.  P.S. small nit picky pet peeve of mine, but please place your signature on the same line as your comments, like so: [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 15:27, 10 February 2007 (CST)
I was afraid that would be the case with IE (stupid Microsoft).  [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294714 See this].  I use Firefox so I don't have that problem.  If you're game for downloading Firefox and switching to a much better browser, I highly recommend it.  You can find it [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ here].  It even spell checks as you type in the edit window. ^_^ [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 15:41, 10 February 2007 (CST)

Hi again.  I'd like to make it standard that "<nowiki>|custom=[[Pokémon/Pokédex|Pokédex]]</nowiki>" be added to each All_Game_Nav for Pokemon gamesSo everywhere where you have:
==Eyegore strategy==
<pre><nowiki>{{All Game Nav|game=Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal}}</nowiki></pre>
Hi Rocky.  I'm not sure if you were talking about the right enemy when you added that Eyegore strategyFrom what you wrote, it sounded to me like you were talking about the Koppe enemy found in later levels, that mirror your movements (i.e. when you press left they go right, etc.), and not the EyegoresEyegores simply wake up when you get close and follow you around.  If you really meant the Eyegores, then fine, but if you were really talking about the Koppes, please fix up your addition.  Thanks! ^_^ [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 10:23, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
you would change it to:
<pre><nowiki>{{All Game Nav|game=Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal|custom=[[Pokémon/Pokédex|Pokédex]]}}</nowiki></pre>
and that way, our Pokedex would automatically appear in the All_Game_NavIt's not a high priority, but if you wouldn't mind doing that for me, that would be wonderful.  Thanks!  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 16:12, 10 February 2007 (CST)

Hi Rocky.  I'm not sure if you're in the habit of checking the recent changes log, and seeing that I responded to your message, but I left the response on my talk page.  I was just wondering if you noticed.  One thing that I would encourage you to do (if you would like) is to take a look at some of the pages that I've created for Red and Blue and look at them in Edit mode.  Try to learn a little bit about the techniques I'm using the build tables, display images, and link to Bulbapedia.  There's a Bulbapedia template that I haven't yet made use of, but plan to.  For Pikachu, it would just be <nowiki>{{bp|Pikachu}}</nowiki>, which would show up on the page as {{bp|Pikachu}}.  But every Pokemon that you mention could be linked this way to Bulbapedia's exceptional Pokedex (we have a loose partnership with them.)  Anyway, the best way to become a better editor is to always take a look at how other people are doing things that you like.  I do it all the time, and I'm constantly learning new tricks for arranging things like tables, text, and images.  I'm glad that you like Firefox ^_^  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 13:09, 12 February 2007 (CST)</nowiki>

::Hi Rocky.  The tables are coming along well.  Take a note of the changes that DrBob and I have made.  It can be difficult to do with big tables, but you want to make sure that you have every row and every column well defined.  That is, every row should have the same number of columns, even if the last ones are empty.  That way you don't end up with trailing table lines.  Also, I proposed alternate colors for the table header. You can change them back if you don't like them. And finally, because Weedle and Kakuna are thinner than most Pokemon (Kakuna especially) you have to resize them to a size less then 40 pixels wide so that they match the other Pokemon sizes.  I think 35px works for Weedle and 25px works for Kakuna.  I've seen it go the other way too.  Mankey is especially wide, so 40px makes him look to small, so I usually size him up to 50px.  Just eyeball it and play with the numbers until it looks right to you.  Great job!  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 12:12, 13 February 2007 (CST)

For now, it's easier to just start guides where they will end up. Just start the page and use the new guide button that shows up.  As for infoboxes, if you are using an infobox for planning your guide, then might as well use a proper infobox, as long as it doesn't stay in the games cat for too long.  If you want to have an infobox for your user (which is what I thought you meant) then use tables.  Check out [[ StrategyWiki:Guide/Tables]] for some alternate table syntax (cleaner). -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 12:50, 17 February 2007 (CST)

== Importing images ==
== OH! DANGO! JAM ==

Hi Rocky.  We never link to another site for images, we only ever link to our own images unless it absolutely can not be helped.  So all you have to do is go to a commercial site that sells games like amazon.com, look up the game, find a good image of the box art, and upload it to StrategyWiki.  I would recommend that the image not be ''too'' big.  Something in the neighborhood of 300 to 400 pixels wide should be just right.  If you know how to use image editing tools like Photoshop or GIMP, then you can resize any image you want to 320 pixels wide, which is ideal. Even Paint is capable of resizing images with the Scale Tool.  Good luck!  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 18:47, 17 February 2007 (CST)
Reading the Scope, I think it does fit in.

