General Info

Gameplay is for 1 player in Story Mode, and 1-4 players in Battle Mode.

Story Mode

Go through the story as one of the 10 playable characters. As the story unfolds, you will go through 6 battles. They can have variant rules, including one type where you can't use your attacks, and have to win a Special Event as the match instead.

Battle Mode

In battle mode, you can select either 1 Player Challenge, or 1-4 players battles.

  • 1 Player Challenge: Fight through as many battles as you can.
  • 1-4 player battles: Essentially your standard mode. Can be done as free-for-all, or teams of 2vs.2. Can set the time limit, turn on/off Special Events, choose the field, etc.

Pactio

While in Pactio Form, your attacks won't change in strength with the Magic Meter. It becomes the time limit for the Pactio, and will slowly deplete; when it runs out the Pactio ends. Also, touching a Pactio Card while under the influence of a Pactio will make the card vanish instantly with no effect (you can do this to prevent opponents from using it).

Selecting a Pactio

  • 1a) Move Nunchuk in a circle motion to affect the cards' rotation.
  • 1b) Pull the Wii-mote back to select the Pactio.
  • 2) Just let it be random (do nothing).

Suka Pactio (GREEN CARD)

  • Changes your attacks to something pathetic.
  • Can't recover during aerial knockback.
  • Can't pick anything up. (Can still recover health)
  • Can become BIG. Get a certain item to do this (not sure what).
    • does that have a beneficial situation???

Cosplay Pactio (BLUE CARD)

  • Powers up your attacks
  • (It seems like characters in Cosplay Pactio mode take less/no damage/knockback?)
  • (Anything else?)

Armor Pactio (RED CARD)

  • Invincible while Armor Pactio is active.
  • Super Attack: Trigger with [A]+[B]+Wii-mote (pull back); depletes Magic Meter.

Playable Characters (10)

Mainly just detailing their attacks. The attack names are NOT the official ones (if there is any).

Negi Springfield

  • Basic Attack: Air burst (1-hit combo; wide hit area, does NOT hit right in front of him, so enemies can get so close they won't be hurt)
  • Ranged Attack: Light Bolts, 3-shot (slightly homing attack; reduces in range, accuracy, and number of shots as Magic Meter gets lower; Like Air Burst, can not hit opponents at point-blank)
  • Magister Arts: (Does SOMETHING involving items; has to be used near an item, after which it glows for a while)
  • Dash Attack: ???
  • "Cosplay Card": Ranged is more accurate (maybe stronger)
  • "Armor Pactio Attack": Wind Gale (controlled attack; rotate angle, slow rotation)
    • Negi doesn't actually have a Pactio in this game (notice that his "cards" are faded), so he either becomes a Chupacabra (Suka), or get's powered up. I don't know if he has an Armor equivalent...
      • He hadn't done one in the books at the time this was released; he has since done so, and uses it to EPIC effect! (His gives him the ability to call upon the Artifact of ANY person he has made a Pactio with, such as Asuna's Magic/Ki-Cancelling-Harisen!!!).

Kagazakura Asuna

  • Basic Attack: Harisen Punishment (3-hit combo)
  • Ranged Attack: Boot To The Head!
  • Magister Arts: This is Harisen! (Very powerful knock-back; can easy send opponents over the edge for free damage)
  • Dash Attack: ???
  • Cosplay Card: Basic Attack is more powerful, Ranged Attack goes farther
  • Armor Pactio Attack: Ensis Exorcizans! (Powerful, multi-strike attack; linear movement/striking range)

Konoe Konoka

    • Konoka's hop goes forwards instead of backwards
  • Basic Attack: Piko-Piko Hammer! (1-hit combo) (has slightly extra stun, so it can allow for a possible combo)
  • Ranged Attack: Piko-Piko Hammer Toss!
  • Magister Arts: Mega Piko-Piko Hammer! (Wide-hitting, medium knock-back; creates a burst of wind that pushes items, instead of destroying them)
  • Dash Attack: ???
  • Cosplay Card: Attacks become a bit stronger
  • Armor Pactio Attack: Flabellum Euri! (Large-area attack; wave the Wii remote to boost it.)
    • Ironically, her power in the story is to heal wounds (even lethal ones, within three minutes) with her Artifact.

Miyazaki Nodoka

  • Basic Attack: Book (1-hit combo)
  • Ranged Attack: Tripping ('trips' forward and tosses three books to attack. Reduces to one book when low Magic Meter.)
  • Magister Arts: Book Trap (up to two can exist at a time; laying a third detonates the first)
  • Dash Attack: ???
  • Cosplay Card: ???
  • Armor Pactio Attack: Diarium Ejus! (Summons a giant book to attack in front of herself)

  • Magister Arts: Ice Burst (Freeze an area in front of you, as well as anyone caught in it)
  • Dash Attack: ???

Support Characters (22)

Sorted by effect type and how much it affects.

