The singing fairies[edit]

The townsfolk in Deirus speak of fairies that sing at a cape, and a book which can teach you the Fairy language. Finding both will help you in your search for the fifth and final elemental sword.

It just so happens that the soldiers in Bell are familiar with that book, and that it can be found within a cave to the south of Sull Town. Both the town and the cave are found close to the east coast of the land.

Cave South of Sull[edit]

The monsters in this cave are like enhanced versions of the enemies that you regularly meet outdoors. While you may be familiar with the sight of snakes, wasps, and scorpions, the variety found in the cave pack significantly more punch. Ideally, you should be around level 13 before you attempt to tackle this cave. Water shield magic helps immensely as well.

  • North entrance: This entrance leads to a limited and blocked off portion of the cavern.
  • East and south entrances: A powerful weapon, the Flail, can be found a short distance north from the south entrance.
  • South-west area (west entrance): When you enter into this section, you will see four tunnels traveling into the section to the north. To reach those tunnels, you must cross east to the middle pathway which leads to the east section of the cave. From there, you must head up and then back to the west to reach the innermost tunnels.
  • Innermost tunnels: There are four tunnels which lead up to the northern part of the cave. The right three lead to treasures, but only the second tunnel from the left leads to the treasure that you're ultimately looking for: The Book of Fairies.

Head to the cape[edit]

The cape in question where you are meant to use your nely acquired book to listen to the fairies, is in the southwest region of the land, just to the east of a cemetery If you arrive at the cape and face the right direction, the Fairies will tell you that the leader of Zandor has been taken to the North Tower. That will be your next destination.

North Tower[edit]

To reach the North Tower, you will need to use the Earth Magic water-breathing spell Dungeon Magic rune earth 3.png Dungeon Magic rune earth 3.png, to head to the northeast region of the land, where you'll find a small island off the north coast. On the west side of that island is a tower. Step inside to rescue Zandor's leader Taz.

  • Ground floor: Tarantulas are everywhere, but they are relatively weak compared to the other two tough enemies that you'll face in the tower. Your ultimate destination is the very center of the floor, where you'll find the staircase up.
  • Floor 1: Shaped like a giant spiral, you'll start in the middle of the floor and have to work your way outward in ever expanding circles. While there are a few more spiders to fight here, the real challenge comes in the form of Warriors who posses incredible strength as well as defense. You may not find these fighters to be so easy to take down, so bring plenty of red potions to keep your health, and therefore you offensive strength, as high as possible. Don't miss the opportunity to collect a Silver Sword from this floor, the best weapon you can wield.
  • Floor 2: Your goal resides on this floor. The Sword of Wind is in the center, but there are very powerful enemies standing in your way. In addition to Warriors and Tarantulas, you will now meet Warlocks who cast devastating spells. They are often found behind doors, which makes fighting them especially difficult since stepping back to avoid their magic also causes the doors to close. In addition to the sword, you'll also find a Silver Helmet in the west area of this floor.

Return to Zandor[edit]

Once you collect the Sword of Wind, bring it back to Zandor, and Taz will be saved. Bring the sword to Zandor's wizard, and you will be apprenticed to the school of Wind magic. You now have all of the magic runes available in the game and can cast any spell. But it's Fairy magic that you're going to need to reach your next goal: the Sky World.