== Thanks for the tip! ==
This game meets both
1. It is a game, and
6. It has playerbase comparable to a commercial game. This one also says if it meets this, things like being commercially available, or produced by a corporation do not matter.

It took me a while to figure out what on earth you were talking about in your P.S.  I would simple hold down Alt and type 1-3-0 on the numpad and it would work just fine.  At first I was like, "what the hell is Alt Gr?" and I thought maybe you just made a typo or something, but I googled it and found out about it, so I was like, "wow, lemme try that," but for the life of me, I couldn't get Alt + Ctrl + e to work. So I looked in to it some more, and the wikipedia article said it specifically had to be a US International keyboard for it to work.  So then I was like, "OK, how do I set my keyboard to US International?" and found out how.  So once I had the settings correct, I could hold down Alt + Ctrl + e and get an é, and then I found out that I could just hold the Alt key to the right of the space bar without pressing Ctrl and it would work just as well.  I ''also'' found out that I could simply press ` once and then press e, and it would show up as one è.  So all in all, it's pretty cool, but the problem is, now everytime I want to use " or ` or ', I have to press it and hit space so it shows up because after the first key press, it waits to see what you will hit next in case you want an accented character.  So... I'll have to see how used to that I can become. Thanks though! [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 12:54, 21 February 2007 (CST)
There are thousands of players. the ranking in game only shows the top 500 players, and ranked 500 is a level 400-something character. I have never even played a person that high a level, except for NPC boss characters, and I've fought hundreds of people.

== Your sig ==

What you can do, is put all the info in a subpage for your userpage (something like User:Rocky/Pokemon template]], and just substitute that into the new pages you start (using the code {{subst:<noinclude></noinclude>:User:Rocky/Pokemon template}}.  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 10:27, 24 February 2007 (CST)
Currently, your sig is taking up a lot of room. Therefore, I shall let you in on my secret of how I got my sig to be a template. What you need to do is put your sig in [[User:Rocky/sig]] or something comparable, and then create '''another''' page (like [[User:Rocky/sig2]] or something) and put "<nowiki>{{User:Rocky/sig}}</nowiki>" in that page. Now, in your Nickname box in preferences, put in "<nowiki>{{subst:User:Rocky/sig2}}</nowiki>" (the MediaWiki engine automatically puts SUBST: in front of it if you don't, which is why this is a two-part process). Now, whenever you sign, instead of inserting all that messy wiki code, all it puts down is <nowiki>{{User:Rocky/sig}}</nowiki>. --{{User:Ryan Schmidt/sig}} 08:28, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Hi Rocky, I got your message. I'll try to fix Route 11 up again.  And I will get around to explaining how to get Mew.  You should feel free to make your own edits to the guide, no one person owns or is in charge of a guide, so you don't need my permission to edit Red/Blue.  If you see something that needs correcting or expanding, go ahead.  But I will take care of the Mew information.  As for stopping Silver and Gold, I would suggest to you that you don't consider it stopping, but more like taking a break.  If anyone knows how working on a guide can burn you out a little, it's me.  So take a break from it when you reach the halfway point, and come back to finish it when you're ready.  Work on a few other guides and eventually you will feel like returning to it. Hey, thanks for the offer!  I haven't played SoM for a yonk, but I wanted to restart it up again, just that after I created the mainpage I realised that I can't find my copy of it.  I'll do the Heroine's path (because that's the only path I took on my first go through, so it shouldn't be that hard doing it again) if you don't mind when I dig up my copy, but I'll be slow in contributing for a while yet because I've got school etc to go to - but no worries, I'll get it there!--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 04:04, 25 February 2007 (CST)
:Hey, when you make a page, can you add the link to the page to the ToC on the Sword of Mana article?  Should we just create a single walkthrough for the game, and create 'Hero' and 'Heroine' sections as we come across them?  I was just wondering what you think (I'm all for a single guide with deviations as it goes along to accommodate the Hero and Heroine sides of the story, but for now I've just left a 'hero's adventure' and 'heroine's adventure' sides to the walkthrough).--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 05:34, 25 February 2007 (CST)
:: I'm not sure it should work like that.  I was thinking something like [[StrategyWiki:Sandbox|this.]]--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 05:49, 25 February 2007 (CST)
:::And I'll start on the Heroine parts when I've done my homework.  By the way, can we go with British spelling the whole way?  I'm not that much of a fan of spelling 'amour' as 'armor' and so on, but I do so with other games because it keeps getting reverted otherwise :-P  Doesn't really matter, though--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 05:59, 25 February 2007 (CST)
When only one of the characters visits a place, we could just put Hero Only: XYZ and Heroine: XYZ.  I suspect that there's something tricky we could do with the footer nav, where we put 'hero's path click here' or whatever and 'heroines path click here' but I'm not sure how to go about it - maybe the people at the staff lounge would know??--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 06:04, 25 February 2007 (CST)
:How about just having two footer navs?  When they don't diverge, we could just have the one, and when they do we can just put two in. Sure, it doesn't look that great but it's the best I can come up with rather than having two separate guides of the same thing.
::Nicely done!!  :-D--[[User:Froglet|Froglet]] 07:15, 25 February 2007 (CST)

