Basically, the controls are {{gc|A}}, {{gc|L}}, or {{gc|R}} to charge, doing so will stop your vehicle, charge(of course), and give a speed boost. Kirby will accelerate automatically, and holding {{gc|A}} will cause him to go into a brake and charge. Releasing {{gc|A}} will result in a boost.
