Pistol Daimyo no Bouken/World 2

From StrategyWiki, the video game walkthrough and strategy guide wiki

Area 1 (Stage 2)[edit]

Once Pistol Daimyo has reappeared on the screen, he will start to move forward again, as three Green Kaeru come bouncing towards him at the bottom of the screen; once you have fired a small cannonball at each of these to kill them, six Suzume and a Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired a small cannonball at each of those Suzume to kill them and gone around the Kappa No Sara, a Purple Kaeru will drop down from the top of the screen and come bouncing towards you once he has landed on the ground - and once you've fired a small cannonball at him to kill him a Black Kaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at him to kill him, you'll come to the first of only three yellow vases in the game; once you've fired a medium cannonball at this to break it open it will leave a shot powerup behind. Once you've collected it ten more Suzume will come flying towards you in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired a small cannonball at each of these, to kill them, a Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired two medium cannonballs (or one large one) at him to kill him, four more Purple Kaeru will drop down from the top of the screen, then come bouncing towards you once they have landed on the ground; once you've fired a small cannonball at each of them to kill them thirteen more Suzume will come flying towards you in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired a small cannonball at each of them to kill them, Pistol Daimyo will stop moving forward for a second time as the game's second boss theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and the unseen Yellow Gama Gaeru speaks the Hiragana text Gero-ge ero! (げろげえろ!) to him thrice (his Waru meter, comprised of three Waru, will also appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen at this point) - and he will now come bouncing into view towards you from the right side of the screen. Once you've fired two medium cannonballs (or one large one) at the large green Kaeru standing on the purple seat atop his head to knock him off for 200 extra points then fired a total of forty-eight small cannonballs, six medium cannonballs or three large cannonballs at the Yellow Gama Gaeru himself (as both eight small cannonballs and a medium cannonball will register half a cross on the Waru meter and a large cannonball will register a full cross on it), the "stage clear" theme will be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a second time, as the aforementioned purple seat on his head explodes for 500 extra points and he falls off the bottom of the screen for 3500 while speaking the explosive Hiragana/Katakana text Kero ro ōo n keron! (けろろオオオん けろんっ!) to Pistol Daimyo, who will fly off the screen's right side; the view will now return to the overworld map as the first lantern on the top row (which had represented this stage) changes its colour from yellow to red, and the fan that indicates Pistol Daimyo's current position will then move forward to (and unfold over) the second lantern on the top row (which represents the game's third stage).

Area 2 (Stage 3)[edit]

Once Pistol Daimyo has reappeared on the screen, he will start moving forwards once again as three Kokappa come flying towards him in the centre of, at the top of and at the bottom of the screen; once you have fired a medium cannonball at each of them to kill them, two Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you in the centre of and at the bottom of the screen. Once you've gone around them, three Red Kaeru will drop down from the top of the screen then start bouncing towards you once they've landed on the surface of the water (remember that Pistol Daimyo's cannonballs cannot do this) - and once you've fired a medium cannonball at each of them to kill them, three more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you in the centre of, at the top of and at the bottom of the screen. Once you've gone around them, thirteen Suzume will come flying towards you, in the centre of the screen; once you've fired a small cannonball at each of them to kill them, a normal Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired two medium cannonballs (or one large one) at him, to kill him, three Kaeru (two Green and one Black), will come bouncing towards you, at the bottom of the screen - and once you've fired a small cannonball at both of those Green ones to kill them and a medium cannonball at the Black one to kill him, you will come to a blue vase. Once you've fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open it will leave a Hanafuda card behind; once you have collected it, a Kusudama will drop down into view from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open before it goes back up off that top of the screen again (and if it does, you will obviously have to collect three more Hanafuda cards to make another one appear), it will leave a suit of wooden armour behind - and once you've put it on, seven more Red Kaeru will drop down from the screen, and start bouncing towards you once they have landed on the surface of the water. Once you've fired a medium cannonball at each of these, to kill them, another Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen; once you've fired two medium cannonballs or one large one at him, to kill him, a sixth Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of the screen. Once you've gone around it, five more Suzume will come flying towards you, in the centre of the screen - and once you've fired a small cannonball at each of them to kill them, a third Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired two medium cannonballs or one large one at him to kill him, four more Kokappa will come flying towards you in the centre of, at the top of, and at the bottom of the screen; once you've fired a medium cannonball at them to kill them ten more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of, in the centre of, and at the bottom of the screen. Once you've gone around them, the first boss theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a second time as Kapa Kepe Kohoon emerges from the water and speaks the Katakana text Kepepekkapakepekohōn. (ケペ ペッ カパ ケペ コホオン) twice to Pistol Daimyo (his Waru meter, comprised of three Waru will also appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen at this point) - and he will now start hovering across the surface of the water while jumping out of his protective tornado to throw six miniaturized Kappa No Sara at you (which you can now only afford to get hit by one of). Once you have fired a total of forty-eight small cannonballs, six small cannonballs, or three large cannonballs at him while he is out of the protective tornado (as both eight small cannonballs and a medium cannonball will register half a cross on that Waru meter, and a large cannonball will register a full cross on it; the medium and large cannonballs can also be fired into the protective tornado), the tornado will explode and the game's "stage clear" theme will be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for the third time, as he stops spinning in a clockwise direction, faces out of the cabinet, and speaks that explosive Hiragana text Ka pappa! Ru n pappa! (かっぱっぱ! るんぱっぱ!), to Pistol Daimyo, before fainting and disappearing in a puff of smoke. Pistol Daimyo will then fly off the screen's right side - and the view will now return to the overworld map, as that second lantern on the top row (which had represented this stage) changes its colour from yellow to red, and the fan which is indicating Pistol Daimyo's current position will then move forward to and unfold over the third lantern on the top row, which represents the game's fourth stage. Kapa Kepe Kohoon also looks like this: PD Kapa Kepe Kohoon (No Tornado).gif

