Having been born in the early-mid 1980s and growing up in the '80s and '90s, one of my longtime passions has been video games. Not only have I played them throughout all of my life, but lately (since the early 21st century) I have spent time, effort, and money collecting them. I have great respect for the Nintendo Entertainment System (released in 1985 in North America), a console which arguably defined the console market, its 8-bit competitor the Sega Master System (1986) with awesome games series such as Phantasy Star and Wonder Boy, the Super Nintendo (1990/91) which produced some of the best RPGs in the early-mid 1990s (such as Final Fantasy IV-VI, Seiken Densetsu III, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Phantasia, Treasure Hunter G, Bahamut Lagoon, and the 1996's incredible Star Ocean). Of course, I own the Sega Genesis (who can forget Sonic the Hedgehog, of which I have a prototype of on the MS?), and I do own more contemporary consoles, such as the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, GameCube, DualScreen (DS), etc.

My favorite game series include: Mega Man, Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda, Wonder Boy, Final Fantasy, Eggerland, and Super Mario Bros., but I definitely enjoy other games!
I am a fan of MMORPGs and was an administrator of an online RPG called Graal Online at the turn of the 21st century, and after playing that for a while I then started playing Star Wars Galaxies (from 2003 to 2004), where I had a massive player-guild called the Grand Imperial Alliance on the Radiant Server. After that, I got into Final Fantasy XI Online from early-2004 until early-2006, and since then I have been playing Guild Wars, where I currently am the guild leader of Aura of Shadows (my character's name is Brahman Luciferin). I am currently designing a video game that is based on a short story that I once wrote. The game is an RPG that I am designing with Enterbrain, Inc.'s program RPG Maker XP. I have already publically released three demos, and a fourth demo is going to be released in the not-too-distant future (perhaps before the end of 2006). Also related to game design...I have designed two custom Eggerland games using the Revival! Eggerland game engine. I started my first project in January of 2006 and it gradually turned into a full-fledged game which I called The Adventures of Lolo 4, consisting of 129 stages (128 and an "ending" stage), taking Lolo on an adventure over a vast variety of environments. The game was released at the Eggerland Editstage Library on April 12, 2006. My second project was a remake of the Western version of The Adventures of Lolo 2 (1990), entitled The Adventures of Lolo 2 Remake, consisting of 50 stages. Of course, I have other interests! I am a fan of science fiction shows and movies, such as Star Trek (I love the movies and all the shows, although I did not really get into Enterprise) and certainly Star Wars (the long-standing debate: is the first or second trilogy better?). I also am a fan of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, both of which are very well-done shows. Still, there are some shows which are long-gone that I wish were still made...The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne (2000).
I also really enjoy horror movies. Recent films I have enjoy include The Ring and The Ring 2, The Grudge and Ju-on: The Grudge 2, and certainly Saw and Saw II. Classics include the Ammityville Horror series of films, the Exorcist (the sequels certainly did not live up to the original), and Poltergeist.
Can anyone say anime? Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ghost in the Shell: SAC: Second Gig, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Hellsing, Cowboy Beebop, Inuyasha, .Hack//Sign, Samurai Champloo, and Fullmetal Alchemist include some of my favorite animes (but certainly are not all of them!).
Finally, I am interested in History, which is my major in college (I am a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant/Lecturer pursuing my Master of Arts degree at Mississippi State University). I am primarily interested in the colonial empire building era involving Europian imperialists in East Asia in the 16th century and later. It was this period that proved formative to the development of most of Asia as we know it today. For example, the opium trade forced by Britain upon China created the Opium Wars of 1839-42 and 1856-60 that would "carve China up like a watermellon" and bring Western imperialists into China well into the 20th century, demanding land concessions. When Japan overthrew the Tokugawa Regime in 1867/68 and restored the Meiji Emperor, they began to modernize and by the end of the 19th and early-20th century they proved able to defeat the Westerners (i.e. Russia in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-5). Thus, as you can tell, I love history.
Love-wise, I have been going out with Laura Hall (a.k.a. Laura), a young woman that I met during my first year at Mississippi State University, and the two of us have been dating for over three years now (since August 20, 2003)!
