File type update
A new file type has appeared: |type=flyer. You might want to use that instead of artwork for flyers. There has also been a posters type for larger-than-flyer size promotional materials. Trig - 05:16, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

New Move list format
Could you please do the achievements and trophies page for this game whenever you have the chance? -- Prod (talk) 01:27, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

I'm trying to switch the move lists to use an easier format for arranging the pages which reduces the amount of transcluding pages in multiple places.  Please create all the move lists on the /Moves page, and then transclude to Character pages from there.  This avoids all the hidden character specific pages that appear everywhere, and all pages can be linked from the Table of Contents. -- Prod (talk) 23:12, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
ToC logos
:How do you transclude from a /Moves page? I saw there was a Movelist template but I couldn't figure it out. -BrownDerby (talk) 23:36, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
When there's flexibility in the location of the logo, please try to put it further to the right. This way it's near the end on mobile so there's less scrolling for users. Also, it might be good to include alt text of mentioning it's a logo. -- Prod (talk) 20:08, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
::I've done all the updates to SNK Gals Fighters. It's easiest when there's only one game in the "series". When you have multiple games it gets complicated. I've got a to-do list for all the old games in the previous format that i'm slowly working through, so I'll take care of all of those.  I just want to direct you for new guides, as you seem to be on a roll :). -- Prod (talk) 23:49, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
:I just realized that putting the logos in the ToC is replacing all the PageImages for each page in the guide with the logos. These are the images which show up when you post the link on social media. You can check this by clicking the Page information link in the sidebar. For guides which don't have many images, this is really helpful, since otherwise it would just be the site logo. But, I'm not sure how good it is for some of our better illustrated guides. There's a way to tell the parser not to consider certain images for the PageImage, so we don't have to remove any of the logos, but I have to think a bit if that's the right change or not. -- Prod (talk) 02:38, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
:::I'm glad to see you getting into the wiki editing so well, and merging the Samurai Shodown 2 guide.  Unfortunately, when merging guides, we have to be careful to make sure all editors are still attributed based on the license we follows (see my recent edits).  For now I'd suggest that if you're adding to an existing guide, follow whatever standard is already used, and let me take care of the format migration. However, if this is a task that interests you, come on Discord and I can show you a few ways to maybe make the process easier. This series of games is actually a few entries down my list since it has almost 150 pages to update. -- Prod (talk) 05:05, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
::Maybe you could use class=notpageimage on the ones where the guide already has a lot of pictures. -BrownDerby (talk) 03:00, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
:::A few considerations:
:::* The logo seems to override the box artwork even for small guides. We could use WikiSEO to override the image on the main page instead.
:::* If we make it a judgment call on whether to include notpageimage, we'd have to watch for when it becomes a "big enough" guide.
::: I want to see if there's something we can do at the template or server level to give us more flexibility with which image is selected. -- Prod (talk) 03:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Character pages
Uncharted
The Street Fighter games have a lot of back story spanning multiple games, so individual character pages make more sense there. Some of these other games probably don't have as much content for each character, so it may be easier to just have one /Characters page which lists all the characters stories together. -- Prod (talk) 17:59, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
A user has added trophies and achievements to some of the compilations in this series. Could you please review if it's done properly? I'm not sure if those trophy pages should be on the compilations or the individual guides. -- Prod (talk) 01:01, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

Thank you
:I think for "Nathan Drake Collection" those should be moved to the individual trophy pages since they are listed as separate games on PSN, but the other one is fine as-is. -BrownDerby (talk) 04:25, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
::The user already added them to the individual guides. Is there anything else that would need to be moved over or can we just remove it from the collection page? -- Prod (talk) 22:20, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
:::The Collection trophies are different from the original PS3 ones, so those would have to be moved over, then removed from the collection page. -BrownDerby (talk) 22:36, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for making the remaining Battle Arena Toshinden pages! I'm very new here so I'm still learning how StrategyWiki works so that really helped speed up the process! Could I ask you to also make a page for the GameBoy port of Battle Arena Toshinden 1? This port has a lot of changes from both the PS1 and SAT versions of the game so it might need its own page. No worries if not though, but thank you again for making all of the pages! -LansingWolverine (talk) 21:30, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

EDIT: Thank you for added the GB page like I asked and also re-creating the original game's character select as an
easy means of navigating the characters! Your contributions have made the Toshinden pages look really professional
and organized and your edits have really helped me figure out how to better format things! -LansingWolverine (talk) 05:39, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Walkthrough vs Getting Started pages
Momotaro
Before you power through too many guides, I've actually been thinking of switching the way we handle the GS/Walkthrough pages. How to Play to me sounds like it would fit fine under "Getting Started". Where as walkthrough is supposed to cover any story mode. I haven't really gotten anywhere discussing with the other Move Lists editors, but was wondering what you thought. -- Prod (talk) 20:28, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
Wondering if you have an opinion on this. We have a weird mix of Momotaro and Momotarou for this series and its sub-series.
Wikipedia goes with wikipedia:Momotaro Dentetsu and wikipedia:Momotaro Densetsu, but I think going by our policies, it should be Momotarou. Any thoughts?

