This is how the story goes. This whole scenario is a flashback to how things happen, who the people were and how the game works.
You start in a sprint race with Razor near the end before your car slows to a halt. Before that, you do a sprint with Razor's man so you get to meet who's who. Also Sergeant Cross is introduced as someone you wouldn't be friends with.
Continuing in a flashback, you do a circuit race before you go in a sprint race with Razor at that moment. Even with the police encounter, by the end your car stops to a halt, Razor wins your car and Sergeant Cross arrests you without your ride.
Fortunately for you, Cross can't charge you without your car that Razor keeps at the moment. Mia takes you to her garage and tells you to beat all the blacklist to get back to Razor who's currently Blacklist 1. So pick your car and get ready to take on his crew!