Oh well, you'll catch up eventually (actually, you probably won't, but whatever). Anyway, if you have any questions, [[:Image:Rocky Noob 1.jpg|this link]] should answer them quite thoroughly. If you need help editing, instead of whining about, why don't you try to [[StrategyWiki:Guide|RTFM]]? As for the [[StrategyWiki:Staff lounge|staff lounge]], try looking at the first word there. It says "staff." Are you [[StrategyWiki:Administrators|staff]]? I didn't think so, so STAY OUT! If you want to voice something about the site in general, or it's community, just go to [[StrategyWiki talk:Community Portal|community issues]], but try not to as <span class="plainlinks">[http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Nobody_Cares nobody cares]</span> about your issues. Seriously, keep them to yourself. If you want to just hang out in [irc://irc.abxy.org/StrategyWiki IRC], shame on you. Try actually editing something, you slacker. Okay, now, remember to sign your name on, and '''only''' on, talk pages by clicking [[Image:Wikisigbutton.png]] or using four tildes (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>); I'll let you figure out what the squiggly lines do yourself. Finally, '''always fill in the edit summary field''', otherwise I have to do some hard work checking diffs to make sure you aren't screwing stuff up. == welcoming new users ==

Actually, Prod brought up a pretty valid point on IRC, in which that we shouldn't welcome people just for creating accounts, only when they actually edit. It would reduce the amount of space needed in the db (because, as you can see, a LOT of accounts are being created), plus the majority of those new users probably won't edit at all anyway. Therefore, just welcome them when they actually make an edit. Of course, if you believe otherwise, just come onto IRC and explain your views. --{{User:Ryan Schmidt/sig}} 12:08, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

Yeah CN is still in beta, your userpage is a good example of the things that are missing right now.  The problem is, however, that most of those things are templates (like todo) or images that have hardcoded CSS (maybe not the images, I haven't attempted to give them black bg's yet).  What this means is we have to edit major templates like {{t|Moves List Header}} and the accompanying templates to make their color coding '''dynamic'''.  Right now, people are and have been writing templates with a white background in mind, and it doesn't work for CN at all (see {{t|Todo}} and {{t|Chrono Trigger/Boss}}).  I recommend NOT using it unless you feel like highlighting text A LOT (page histories and diff's haven't been changed yet so if you're patrolling you can't see anything).  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:42, 15 October 2007 (CDT)

Hey rocky, need your help.
I need to get some pages moved towards the back of the Pokemon RS guide.Here are my problems.

1)Routes 105 and 106 are out of position, and don't flow with the story...

2)I need to get a "Back to Route 104 (South)" page for talking to Mr Briney.

3)When i reach dewford town, do you think i should explain the gym first, or should i explain dewford cave first, instead.

Thanx in advance.

Peace Out, God Bless. [[User:Halosonic|Halosonic]] 18:03, 17 December 2007 (CST)

hmm, when i meant a "back to route 104 south" page, i meant a new page, not linking back to the original one. this one shouldnt be too detailed, just telling the ppl to go to briney's house. i dont want to explain it on rusturf tunnel.
also, dewford town... do you think we should put the gym as a separate page, since you need to pass thru dewford town to get to the page, and i think doing the cave first is a good idea, so ill do it first.

hmm... do you have this game? im wondering if i should do a run thru on mine first... but that'll have to wait till next week, im doing this off of memory, and i have my stuff i another country...but i think one of us needs to play thru the game when we do this...

anyways... ill fix up the guide pages tomorrow.

