Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello HIKARIxz! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- najzereT 17:25, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Dangerous Blue Mushroom[edit]

Hi, does Dangerous Blue Mushroom look the same as a Blue Mushroom? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

yea everything is was the same except for the name on the bottom said Dangerous Blue Mushroom. ~ HIKARIxz

MapleStory/Job guide/Equipment pages[edit]

I'm trying to subpage all of the current tables to the new item pages (i.e. MapleStory/Claws). The equipment in MapleStory rarely warrants much additional information, and would better be suited on the main guide page for the job. Actually, a MapleStory/Equipment guide may be a better choice for additional notes on how to best acquire the equipment and scrolls for the various classes. Anyways, please check the item pages before adding equipment data, as you may be adding duplicates. Thanks, --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 06:59, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Image uploads[edit]

Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. In the future, your image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need to have the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 07:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

For MapleStory item images, please name the image as "MS Item Full_Item_Name" (where Full_Item_Name is the name that appears on the item's tooltip) and remember to include Category:MapleStory item images. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 07:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
You need to start putting an image category along with the guide-specific category on your uploads. For example, I've tagged your latest uploads with [[Category:Items]]. — najzereT
You've uploaded another three images without proper categorization, so consider this your third warning. Also, if you put the categories in the summary when you upload them, you won't have to go back in afterwards to add them. — najzereT 16:10, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

You've been blocked from editing (and uploading) for two hours. When you come back, please put the correct categories in your uploads as outlined above, and do so in the Summary section when you upload so you're not making an additional, needless edit for every image you add. — najzereT 23:24, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Preload buttons[edit]

Here's what the buttons look like.

Hi, please use the preload buttons located above the edit text box when creating a new page. These buttons will insert the needed templates and formatting for you, which helps keep uniformity across the wiki. — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:10, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

This is another reminder to use the preload buttons. If you're not going to simply click a button when you start a new page, then it's up to you to make sure the Header and Footer Navs are in place. Your latest page, MapleStory/iTCG, is missing the Footer Nav. — najzereT 15:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Navs[edit]

In the future, when making pages, please be sure to create navs at the top and bottom of a page. The navs contain a lot of useful links and are standard for pretty much everything. Add {{Header Nav|game=GAMENAMEHERE}} at the top and {{Footer Nav|game=GAMENAMEHERE|prevpage=PREVIOUSPAGE|nextpage=NEXTPAGE}} at the bottom. If in doubt, copy and paste, then change things accordingly. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 15:25, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Consolidate your edits[edit]

Hi, thanks for your contributions. Please use full page editing and the preview button to help reduce the amount of edits to the pages you're working on. You can edit the entire page by clicking the "Edit" tab at the top of the page. Take your time to work out all of the changes you are going to make before submitting. Multiple minor edits makes it harder to use a page's history, and an administrator has to patrol every one of them. Thanks, — najzereT 15:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

I kinda have been trying to but the "dump" thing is making it extreamly hard to navigate in edit. ~ HIKARIxz

I have no idea what you're talking about, just edit the whole page and use the show preview button until you have everything set. If you're having a hard time for whatever reason, build your writeup in a text editor offline, then copy it to StrategyWiki and make your adjustments before saving. — najzereT 16:10, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
He's referring to the 80K of data that I dropped into MapleStory/Drops. Hikari, just use a text editor. How do you think I managed to add all of that in one edit? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:26, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Wow, after seeing the edit history for that page... Hikari you need to take much more time when you're editing. If you don't, one of the admins may ban you for causing more work for us than necessary. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't think anyone has reminded you of this yet, but use the preview button and the show changes button to try and reduce the chance of submitting errors. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

You need to start using the data that's already on the page, rather than adding your own entries. You're making unnecessary duplicates that are meant to be integrated correctly. For example the changes you've made to Leather are unnecessary because farther down the page was a listing of every monster that drops it. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 22:33, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
