Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team/Sky Tower

This is it; the final dungeon awaits! This is the toughest dungeon you have faced so far, with about 30 floors to progress through, and the highest level Pokémon you have fought yet, also. Your Belly will get drained very quickly here, so take a look at the Item Recommendations below.

Item Recommendations

• Reviver Seed x5
• Type-specific Gummis (a favorite Gummi fills the Belly completely)
• Apples x5
• Throwing Items (Gravelerock, Iron Thorn, etc.)
• Oran Berries x3
• Stamina Band
• Tight Belt is used to prevent the Pokémon's belly from going down, which helps to carry more important items.

Team Recommendations

• Levels 30-35 since Rayquaza is lvl. 45 with at least 600 hp.
• Ghost or Dark Types
• Two strong Allies
• Ice Type Pokémon or moves like Ice beam on Water, Psychic and many types Pokémon.

Sky Tower

The first through twenty-third floors are the first and longest part of the dungeon, with easier enemies than the last section. This is the area where your Belly is going to drop faster than you would want it too, so have Belly-filling items ready. To conserve on items, use a Gummi when the Belly is at 0, instead of at, say, 10. This will get you the maximum uses out of your items. The enemies here are tough, so use a Gravelerock or two before the enemy arrives to soften them up. Enemy Pokémon do not heal as time goes by, so this gives you a small advantage.

Also note that Shedinjas are an absolute pain to kill. They only have 5 HP, but they also only take damage from super-effective attacks. Technically you can give them 1 damage with a basic attack, but they can suck away your health and add it to theirs with Leech Life, thus gaining back all the damage you had just given to them. So attack with damaging Ghost, Dark, Flying, Rock, or Fire type moves for a quick KO. Or use a Gravelrock on them, it inflicts 20 damage, & knocks them out in one hit!

Sky Tower Summit

Before beginning The Sky Tower Summit, you will arrive at a save point. Now your stamina tests are over and your strength tests begin. The Pokémon here are much more powerful than they were in floors 1-23. They are around levels 27-30.

Salamence and Metagross have the highest stats of the Pokémon, but Salamence will fall quickly to Ice-Type moves. Metagross is only weak to Ground, Fire, and Electric techniques, so they might give you a bit of trouble. But the most annoying Pokémon in the bunch is Dusclops, who, because of his Ghost type, can go through walls, attacking you without you being able to hit him. Make sure not to get stuck in a hallway with one. If you can walk away from the enemy on the wall, sometimes it will get off the wall so you can attack it.

The Final Battle

This is it, the last Legendary Pokémon in the Story Mode: Rayquaza. He is very strong, so if you have the TM Ice Beam, and have a Pokémon that can learn it, you will have a significant type advantage as Rayquaza is Dragon/Flying Type. Try having a couple of link boxes to link all your Pokémon's moves on the summit's 8th floor, this way you hit Rayquaza as many times as possible.

The best way to beat him depends on your team. If you have lots of Reviver Seeds, you may want to attack him with your whole team, and hope to KO him before you run out. If you don't have many Reviver Seeds, you will want to have a more strategic approach. To do that, move back one square so your team mates don't follow you, but you are still behind them. Then, if your lead Pokémon knows Ice Beam, have your team mates take Rayquaza's strong attacks while you use Ice Beam, which can be used at a distance. If you do not have a lead Pokémon capable of learning Ice Beam, you will want to use items such as Gravelerocks or Iron Thorns, Silver Spikes, etc. If you lose all of your team mates, go all out and try to defeat him before you get KO'd a final time.

After the Fight

After you KO Rayquaza, he will listen to your plea for help. He will then use Hyper Beam, thus destroying the meteor before it destroys the earth.
