==Frequently Asked Questions==
<pre>
<pre>
Q. Is this just Duel Monsters 7 all over again?
A. Not really. The game uses the same engine, but takes it in a whole new
direction. While DM7 followed the plot of the manga, Reshef Of Destruction
takes on an completely original, entirely compelling storyline, which is
catered to fans of the anime series, rather than fans of the games.
Q. Is this an official part of the Yu-Gi-Oh storyline?
A. Personally, I'm not sure. The storyline supposedly takes place long after
Battle City, as the characters make a few references to developments which
have only just occurred, in the current anime series, and look back on them
as if they happened a few years ago.
While nothing is official yet, it's entirely plausible that this storyline
arc could be incorporated a future anime series.

Q. Can I EMail you?
A. Please never mention this game to me again.,
Q. Where's Bakura?
A. ...I... Don't know. His absence could be explained in the anime series,
although he does make a brief cameo during the game
Q. Will you help me with (insert duel here)?
A. No... No, no, no, no.
I'm sure there are people who will put together bigger, more substantial
FAQs, for this game. I personalty suck at duelling, so this FAQ completely
omits that element of the game.
Q. I heard Pegasus comes back
A. Yes, and he's kawaii ^_^
Q. Why does Pegasus wear that eye-patch?
A. Bakura ripped out his eye, during the Duelist Kingdom storyline.
Q, Why did Pegasus change his hair?
A. Because he's kawaii
Q. Will you shut up about Pegasus, already?
A. ...Yes, sir :(
Q. What's a 'reshef'?
A. QUIET!

Chapter 1 : Domino City
-----------------------

Enter your name, and witness the short (and somehow exciting) intro, which
leads into a conversation with Jounouchi. Gasp, as Yugi runs in and starts
crying... The Millennium Puzzle is missing, and it's upto Yugi, Jounouchi and
*YOU* to get it back ^_^

Sit through a rather long (and Japanese) dialogue, involving the main
characters. The woman in white is Ishizu, who plays a rather major (ly tedious)
role in the walkthrough - so remember her!

This area of the Domino City is called 'Domino Plaza'. Explore it if you like,
and find your way into the bottom-right screen. There, more to the bottom right
of the screen, past the road-block, and you'll reach the Kaiba Corp building,
just in time to watch an exchange between Seto, Mokuba, and the first 'cool
cameo' of the game - Rebecca Hawkins.

2 Minutes of Japanese later, and we have our first duel.. Unfortunately for
you, I'm not covering the duels in this guide (partly because I suck, and
partly because Pokemon is out tomorrow), which means your on your own...

With the duel over, find Ishizu (She's one screen left of the fountain /clock),
and walk into the building on the left (Domino Station). Inside, Yugi and
Jounouchi will have an exchange with the station guards, which inevitably leads
into a duel.

Once victory is assured, the guards will let you pass through the barrier, and
onto the station platform. On the downside, Panik arrives, and gets through the
barrier with much less hassle.

On the platform, head right, into the "white bit", which is apparently a train.
On-board, walk to the left of the carriage, and challenge the guard (in white)
to a duel. He'll decline, but keep talking to him, and the train will start
moving (complete with train noises, and random screen shaking ^_^). Once the
train is in motion, challenge him again, for your 3rd duel.

Once beaten, the guard will move out of the way, allowing access to the door he
was guarding. Enter it, for a confrontation with Panik (and a snazzy new red
duelling board ^_^)

Neat touch : Before Panik duels you, all the lights in the carriage go out

After the duel, the lights come back on, the train stops, and the train guard
runs in, to inform everyone that the train has reached it's destination.Once
Panik leaves, follow him off the train, and onto the platform. Head up the
stairs, and follow Panik out the top-right of the screen.. *gasp* Oh no - where
did he go?!!? [/sarcasm]. Talk to the suspicious person, standing infront of
the VERY suspicious door, and enter, just in time to see Panik's very
uninspiring death.

Watch the brief cut-scene, involving Yugi, Jounouchi, and the OMINOUS PERSON IN
BLACK, which leads to a duel. This segues into one of the coolest cut-scenes
any Yu-Gi-Oh fan could ever wish for, as the OPIB (Ominous Person In Black)
hands Yugi the Millennium Tauk (A Millennium Item which lets the bearer see
into
the future). What Yugi sees is a vision of Domino City burning to the ground,
with the person responsible panning into the picture, and slowly turning
around, to grin at the camera - it's Yami.

After Yugi finishes crying, head out of the room, for an exchange with Seto and
Mokuba. Once they leave, head left, then left again, to get to the "WORLDMAP"
screen (All Reserved Kaiba Corporation Ltd)

Neat touch : 'http://www.kaiba.com' isn't owned by Konami

On the World Map, choose to go back to Domino Plaza (represented by a picture
of the clock), to consult Ishizu, on the matters of evil pharaohs, and ominous
people in black. Fortunately, before Ishizu can start another 5-minute
dialogue, everything gets interrupted by a random stranger, who looks like a
pallete-swapped Red Mage. Deal with him, however, and your rewarded with the
very first re-appearance of...