Hi, thanks for you comments, and for drawing my attention to [[Civilization III]] and [[People's Tactics]]. I initially produced something very like the structure you describe, but then Skizzerz came over all bureaucratic and said that's not the approved format, and jawboned someone else into re-arranging it all into 1 long page. I'm in 2 minds about making "Playable races" a separate page - yes, it's long; but no, it's part of the game overview and some of the comments in other parts of the overview refer to it (for example wherever "Tolerant", "Lithovore" and "Creative" are mentioned). All that's in the air while Skizzerz insists that TBS and RTS guides should be shoehorned into a format that was apparently designed for FPS and platform games. But if you have any other suggestions in the meantime, I'll be glad to hear about them. [[User:Philcha|Philcha]] 18:00, 12 January 2008 (CST)

hey, im not sure how to delete something that  I've uploaded, but, since you're an admin, you'd be able to deal with it. can you get rid of [[http://strategywiki.org/wiki/File:RS%26E_Battle_Girl.png]] please?

OK, where to begin... First, as neat an idea ''conceptually'' as the rock image map for your sig is, no one would understand that you want them to use your rock, so it's a bad idea in practice.  Second, it's not a good idea to include a break in your signature.  There's no reason for it, everybody just signs next to their paragraph.  Adding a line will confuse people.  Next, as far as absorb goes, if it's deprecated, it's deprecated.  Meaning, if there's no reason to keep it around, then so be it.  The people who contributed to it are free to contribute to bulbapedia as well, and not to be mean, but losing that Absorb page is no tremendous loss, as sad as it is.  Lastly, I see that you figured out the Bulbapedia link, but it might be a good idea to create a template for the moves.  We did that for the monsters, so it would be a good idea to make one for the moves.  I figured I should tell you before you got too deep in the list.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 15:57, 6 March 2007 (CST)
thanks.
: On second thought, we don't need a moves template.  I thought the links to Bulbapedia would have some weird extra word in the link like moves (the way the Pokemon links had the word Pokemon in them).  The template was meant to shortcut all of that, but it doesn't seem necessary for the moves. Carry on soldier.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] 16:03, 6 March 2007 (CST)

== HELP! Category Placement! ==

Hi. I was patrolling edits in the Pokémon guides, and I noticed that after most links to Bulbapedia, a Pokémon's level is listed. Since it's hard to keep such things consistent, I figured it would be a good idea to add the facility to specify a Pokémon's level to the {{tl|bp}} template. To this end, could you use <nowiki>{{bp|Pokémon name|Pokémon level as a number}}</nowiki> when linking to Pokémon in future (where applicable)? If you want more information, I've added usage documentation to [[Template:bp|the template]]. Thanks, and keep up the good work! --[[User:DrBob|DrBob]] ([[User_talk:DrBob|Talk]]) 13:26, 9 March 2007 (CST)

Pokémon RBY[edit]

As far as glitches and stuff like the mountain that you mentioned, I plan on making one more page for tricks such as that and the unlimited item duplication trick. That really stinks about IE and the check mark. I suppose I can try to find a better symbol to use, I just can't understand why IE can't display a simple check mark. Also, I had a difficult time understanding the last sentence that you left for me on my talk page. It's not clear what you were trying to say. Thanks. Procyon (Talk) 09:55, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

List of Pokémon[edit]

You mentioned on the pokémon Diamond/Pearl talk page that there should be a list of Pokémon and their locations. Did you mean for Diamond/Pearl specifics, all Diamond and Pearl Pokémon locations, or a universal Pokémon/locations page with locations for the Pokémon in their respective versions? Eyegore strategy[edit]

Hi Rocky. I'm not sure if you were talking about the right enemy when you added that Eyegore strategy. From what you wrote, it sounded to me like you were talking about the Koppe enemy found in later levels, that mirror your movements (i.e. when you press left they go right, etc.), and not the Eyegores. Eyegores simply wake up when you get close and follow you around. If you really meant the Eyegores, then fine, but if you were really talking about the Koppes, please fix up your addition. OH! DANGO! JAM[edit]

This article is about a free online flash game with no English publicity (based off a Google Search), which does not fit into our scope. That is why I have deleted its previous creation earlier today (the previous creation contains a link to the site, so you might want to check it out here). I have deleted the page a second time today, and will lock it if it gets created again, unless you can come up with a reason for why it should exist. Update: just got your message, I'll keep an eye out for it (didn't feel like erasing the previous message). --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 15:35, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

OH! DANGO! JAM[edit]

Reading the Scope, I think it does fit in.

