You need to start learning how to use GIMP. GIMP is a free art program that a lot of people use. It's incredibly powerful and has a lot of tools and options. It's the program I use to create those enhanced sprites. Start downloading GIMP and get familiar with how to use it, and you'll be able to get a lot more creative with the sprites than you are today.
