Story

This is from the back of the cassette's (or disk's, for the case of the Commodore Amiga version) inlay card, the front of which is shown in the image to the right (the family standing on a platform in space):

Hanna-Barbera's famous futuristic family straight
from their "Silver Screen" debut in Cinemas around
the World and now to your computer screen in this latest
Hi-Tec game.
George is trying to get the afternoon off work so
that he can take the family to Las Venus for the
weekend. Mr. Spacely however has other plans.
"George! If you leave your office before 1400 hours
you're FIRED!!!"
"That Spacely has gone too far, 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, week
in week out, for nothing. I'm leaving anyway!"
Can you help George finally escape from the dreaded Mr. Spacely and get
away for his well earned break?

Although this storyline implies that the player takes control of George Jetson himself (and for the first stage, he or she shall, trying to help him get out of "Spacely's Space Sprockets" without his boss, Mr. Spacely, knowing, then fly his jet-car back home); however, for the second stage, control switches to his wife, Jane Jetson (for a cat-burglar has broken into the Jetson home, and reprogrammed various devices to stop her from finding George, but once she has found him they will have to fly to the "Fun Pad"). For the third stage, control switches to their first-born daughter, Judy Jetson (for her favourite pop star, Jet Screamer, is playing at the "Fun Pad", and once she has won a kiss from him, they will have to fly to the "Little Dipper School") - and for the fourth (and last) stage, control switches to their second-born son, Elroy Jetson (who has been detained because one of his science-fair projects has gone wrong, but must get from the Principal's study to the school exit while avoiding robot teachers).