This game meets both 1. It is a game, and 6. It has playerbase comparable to a commercial game. This one also says if it meets this, things like being commercially available, or produced by a corporation do not matter.

There are thousands of players. the ranking in game only shows the top 500 players, and ranked 500 is a level 400-something character. I have never even played a person that high a level, except for NPC boss characters, and I've fought hundreds of people.

You mention that the game has no english publicity. The scope page said language doesn't matter, as long as its guide is in english.

Yeah I agree. Plus this game is actually really fun! I say just let it be included and see how much info we can compile on this. English players could really use the translation. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 22:30, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

Your sig[edit]

Currently, your sig is taking up a lot of room. Therefore, I shall let you in on my secret of how I got my sig to be a template. What you need to do is put your sig in User:Rocky/sig or something comparable, and then create another page (like User:Rocky/sig2 or something) and put "{{User:Rocky/sig}}" in that page. Now, in your Nickname box in preferences, put in "{{subst:User:Rocky/sig2}}" (the MediaWiki engine automatically puts SUBST: in front of it if you don't, which is why this is a two-part process). Now, whenever you sign, instead of inserting all that messy wiki code, all it puts down is {{User:Rocky/sig}}. --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 08:28, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Better "Welcome" message[edit]

How's this?:

Hello Rocky! Thank you for your contributions, although I must admit that mine are way better than yours. Oh well, you'll catch up eventually (actually, you probably won't, but whatever). Anyway, if you have any questions, this link should answer them quite thoroughly. If you need help editing, instead of whining about, why don't you try to RTFM? As for the staff lounge, try looking at the first word there. It says "staff." Are you staff? I didn't think so, so STAY OUT! If you want to voice something about the site in general, or it's community, just go to community issues, but try not to as nobody cares about your issues. Seriously, keep them to yourself. If you want to just hang out in IRC, shame on you. Try actually editing something, you slacker. Okay, now, remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); I'll let you figure out what the squiggly lines do yourself. Finally, always fill in the edit summary field, otherwise I have to do some hard work checking diffs to make sure you aren't screwing stuff up. Oh, and don't delete this message from your talk page or you will get banninated. Happy editing! -- Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 17:14, 29 August 2007 (CDT)

welcoming new users[edit]

Actually, Prod brought up a pretty valid point on IRC, in which that we shouldn't welcome people just for creating accounts, only when they actually edit. It would reduce the amount of space needed in the db (because, as you can see, a LOT of accounts are being created), plus the majority of those new users probably won't edit at all anyway. Therefore, just welcome them when they actually make an edit. Of course, if you believe otherwise, just come onto IRC and explain your views. --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 12:08, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

Yes... that was one of my worse ideas css-wise. It made my sig way too annoying, and just plain ugly to people that didn't have that css... :P Pretty much, it's best not to create your own css for your sig, as what we already have in bc.css and common.css, plus what you can set in span tags, etc., should be more than sufficient for your sig. --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 15:00, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

CrimsonNight[edit]

Yeah CN is still in beta, your userpage is a good example of the things that are missing right now. The problem is, however, that most of those things are templates (like todo) or images that have hardcoded CSS (maybe not the images, I haven't attempted to give them black bg's yet). What this means is we have to edit major templates like {{Moves List Header}} and the accompanying templates to make their color coding dynamic. Right now, people are and have been writing templates with a white background in mind, and it doesn't work for CN at all (see {{Todo}} and {{Chrono Trigger/Boss}}). I recommend NOT using it unless you feel like highlighting text A LOT (page histories and diff's haven't been changed yet so if you're patrolling you can't see anything). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:42, 15 October 2007 (CDT)

Need ur help again, Rocky...[edit]

Hey rocky, need your help. I need to get some pages moved towards the back of the Pokemon RS guide.Here are my problems.