Pegasus!

Marvel at just how cool they managed to make him look, and when your done,
suffer through Ishizu's speech, and head back into the station, where a new
area of Domino has opened up (Domino Harbour). Make your way there, and then
climb the stairs, boarding the ship in time to watch a 'duel' between Magnum
and Mai. After the exchange, talk to Mai, and agree to duel Magnum.

Once you've dealt with him, talk to Mai again, to open the doorway on the
right. Enter, to find an cargo hold, complete with it's own OMINOUS PERSON IN
BLACK. Take him down, for your 2nd Millennium Item, and a brief cameo from
Shadi. Once he's gone, leave the boat, and head right, back to Domino Plaza.
Talk to you-know-who, for another 'enlightening' conversation, which closes the
first section of the game.

----------------------
Chapter 2 : World Tour
----------------------

With 2 Millennium Items in their possession, Yugi, Jounouchi and the player
prepare to head to Europe. Usually, this would be a daunting task, but thanks
to
the incredible power of 'Konami', Europe can be reached by walking one screen
to the left. On the World Map, select the wondrous new location on the left of
the screen - Italy.

..Now, I've never been to Italy, but I always expected it to comprise of a
little more than a dank basement, and 2 old people.. However, head down the
stairs, to find Bonez. Accept his duel, and witness another wonder of Duel
Monsters 8 - sampled speech. Dispatch of Bonez quickly, and get ready for a
series of cool cameos..

If you have the heart to make Rare Hunter, Strings, Pandora and Bandit Keith
leave the screen, advance through the conversation (SLOWLY - you need to
appreciate the cool new character art), and speak to Bonez again. Follow him to
the right, and then into the chamber, for a surprise encounter with... Ominous
Person In Black.

Beat him, for the Millennium Ring, and a brief encounter with Bakura, then go
all the way back to Domino Plaza, for an entirely enjoyable, and not at all
repetitive conversation, with Ishizu, to open up what I can only assume is
China.

Talk to the monk, head right, talk to the monk there, and then go back to the
first screen, to challenge the monk to a duel. Surprise! It's not really a
generic Chinese monk - it's actually Para. I dealt with him in short order, and
received.. Labyrinth Wall! Co-incidence?.. Who knows - I'm not duelling him
again, to find out :{

At this point, it all gets a bit silly, as.. Dox (?) back-flips across the
screen, and Seto and Mokuba randomly show up, in time for a convenient "TAG
DUEL", which is in fact a completely regular duel, in every respect. The prize
for your efforts is the Gate Guardian (I thought these rewards were meant to be
at least somewhat random?), and a cut-scene which explains the 'tag' element
(Seto calling a Blue-Eyes White Dragon to completely destroy the other twin).
The twins both run away, and Seto leaves, allowing you to walk 2 screen to the
right, for a SHOCKING encounter with Ominous Guy In Black.

Beat him, for the Millennium Eye, and another encounter with Pegasus. After
that, leave China, and.. You know what? I'm going to let you guess what to do
next - I think your ready for it.

Suffer Isis (and an appearance by Seto), for a nice cameo from Tristian, and
Serenity (!), before heading to the Kaiba Corp building (bottom-right of Domino
Plaza), for an even nicer cut-scene, recapping the events of the Noa's Arc
anime series. Challenge (and beat) Jinzo, and the Big Five will turn into the
great big, Five-Headed Dragon Thingy, from the Kaiba Virtual World episodes of
the anime series. This leads to some Seto Kaiba Cosplay Action (c)2003 Kaiba
Corp. After the stage show, talk to Ishizu, to open up a new location : Canada

Like Europe (and Asia), Canada is reached by walking one screen to the left,
and selecting it from the world map, For some reason, it's represented by a
rock, with a tent next to it ^^;

Once you get to Canada, there's no time to hang aboot, so furry (sorry about
this ^^;) into the cave, for a meeting with Rex Raptor. The inevitable duel
follows (on a new, rock-themed duelling board, complete with speech samples)

Deal with Rex, and walk right, and.. Oh my god! It's the Ominous Person In
Black! Whatever if he doing here? Duel him for your usual reward (a nice cameo
^_^) from none other than Marik!

Leave the cave, and... Yeah, that's Canada - hope you enjoyed it, because it's
time to talk to Ishizu again >_<

After the tedium, Ishizu opens the Galapagos - a group of remote islands,
located one screen to the left of Ishizu. When you get there, talk to Mako,
choose the top option (for some reason), head left, and straight past Weevil
(WHAT!?!? No mandatory duel?), into the temple.