Area 3 (Stage 4)[edit]

Once Pistol Daimyo has reappeared on the screen, he will start moving forward yet again as a Kappa No Sara comes flying towards him at the top of the screen; once you've gone around it, five Red Kaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you've fired a medium cannonball at each of them to kill them, seven more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of the screen - and once you have gone round them, five Purple Kaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you've fired a small cannonball at each of these to kill them, you'll come to a blue vase; once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open, it will leave a Hanafuda card behind. Once you have collected the card, it will be displayed in that top-right corner of the screen - and seven more Kaeru (three Red, three Purple, and one Black) will then come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen. Once you've fired a medium cannonball at each of the Red ones (and the Black one) to kill them and a small cannonball at each of the Purple ones to kill them, you will come to another blue vase; once you have fired a medium cannonball at it, to break it open, it will leave a Hanafuda card behind. Once you have collected it, it will be displayed in that top-right corner of the screen next to the first one - and two more Kappa No Sara will then come flying towards you, at the top of the screen. Once you've gone around them, ten more Purple Kaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen; once you've fired a small cannonball at each of these to kill them an eleventh Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of the screen. Once you have gone around it, two Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you, at the bottom of the screen - and once you have fired two medium cannonballs (or one large one) at both of them to kill them two more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the bottom and top of the screen. Once you have gone around them, nine more Red Kaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen; once you have fired a medium-sized cannonball at each of these ones to kill them, seven more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of, in the centre of and at the bottom of the screen. Once you have gone around them, eight more Purple Kaeru and a third Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen - and once you've fired a small cannonball at each of the Purple Kaeru to kill them and two medium cannonballs (or a large one) at the Gama Gaeru to kill him, four more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you, at the top of, in the centre of, and at the bottom of that screen. Once you have gone around them, two more Kaeru (one Black and one Red) and two more Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen; once you've fired a medium cannonball at the two Kaeru to kill them and two medium cannonballs (or a large one) at the two Gama Gaeru to kill them, you will come to a third blue vase. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open, it will leave a Hanafuda card behind - and once you have collected it, a second Kusudama will drop down into view from the top of the screen. Once you've shot a medium cannonball it to break it open before it goes back up off the top of the screen again, it will leave a suit of metal (or wooden if you were unfortunate enough to be hit after putting on the first suit of it) armour behind; once you have put it on, the game's second boss theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a second time as Kokakkake emerges from the water and speaks the Katakana/Hiragana text Kokakukakokakkake! Koshakuna kowappame! (コカクカ コカッカケ! こしゃくな こわっぱめ!) to Pistol Daimyo (his Waru meter, comprised of four Waru, will also appear in that bottom-right corner of the screen at this point). The four Kappa No Sara that are covering the hole up at the top of his head, of which only the top one is visible, will then slide off and fly towards you in turn - and once you have fired eight medium cannonballs or four large cannonballs into that hole (a medium cannonball will register half a cross on his Waru meter, and a large cannonball will register a full cross on it; the hits will also knock him back a bit, but he will recede back into the water then re-emerge from it with four new Kappa No Sara on his head until he is defeated), any of his Kappa No Sara that are still on the screen will explode, and he'll speak an explosive Katakana/Hiragana text Kukyakī! Kyaparepā kuyashī!! Yararetā a! A (クキャキイ! キャパレパア くやしい!! やられたああ!) to Pistol Daimyo before exploding himself. The "stage clear" theme will then be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a fourth time as Pistol Daimyo flies off the right side of the screen - and the view will now return to the overworld map, as the third lantern on the top row (which had represented this stage) changes colour from yellow to red, and the fan which indicates Pistol Daimyo's current position moves forward to and unfolds over the fourth and last lantern on the top row, which represents the fifth stage. This stage is the last of Waru Gappa no Maki; the next four stages after it will take place in Shuriken-dan no Maki.