1)Routes 105 and 106 are out of position, and don't flow with the story...

2)I need to get a "Back to Route 104 (South)" page for talking to Mr Briney.

3)When i reach dewford town, do you think i should explain the gym first, or should i explain dewford cave first, instead.

Thanx in advance.

Peace Out, God Bless. Halosonic 18:03, 17 December 2007 (CST)

hmm, when i meant a "back to route 104 south" page, i meant a new page, not linking back to the original one. this one shouldnt be too detailed, just telling the ppl to go to briney's house. i dont want to explain it on rusturf tunnel. also, dewford town... do you think we should put the gym as a separate page, since you need to pass thru dewford town to get to the page, and i think doing the cave first is a good idea, so ill do it first.

hmm... do you have this game? im wondering if i should do a run thru on mine first... but that'll have to wait till next week, im doing this off of memory, and i have my stuff i another country...but i think one of us needs to play thru the game when we do this...

anyways... ill fix up the guide pages tomorrow.

Peace out, God Bless. Halosonic 16:07, 18 December 2007 (CST)

Master of Orion[edit]

Hi, thanks for you comments, and for drawing my attention to Civilization III and People's Tactics. Philcha 18:00, 12 January 2008 (CST)

Guide rename[edit]

Not sure if you're going to take care of it, but remember that all the subpages also need to be renamed (not just the front page). Then all the links and Navs need to be fixed on all the pages. I'll take care of it tonight if you don't have the time for it. -- Prod (Talk) 13:54, 21 February 2008 (CST)

Nice job :). For that header, I like the saying "When in doubt, throw it out". -- Prod (Talk) 10:33, 22 February 2008 (CST)

thanks for info[edit]

Rocky, I did not know about Echelon's reply, and I truly appreciate you telling me about it.

Thanks...Karl **** (I forget if that's how I put my info ####

no page for Battle for Middle Earth II[edit]

Hey, not sure who I should talk to about this, but there is a page for the Battle for Middle Earth II expansion but not for the actual Battle for Middle Earth II.

I was going to try to start giving some more contributions here.

Thanks Karlcsr 17:18, 18 April 2008 (CDT)

IRC[edit]

Thanks, I'll check it out when I have time. Also, thanks for fixing the links at the guide completion page. I'm planning to add the other missing consoles sometime, so now I know how to do it. RobJ1981 04:42, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

Well Done![edit]

Rocky, you made the most words of Publicity in Las Vagas, so... well done! I can't exactly give away prizes or anything, but for now this will have to be good enough. --Melon 247, the Dog's Life Expert 11:09, 11 August 2008 (CDT)

Rockybot[edit]

Nice work :). -- Prod (Talk) 02:11, 14 August 2008 (CDT)

Seriously Rocky, thank you so much for this immense effort on your part, but Prod's header does raise a good question: couldn't this task have been botted? Procyon (Talk) 12:42, 14 August 2008 (CDT)

Cat changes[edit]

I'll have my bot take care of the rest --Skizzerz 13:58, 25 August 2008 (CDT)

Cat changes[edit]

No need to do it manually, unless you really really want to :p. I'll bot it over the weekend. -- Prod (Talk) 14:01, 25 August 2008 (CDT)

Call of Duty World At War[edit]

I was surprised that the table of contents has got this much attention. I have a few questions. Where did you get all this chapters, unlockable etc? Do you have a game guide and what makes you decide to add some depth to this section? Message me soon. Johnnyauau2000 15:36, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Game selector thing[edit]

I have found a solution. In my sandbox I have used the control selector as a game selector and put them both together (sort of). Because you told me in the chat thing that people would forget to change the game selector, but then if they will remember to change the control selecter then it's ok. The only downcast is that you have to write stuff in twice if you're doing stuff for the game selector as well. --Melon247 17:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks But I'm Okay[edit]

I appreciate the offer to upload the images but I feel that I would get more of the guide done if I did it on my own time. But again, I appreciate the offer. User:Greenman1212 1:27, 3 January 2010

As a reminder, there is a meeting this Saturday, May 29, on IRC taking place at 2:00pm EDT (UTC -4). As always, agenda is available on the forums, so you may view it and suggest additions there. Hope to see you there! --Skizzerz 04:02, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Can you help? I made a new category page on Back to the Future: The Game and proper category placement is not working. Is there something I don't understand?
