Template:Future video game Template:Infobox CVG Disgaea 3 (魔界戦記ディスガイア3 Makai Senki Disgaea?) is the next video game in the Disgaea series by Nippon Ichi. The game will be released in 2008 on the PlayStation 3 video game console.
Story
The game takes place in a Netherworld School. In this demon school, a good student is one who engages in delinquent activities, such as ditching classes or not doing homework. The one who is the most accomplished in all of those activities is called the Honor Student. Mao, the son of an Overlord, has not once attended class since the beginning of school and was known as the honor-student. His ambition for the future is to overthrow his father and take his title for himself. One day, he learns "heroes are the ones who defeat devils" from watching a cartoon. From that point on, Mao became resolved to become a hero himself, convinced it will help him achieve his goal.
After some time, Raspberyl, the defective girl of the school, learns about the Mao's goal, and becomes agitated. If Mao achieves the status of a hero, then it would endanger her title of the school's "Number One Delinquent". She then decide to follow Mao, to stop his plans and once again secure her title. However since Raspberyl is a demon delinquent, she tries to solve this without violence and tries to talk him out of it instead. Seeing this from a distance, Almaz misunderstands the situation and tries to save the day. Mao then accepts the challenge and defeats him, stealing Almaz's title of hero. With that title, Mao intends to defeat his father and achieve his goal of becoming an Overlord.
Characters
- Mao (マオ Mao?): An Honor Student at a Private Netherworld School. He is the elite of the elite, he skips class, doesn't do homework, and is an overall bad boy. Mao's hobbies include mischief and evil research, such as experimentation on people. His dislike involve humans and heroes, yet studies them through games and manga. His reason is so that he can become a Hero to defeat his father, an Overlord, and take his title. He also has an evilness rating of 1,800,000.
- Raspberyl (ラズベリル Razuberiru?): Childhood friend of Mao, who goes by the name Beryl. She's considered a "delinquent" by Netherworld standards because she does her homework, volunteers, goes to class early, and is an overall wonderful student. She dislikes acting uncool and her dreams for the future involve becoming the Legendary Delinquent.
- Almaz (アルマース Arumasu?): Almaz is a hero fanboy, he knows everything there needs to know about heroes. He seems very passionate about them, but he's not a very good one in the making. He likes a princess, and admires the person known as "Super Hero". On the other hand, he dislikes demons because they do stuff like kidnap his princess, which makes him very upset. He wishes to become a great hero like the Super Hero so he can protect his princess from being kidnapped.
- Jiiya (じいや Jiiya?): This old gentleman is a very loyal demon to Mao, even becoming over protective in certain situations. He's known to cover his failures by laughing them off. His wish and future is goal to help Mao grow up to be a great Overlord, and dislikes people who get in the way of that.
