Hi Negative1.  Thanks for contributing to the RR guide, but unfortunately, all of your image files have to be renamed.  It not just SW policy, but for the benefit of other users that you prefix image filenames with the name of game that the image comes from.  If you could begin that process, it would be much appreciated.  Otherwise, you've created a lot of work for a sysop to take care of, and they are already quite busy.  Either "Move" each image to the corrected file name, or reupload them with proper file names, and then tag the original file with <nowiki>{{delete}}</nowiki> so that a sysop knows it can be deleted.  Thanks very much for your help with this.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 14:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

how do i rename the file?
i don't see that option when i go to edit the image?
yeah, i could re-upload them.. but a rename would be faster..
also, how do i get removed from the stage 0 completion?
i can't seem to edit that either..
03:29, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
:To rename, just "Move" the file to the correct name.  It's up there at the top next to edit.  The completion stage is the "num" field in the Header Nav of the front guide page.  Please read the [[StrategyWiki:Guide|StrategyWiki Guide]] a little more closely.  A lot of people put a great amount of time into it to make sure that all of these questions would be answered.  Thanks.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 14:33, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

==Edit summaries==
Edit summaries help other users see what your intentions were when you change a page. Every edit to the wiki is patrolled, and the [[administrators]] are responsible for catching and fixing vandalism. Please include a short summary of the changes you make so that your much-valued contributions aren't reverted in error. Thanks for your help! — [[User:Moydow|<font color="green">Moy</font><font color="orange">dow</font>]] [[User talk:Moydow|<font color="blue">(ta</font><font color="gold">lk)</font>]] 16:22, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
==Easier editing==
The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. ==New images==
Why are you uploading new images? Now we have a bunch of orphaned images that will need to be deleted. Next time, just upload a new version over the existing file. Also, are the bonus images you uploaded to [[Ms. Pac-Man/Getting Started]] supposed to have transparent backgrounds? Because the filetype you used (JPEG) doesn't support transparency. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 21:43, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
ok, i'll do that.. i didn't know if the someone wanted to
keep the old versions around...they looked kind of plain
compared to the nice 3d ones.. i've been trying to get
that script to work in Gimp 2.2,but it doesn't seem
to find it, so i can't get it working properly..hmmm
i'll have to work on that..
no transparency...just the file name called trans3d..
i'll make it more consistent..
[[User:Negative1|Negative1]] 21:48, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
:The older image is kept in the version history, as can be seen on [[:File:Centipede Safety.png]], which you uploaded a new version of. I can't upload .scm extensions any more, so maybe I'll upload the GIMP script as a text file later on tonight. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 22:07, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
i have the script, its just that GIMP can't find it.. i've put it in
the programs directory, and the local directory.. and even when i refresh
the script-fu it just doesn't show up. even after i've closed down the
program... i haven't used GIMP before, so its kind of confusing.. and
i can't enter the commands into the console either..
--[[User:Negative1|Negative1]] 22:13, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
:Assuming you're using Windows, it's usually in <tt>\share\gimp\2.0\scripts</tt>. Also, it's accessed by going into "Image" on the menu bar, then into "Transform". Hope that helps. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 22:42, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
getting closer...(some images don't work.. i think only pngs?)..
but i still get an error... script-fu-2Dimage-3Dimage 64 210 2 15 2 4 '(0 0 0) 50)
ERROR:unbound variable (errobj gimp-image-scale-full)..
maybe they have to be a certain size also?
for example, try some of the old bonus symbol sprites from dig dug...
that's what i was trying to use..
--[[User:Negative1|Negative1]] 23:05, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
:I'll check it out when I get home. GIMP doesn't consider the working file to be any sort of format (except its native XCF file) until you save. You definitely have to add transparency to the image though ({{menu|1|L|ayer}} → {{menu|2|Tr|a|nsparency}} → {{menu|2|Add Alpha C|h|annel}}). The error might be from an incompatibility in the script (it was written a while ago, and you probably have a newer version of GIMP). Hopefully when I upload the new script that will solve the problem. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 23:34, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
== Ms. Pac-Man edits ==
Hey Negative1.  I appreciate the effort you're making on the Ms. Pac-Man guide, but I've had to undo a number of your edits.  We don't include information about compilation inclusions on the actual guide, especially when they are so close to the original.  If there is something worth noting about the version in the compilation, it should be mentioned on the compilation guide, not the game guide itself.
Also, please please please do not add early carriage returns at the end of your lines.  They make it difficult for other people to edit after you.  Type to the end of the line, and do not hit return until you are finished with a paragraph.  And finally, don't add a cover to the cover gallery if it's already in the infobox, it makes no sense to duplicate the image.
It would be really helpful if you can add new information about games that we don't have guides for, as opposed to adding small details about existing games unless it genuinely enhances the guide.  Thanks.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 00:52, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
:thanks for the information... the problem is, that the small differences actually do make the gameplay change. Whether its an emulation or a port. I've been playing through a lot of them, and that's why there are noticeable differences.
:The reason I put the differences on the Home versions, is because there isn't really anything to add to the gameplay strategy. Especially on older games.
:As far as compilations go, I would expect users with modern systems to be able to find the game (XBOX/Dreamcast/Playstation etc), and if they didn't know it existed. Why compare the home versions?
:I noticed you removed the Gameboy Advance versions, both are different from the Gameboy and Gameboy color versions.
:Lastly, I only play older games, and noticed a lot of information missing on those, and thats why I was concentrating my effort on those. I don't play many newer games, and most of them already have guides, and a lot more information up than I would.
:Thanks for the comments. --[[User:Negative1|Negative1]] 00:58, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
::First, it helps to distinguish your response from the previous person's post by indenting your response with ":"s.  I added them in for you.
::Next, it's fine to mention the subtle differences found in compilations such as the [[Namco Museum]] series, but put it on the [[Namco Museum]] page.
::Finally, Ms. Pac-Man does not belong in the GBA, DC, PS2, or GC category, because we only add a game to a system category if it actually came out under that title.  No cartridge came out for the GBA with the actual title "Ms. Pac-Man", where as one did for the GB and GBC.  That's why the other systems were removed.  You can see what games are related to Ms. Pac-Man (like Namco Museum) by clicking the "What links here" link in the toolbox to the right.
