The following is a list of controls for Mother 3:
: Controls your character(s) and their movements, along with the movement of the arrows on the selection screens.
: Used to "Talk", "Examine", and confirm menu selections.
: Used to "Dash" and cancel menus.
: Used to "Talk" and "Examine", as well as scroll between party members in menus.
: Shows area map (if available), as well as scroll between party members in menus.
: Shows main menu.
: Displays HP/PP, toggles display of item pictures in inventory during battle.
