Tips & Hints

  • To pray, hold two of any of the shoulder buttons on the PlayStation. By praying long enough with a Slig in the same room, Abe can take control of the Slig and use him to kill other enemies. When you're finished with the Slig, Abe can pray again to make the Slig explode. Watch out for the Anti-Praying Floating Robots around the area; they'll zap you for praying. And if you have a grenade in your hand, you'll drop it and get an explosive surprise!
  • Learn how to Long Jump (run and jump) and how to time these correctly. You can practice this at just about any leaping spot. Try to figure out exactly where to jump to land hanging on to the opposite edge. This will come in handy for Secret Areas later.
  • Practice throwing grenades and rocks. Pressing forward (the direction Abe is facing) the rock will go far in that direction, pressing the opposite direction will throw it upwards, pressing upwards will make it go a bit higher, and pressing down will make Abe aim downward. Practice crouching and throwing to allow for less high, but sometimes more distant throws. Also, practice holding a grenade for a little over 2 seconds and then throw it, allowing it to blow up mid-air. Beware, though, it might explode in Abe's hands!
  • For blinking bombs, you can set them. To turn them off while crouching, watch for the light to turn green (each one has a unique pattern) and then press Playstation-Button-S.png to de-activate it. Just press Playstation-Button-S.png next to it again to re-activate it. These can be useful to blow up enemies, but can also kill those mindless Mudukons Abe's saving!
  • Sneaking allows you to creep past your enemy unnoticed (they enjoy sleeping a lot).
  • Realize that you can only take one Mudukon at a time, but as many as you want can leap through the same Bird Portal.
