Weapons[edit]

This is the most basic weapon, and the weapon that you start the game with. It is a small three pronged throwing stick, and it can be thrown across water. It does the least damage, but it moves the fastest and can have up to three flying.

Collect the lotus leaves to gain the ability to throw fire. It is more powerful than your original weapon, but it moves a little slower and can only have up to two flying.

Possession of the monk beads gives you the ability to toss large boulders. It does the most damage, but it is constantly pulled down by gravity such that it can't cross water, and only one boulder can exist at the same time.

This is a unique weapon. When you use it, a card will go forward and become three projectiles that fly across, each one a tile apart. It is a very useful weapon for attacking more than one enemy at a time, and it deals more damage than fire, but it takes a long time to launch, and can only be cast again after all projectiles hit or leave.

The mystery tile awards a varying amount of points, from 100 to 5000.
The book opens the exit to the next area. It will only appear when you have revealed all of the hidden seals, and it will eliminate all of the enemies for a short period of time.
Collect a heart to restore one lost unit of health.
Collect a potion to completely refill your life meter, and extend your meter by one point, up to a maximum of six points.
Find the cloth early in the game to cut the amount of damage you take from attacks in half.
This rarely seen "spirit" icon will grant you one extra life.
The blue orb will freeze time temporarily. It somehow sounds like a stopwatch from another Konami game...
The red orb will remove enemies from the stage, like the book, but its effect won't last as long.
You'll need to obtain the key in order to gain access to the interior of the third area.
The mirror is required to earn the right to challenge the boss of the third area.