:The story mode in these games is usually just fight some random characters and then the boss, so you don't really need a walkthrough for them. But on every page of every game there are the walkthrough links, so I think it's fine to put the "how to play" stuff there. -BrownDerby (talk) 22:30, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
* Momotaro Densetsu
::Even the "How to Play" stuff is pretty basic, so really just having the Moves list linked via the Custom Nav seems like the main benefit. -- Prod (talk) 00:02, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
* Momotaro Dentetsu
::Also, the ToC in the sidebar has the "How To Play" link right at the top, so what's in the header doesn't really matter. -- Prod (talk) 16:18, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

:::I just think it's fine how it is now. I don't see the benefit of changing it, and then all these games would have no walkthrough. -BrownDerby (talk) 18:10, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

I have a bot that will take care of setting up the basic structure of the character pages.  I don't like having it create empty character pages, so I haven't let it create them for guides which only have the moves list and nothing else. Hi BrownDerby.  First, thanks as always for your continued excellent work with the fighting game moves lists.  I truly appreciate the effort and attention to detail that you put into it.  Second, thank you for fixing the edit errors made by RPC Gaming.  I am concerned because he removed two whole moves from the list which I believe were legitimate moves.  One desperation move for Chin which is more of a taunt than an attack (although it may have had the wrong motion listed) and a chained special move for Joe.  Can you confirm whether those moves should have been removed or not?  I suspect they should not have.  Thanks very much! For the template, I sorted by approximate release, since I haven't seen the show and wasn't sure if the series (R/S/SuperS) was a relevant organization. Do you think it needs to be reorganized? The names I got from the wikipedia page. Do they seem correct? -- Prod (talk) 21:45, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

:I don't know them too well but it seems correct. -BrownDerby (talk) 22:16, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Control Selector
Unfortunately, my bot can't properly handle all the Arcana Hearts character pages because of the control selector.  If you're updating those pages, can you please move the template above the Moves heading? -- Prod (talk) 22:00, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

Can you please weigh in on StrategyWiki:Staff lounge#Ports, remasters, and re-releases? -- Prod (talk) 00:26, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
:I've added an example, and a major incentive behind setting this up is improving our interlinking with PCGW.  As you know, many of them are ports with new names, and I'd like to show the differences between the versions without needing separate pages for each. Could you please provide your thoughts on the updates I've posted? -- Prod (talk) 19:02, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

File type update[edit]

A new file type has appeared: |type=flyer. You might want to use that instead of artwork for flyers. There has also been a posters type for larger-than-flyer size promotional materials. Trig - 05:16, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

God of War: Ghost of Sparta[edit]

Could you please do the achievements and trophies page for this game whenever you have the chance? -- Prod (talk) 01:27, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

ToC logos[edit]

When there's flexibility in the location of the logo, please try to put it further to the right. This way it's near the end on mobile so there's less scrolling for users. Also, it might be good to include alt text of mentioning it's a logo. -- Prod (talk) 20:08, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

I just realized that putting the logos in the ToC is replacing all the PageImages for each page in the guide with the logos.
Maybe you could use class=notpageimage on the ones where the guide already has a lot of pictures. -BrownDerby (talk) 03:00, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
A few considerations:
 • The logo seems to override the box artwork even for small guides. We could use WikiSEO to override the image on the main page instead.
 • If we make it a judgment call on whether to include notpageimage, we'd have to watch for when it becomes a "big enough" guide.
I want to see if there's something we can do at the template or server level to give us more flexibility with which image is selected. -- Prod (talk) 03:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Uncharted[edit]

A user has added trophies and achievements to some of the compilations in this series. Could you please review if it's done properly? I'm not sure if those trophy pages should be on the compilations or the individual guides. -- Prod (talk) 01:01, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

I think for "Nathan Drake Collection" those should be moved to the individual trophy pages since they are listed as separate games on PSN, but the other one is fine as-is. -BrownDerby (talk) 04:25, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
The user already added them to the individual guides. Is there anything else that would need to be moved over or can we just remove it from the collection page? -- Prod (talk) 22:20, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
The Collection trophies are different from the original PS3 ones, so those would have to be moved over, then removed from the collection page. -BrownDerby (talk) 22:36, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
I just can't get around to working on these. I'm just going to leave it. -- Prod (talk) 02:14, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Thank You[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for making the remaining Battle Arena Toshinden pages! I'm very new here so I'm still learning how StrategyWiki works so that really helped speed up the process! Could I ask you to also make a page for the GameBoy port of Battle Arena Toshinden 1? This port has a lot of changes from both the PS1 and SAT versions of the game so it might need its own page. No worries if not though, but thank you again for making all of the pages! -LansingWolverine (talk) 21:30, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

EDIT: Thank you for added the GB page like I asked and also re-creating the original game's character select as an easy means of navigating the characters! Your contributions have made the Toshinden pages look really professional and organized and your edits have really helped me figure out how to better format things! -LansingWolverine (talk) 05:39, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Momotaro[edit]

Wondering if you have an opinion on this. We have a weird mix of Momotaro and Momotarou for this series and its sub-series. Wikipedia goes with wikipedia:Momotaro Dentetsu and wikipedia:Momotaro Densetsu, but I think going by our policies, it should be Momotarou. Any thoughts?

-- Prod (talk) 03:52, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

It should be Momotarou -BrownDerby (talk) 04:05, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
