The Nintendo DS console has 4 directional keys, Button A, B, X, Y, R and L. It also Has Enter and Select Buttons. Thus in all there are 8 special selection keys and 4 directional arrow keys. In Pokemon conquest each of the keys have the following functions


World Map

Key Function
Start The start button opens up the menu where you can view and change various settings like warriors you have met, Pokemon's befriended, settings, save etc.
Button Y It opens up a list of warriors that you have encountered.
Button X It is used to go to the next month.
Directional Keys Used to move the cursor around.
Button A When it is pressed while the cursor is placed over a kingdom it displays the Kingdom menu.

Within A Kingdom

Key Function
Start Opens up the menu.
Button Y Allows you to view special Pokemon that were brought to the region as a result of some activities.
Button X It is used to go to the next month.
Directional Keys Used to move the cursor around.
Button A Enters the area that is chosen.
Button B It is used to return to the world map.
L/R Buttons Allows you to switch between allied kingdoms.

During Battle

Key Function
Start Opens up the menu.
Select Allows you to switch between allied and enemy Pokemon's information.
Button Y+Up/Down Zoom out/Zoom in.
Button Y+Left/Right Rotates the camera at 90 degrees.
Button X When no Pokemon is selected it is used to end the turn and when some Pokemon is selected it is used to use the Warrior skill.(only if available)
Directional Keys Used to move the cursor around.
Button A Used to select a Pokemon, Attack, Item etc.
Button B Go back.
L/R Buttons When a Pokemon is selected it is used to switch between Warrior/Warriors Pokemon's Information
