Box Art / Manual Scans
If anyone has any of the original Box Art for any games of Space Quest and Lesiure Suit Larry Series could you please upload it here? Those are the first few guides that I wish to finish up, and I really think that watermarks and whatnot would look unprofessional here. Similarly, if anyone has scans of the game manuals that are free to use, I'd appreciate that as well.
I found a bunch of Space Quest boxart pics....not that high quality, but not watermarked, either. Check it out:
Feel free to use them in your articles. Just one thing I noticed, the box art seems to be designed in two distinct, different styles, both existing for each game....it could be left as is, or would you prefer only one style for continuity? Gerrec 21:13, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
Editing tips
Hi. Nice work on the Space Quest III guide, but I feel compelled to point out a few things I think will help improve your future edits. If you take a look at this diff, you'll see that you can use the Template:Tl template to force the following content to be past floated items, instead of manually spacing the content out. Additionally, on the Monolith Burger page, you could use the Template:Tl template for the secret message. On all the Space Quest III pages, you should probably replace the section navigation at the bottom of the page with a Template:Tl, just to standardise the navigation. :-) If you've got any questions or comments about this, just leave a note on my talk page (or here, since I'll watch it), and keep up the good work! --DrBob (Talk) 17:09, 27 March 2007 (CDT)
RE: Editing Tips
Hello! Thank you for your positive feedback. The Template:Tl template is "just what I've been looking for", and I think that Template:Tl looks great (better than my div, anyway). I thank you for taking the time to explain this to me, since that will improve my future guides while saving me quite a bit of time! Do keep in mind that it is my first guide on StrategyWiki (and I've had to change schools in the mean time, so time was taken off).
Couple of Questions:
One of my main peeves is the fact that I can not seem to make images into links (for example, in Space_Quest_III:_The_Pirates_of_Pestulon/Appendix_D, it would be nice if one could use the table with all visible items to navigate to the items a-la TOC. Having said that, I don't find it completely necessary, but would be "nice."
Do we have any policy against making headers (e.g. "=== Subtite ===") into a link? I ask this, because it would make sense in certain places (items page, etc) but of course would get old and over-bearing very quickly.
I'll be tidying up the pages sometime tonight and perhaps tomorrow. Anything you wish to add, share, or point out will be read with appreciation. I sincerely thank you for your time to fix the quide as well as write to me. Thank you.

- Images can be turned into links with the use of the ImageMap Extension. Another way is to make a link like http://media.strategywiki.org/images/9/91/Sw_1337.png. Just make sure it's clear, since the default behavior is for images to link to their pages, not specific sections (might surprise someone ^_^). I don't think there is any real "policy" against header links, but it isn't recommended. However, if you think it's the best way to accomplish a certain result, go for it. As for some helpful links, check out the StrategyWiki:Guide. We're slowly building it up, and it should answer most of the easy questions (though you seem to already have a good grasp of mediawiki =) ). My final suggestion is to join us on IRC (or with the java client, just join #StrategyWiki). There are usually one or two people on there who are dying for attenti... to help you ;). Custom Signature
I saw your comment on Dr. B's page, so I thought I could help. Go to the preferences page, and on the first page that shows, change the Nickname field to what you want to appear and check the "raw signature" box below it. Whatever is filled in will act like code as your signature, so you can have whatever you want to appear. For me, I used the very simple, although not as smooth looking, {{SUBST:user|Notmyhandle}}. Just paste that template into the box with whatever nickname you like to use instead of mine, and voila! --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 16:44, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
- Just to hijack this section, in reply to your request to delete those images. Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon
For the naming of the appendices, I'd suggest moving them from pages like Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon/Appendix C/Astro Chicken to Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon/Astro Chicken, or Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon/Appendix D to Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon/Items.
