At the start of this section, Chris and Sheva are standing on a dock next to a boat
Run up the small dock and pick up the first piece of the slate. On the left is a skull with a gem on it. Slice at it with the knife and then pick it up. To the right is a Jeweled Beetle hanging on a pillar (you can grab it without hitting it).
Go back to the dock and get on the boat.
From the initial island, drive north and follow the yellow objective (the same location as the locked door symbol). Get off at the island there and insert the first piece of the slate into the door. To the right is a small fenced area with a scroll on the ground. Pick it up and three locations will be marked on the mini-map. These are the locations of the remaining slate sections. Shoot the BSAA emblem in the distance on the wire (this can't be done without a rifle) and get back on the boat.
Now go to an island in the middle of the map. You'll find a bunch of chickens and a hut. Shoot under the hut and you'll find a BSAA emblem. The last emblem for now will be on an island to the northeast of the map. Look up in the rafters of a shelter and there should be a BSAA emblem.
Finding the Slates[edit]
Raptor Slate[edit]
Go to the right of the island where you have to piece the slates together and you'll hit another island. Run into the water but watch out for the crocodiles - no matter the difficulty level, they kill you in one shot. Now climb up the ladder and jump into the window of the first hut. Defeat the new Majini and leave through the door to the next hut. Open the chest and you'll find the Raptor Slate. Leave the island through the way you came (again while watching out for the crocodiles) and head back to the boat.
Shaman Slate[edit]
Now go to the island to the north of the starting island. From where you enter, shoot down the skull for a jewel and enter the village. You'll see another skull on the doorway of a hut. Shoot that one for another reward. Head forward and boost your partner/be boosted up to the hut on the left. Open up the chest and obtain the Silver Idol. Now do the same for the hut on the right to obtain the Shaman Slate. Once you grab it, Majini will start to attack. Escape the ambush, get back to the boat, and move on to the next island.
Warrior Slate[edit]
Now for the final slate. Go to the island to the south of the initial island. Get through the swerving path and find the dock. Once you land, head over to the middle and open up the chest for a Silver Idol. Go the hut past it and then the hut next to that to find a chest containing the Warrior Slate. Afterward, you'll be able to exit the island and go to the boat but don't think you're done with this island just yet. Along the way, your path will be blocked and you'll have to shoot the Majini high up in the hut right next to the blocked gate (while dealing with the others are a hassle, it isn't necessary to kill them).
Through the Door[edit]

Head back to the initial island (it should be the only island marked on the map now) and insert all of the slates you collected. The door will be unlocked and you and your partner will be able to open it. Now jump down into the marshes, turn around and shoot the BSAA emblem. Head on forward now and trigger an ambush by either going to the path to the right of the inaccessible bridge or going into the middle of the trap where spikes rise to trap you. Two larger Majinis will also be there to attack, and they'll drop jewels. After you take care of them all, either have your partner or you go to the path to the right of the bridge and turn the crank while the other crosses the bridge. Whoever crossed the bridge will have to go up the stairs and get the door open for their partner. After the door is open, go forward and into the tunnel. Follow the path for a treasure in a chest, and then go back and go to the other route. Jump across the bridge and go with your partner onto the cable car-like contraption. Here the chapter will end.