  • As it currently is... I really am not sure exactly what any of the effects are.

Stages

There are 6 Stages available in the game, though you can only select 5 to play on at first. (I don't know if the last one can be unlocked for standard play. Also, I don't know their names, so I've just numbered them for now, and put the descriptions. Hopefully this will be corrected correctly.)

  • Sometimes, swarms of creatures will appear and attack the players. Beware of them.

(Stage 1)

(Mahora Courtyard)

(Stage 2)

(the Bridge at night; occasionally the center area will suddenly tilt, making it more likely to get dumped off the edge; also the side areas might retract, making a large hole, sometimes right under you...)

(Stage 3)

(Ruins?; stone faces in the corners will occasionally shoot fire either across the sides of the field or diagonally through the center [their eyes glow orange before they fire])

(Stage 4)

(Behind Mahora Gakuen's giant clock?; has rotating areas, as well as two tread areas. There are statues that can be attacked to reverse the direction of the rotating. The treads lead to drop-offs.

(Stage 5)

(Mahora Library; a statue might appear that when attacked drops a giant washpan on the main field area; )

(Stage 6)

(no special details yet, other than it's not available from the beginning)

Special Events

These are kind of like mini-games that occur during a battle, but do matter afterwards. (the names are not official, or even necessarily correct; hopefully this can be corrected)

  • Several can appear in one battle, but never at the same time.
  • However, in Story Mode, there are some battles that are really just the mini-game, during which you can't use attacks to win.

Collect the Coins

Touch the coins to get points. There are Bronze (1 pt.), Silver (3 pts.), and Gold (5 pts.) coins. (They are officially called Coins)

Break the Statuettes

Attack a Statuette to get a point. Use wide-hitting attacks to destroy them faster (and before your opponents).

"Chick" Toss

Pick up a "chick" and toss it into the "magic well" (located around the center of the field) to get a point.

Defeat the Mogura

Attack the Mogura (large, bunny-like; appear via spell-circles) to get points. Be careful, the Mogura can also attack you! (They are officially called Mogura)

Gather the creatures

Pick up creatures and toss them into the cup that is by where you started.

  • You can also pick up explosives to throw into opponent's cups and reduce the number of creatures in their cup.

Items

There are various items that will appear during gameplay. Here we'll detail what they do.

Touch-trigger Items

  • Manjuu/other food stuff: Healing
  • Some food (or food-like?) items: restore Magic Meter
  • Pactio Card: Triggers Pactio Mode (invincible while transforming)

Throwing Items

Some items have variant appearances, based on the Stage being fought on.

  • Crate: Throw to do damage. When it breaks open, it releases several various items.
  • Freeze Ball: Pick up and throw to freeze opponent(s)
  • Flame Ball: Pick up and throw to injure opponent(s) and set them on fire (does continuous damage for a while)
  • Smoke Ball: Pick up and throw to injure opponent(s), also does knockback
  • Bomb: Pick up and throw to injure opponent(s). Detonates on impact, or after a time period.
  • Time Bomb: Pick up and throw to injure opponent(s). Detonates after a time period.
  • Bowl of Ramen: Pick up and throw to do damage, with maybe strong knockback. (HUH?! and does it do anything else?)

Controls

Wii Remote+Nunchuk

  • Move: [D-stick] (on Nunchuk)
  • Jump: [C]
    • Also used to recover from being launched by an attack (use in the air).
  • Hop backwards: [Z]
  • Standard Attacks:
    • [A]: Basic Attack (either a single strike, or can combo; depends on character)
      • Doing a Combo while swinging the Wii Remote makes for stronger final hit?
    • [B]: Ranged Attack (power varies with Magic Meter)
    • [A]+[B]: マギステル·アーツ (Magister Arts) (varies by character)
    • [Z, supposedly]: dash attack (HOW do you do this instead of the hop backwards!? I don't even know of a way to "dash" in this game.)
      • I'm starting to believe this is a hoax attack...
    • Armor Pactio Attack: [A]+[B]+[pull Wii Remote backwards]
      • During this attack, either the D-stick or moving the Wii Remote may affect the attack (such as Negi's; the D-stick lets you control it's direction)
  • Grab item: [Down] (on Wii Remote's D-pad)
    • To throw the item, either hit [Down] again, hit [A], or shake the Wii Remote, whatever is more efficient for you.
    • While holding an item, jumping and throwing the item are all you can do.
  • Pause: [1]

Wii Remote (sideways)

  • Move: [D-pad]
  • Jump: [shake Wii Remote]
    • Also used to recover from being launched by an attack (use in the air)?
  • Hop backwards: [A]

    • [2]: Ranged Attack (power varies with Magic Meter)
    • [1]+[2]: マギステル·アーツ (Magister Arts) (varies by character)
    • [???]: Dash Attack
    • Armor Pactio Attack: [???]
  • Grab item: [+]