Area 4 (Stage 5)[edit]

Once Pistol Daimyo has reappeared on the screen, he will start moving forward for the fifth time as four Suzume come flying and a Green Kaeru comes bouncing towards him at the bottom of the screen; once you have fired a small cannonball at each of these, to kill them, three Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you, at the bottom of the screen. Once you have gone around these, a Gama Gaeru will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen - and once you have fired two medium cannonballs (or a large one) at him to kill him, three more Kappa No Sara will come flying towards you at the top of the screen. Once you've gone around them you will come to a blue vase at the top of the screen; once you've fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open it will leave a Hanafuda card behind. Once you have collected it, it will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen - and five more Kappa No Sara will then come flying towards you at the top and bottom of the screen. Once you have gone round them, seven more Kaeru (five Purple and two Black) will come bouncing towards you at the bottom of the screen; once you've fired a small cannonball at each of the Purple ones to kill them and a medium one at both of the Black ones to kill them, you will come to another blue vase at the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open it will leave a Hanafuda card behind - and once you have collected it, it will be displayed up in the top-right corner of the screen next to that first one. A twelfth Kappa No Sara will then come flying towards you, at the top of the screen; once you have gone around it, you will come to a third blue vase at the top of the screen. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open it will leave a Hanafuda card behind - and once you have collected it, a third Kusudama will drop down into view, from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a medium cannonball at it to break it open before it goes back up off the top of the screen again, it will leave a second suit of metal (or wooden if you were unfortunate enough to get hit twice) armour behind; once you have put it on if you were unlucky enough to get hit, the third boss theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 as you come to Kappa Sennin, who will speak that Katakana/Hiragana text Kapape washi Kappa Sennin washi totemotsu oi (カパ ペッ わし カッパ せんにん わし とても つおい), to Pistol Daimyo, once he has seen him (his Waru meter, which is comprised of three Waru, will also appear in that bottom-right corner of the screen at this point, but if you managed to fire a large cannonball at the star before he speaks, only two will appear). He will then start flying around the screen, as a shower of shooting stars (which are identical to that one hovering over his head) starts flying past in the top-left corner (so you should not fly up there yourself) - and once you've fired forty-eight small cannonballs, six medium cannonballs or three large cannonballs at that star (as eight small cannonballs and a medium one will both register as half a cross on his Waru meter, and a large one will register as a full cross on it), any shooting stars on the screen will explode for 100 extra points apiece and that one over his head will spin around in an anticlockwise direction, fly into the air, come down on top of him (raising a lump on his head in the process), and fall off the screen's bottom as he speaks the explosive Katakana/Hiragana text Appare (アッパレ) twice, Ayamaru (あやまる) thrice and Ayamarūu (アヤマルウウ) to Pistol Daimyo. The "stage clear" theme will then be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a fifth time as he disappears behind the foreground; Pistol Daimyo will then fly off the right side of the screen (he can also land on the tree in front of him before he does so), and the view will now return to the overworld map as the fourth and final lantern on the top row (which had represented this stage) changes its colour from yellow to red, and that fan which indicates Pistol Daimyo's current position moves forward to and unfolds over the first lantern on the central row, which is representing the first area of the game's third world (and the sixth stage overall): Shuriken-dan no Maki, which features a lot of Ninjas, and an enormous light-blue-and-black-suited one, Shuriken-dan No Dancho, also happens to be the boss of its last stage.