..Hankies at the ready..

Cue the suitably mysterious music, as Yami steals the Millennium Scales before
your very eyes, and tries to make his escape. Yugi and Jounouchi corner him,
forcing him to unveil that he's actually.. Er.. That guy in Duelist Kingdom,
who disguised himself as the 'zombie' Seto Kaiba.. Anyway - it's not actually
Yami, it is in fact.. Another duel!

Dispatch of the shape-shifter, for the Millennium Scales, and a visit from
Shadi.
Leave, Ishizu talk, and head to Kaiba Corp. Talk to Set, and head back towards
Ishizu.

----------------------------
Chapter 3 : The Rare Hunters
----------------------------

As 2 cloaked figures appear, talk to, duel and defeat both of them,
then head up one screen, for a strange cut-scene, and another duel.

Head left 2 screens, and watch the exchange between Rare Hunter and Espa Roba
(complete with SD Exodia ^_^) Duel Rare Hunter, and dispatch of him in short
order, before he gets a chance to use you-know-what. Your rewards is a piece of
you-know-what, and a chance to replenish your life points, after 4 consecutive
duels.

Once your done, head to the bottom-left of the plaza, towards the Game shop,
for a cute scene involving Serenity, Otogi and Honda. Go to the station, and
head for Domino Harbour, then onto the ship, in time to save Mai from Pandora.
Duel him, then head back to the world map, and back to Italy. Find (and save)
Bonez, in a tough duel, to rid Italy of the menace.

Back to the world map again, and this time re-visit China, where Weevil has
magically appeared, just in time to meet Umbra & Lumis. This is another of
those
great 'Tag' duels, which yet again, takes the form of a regular duel.

With China saved from the evil menace of people in purple robes, move onto the
great country of Canada for another predictable duel, before finally moving
back to the Galapagos, for an exchange between Mako and Strings.

Talk to Mako, agree to duel Strings, and then head back to Domino Plaza, for a
dialogue between Espa Roba, and his brothers.. With that over, head to the
Kaiba Corp building for a cut-scene

As the stage show erupts into chaos, Espa Roba takes a stand, against Rare
Hunter, which (of course) means YOU duelling him >_<

After the duel, Jinzo attacks... Jinzo.. And the Gurus' Hunters leave the
plaza, and head to the train station. Head to where Ishizu should be, talk to
her replacement (Espa), enter the station, and go to the left-most location in
Domino City. Head through the barriers, onto the train, and to the left of the
carriage, to confront the cloaked figure. Beat him, and head through the
carriage, for another duel with another generic cloaked figure. Repeat as
necessary, and when informed by the guard, leave the train.

Approach the figures on the left for a duel, and then head into towards the
barriers for yet another. Deal with either of the Gurus in the barrier room,
and then follow them to the top-right exit, in time to watch Seto Kaiba's last
stand. Seto insists on dealing with the Gurus himself, leaving you to hurry to
the top-right exit, and a date with Bandit Keith.

Bandit, duelist, Gurus leader, and hero to us all, Bandit Keith holds Ishizu to
ransom, and relieves you of your 6 Millennium Items. Unknown to Yugi, Keith
already has the Millennium Puzzle, and one of the God Cards. Duel and defeat
him, before he can summon it, and sit back, as Yugi summons Osiris. Keith's
Millennium Puzzle responds to Osiris' presence, and transfers itself from Keith
to Yugi, prompting an appearance from Yami, and a tearful reunion.

Before much can happen, Ra appears, and attacks Keith, who drops the God Card,
and proceeds to die. Ishizu gives the card to the player, cue a strange cut-
scene, Keith's resurrection, and the destruction of the Millennium Puzzle.

When Yugi stops crying, head out of the room, in time to witness Mokuba's
kidnapping (at the hands of Para & Dox). Seto leaves, and gets replaced with
OMINOUS PERSON IN BLACK! (did you miss him as much as I did?) Follow Seto,
Ishizu and OPIB out of the room, and head left, to the world map.

Take a trip to Domino Plaza, and talk to Mai, Weevil, Mako, Rex and Bonez, who
will all leave. Once they've all left, head to the station, and onto China, for
the mandatory appearance of Simon Muran. After the dialogue, head back to
Domino Plaza, for some hot, hot Ishizu action.

After Ishizu finishes her piece, direct your attention towards Domino Station,
where you can now visit Egypt. Head on over there, through the interstellar
wonders of going left one screen, and talks to Rishid, who leads you to...

Neat touch : MARIK!!!

Jounouchi fills Marik in on the whole Yami/Keith/Ra affair, which inexplicably
prompts the duel you've been waiting for (Meh, the lack of sense if forgivable,
because they've made up for it with MARIK!!)

Marik summons Ra (because he can), and tells you to prepare for a tough
endeavour. Leave Egypt, and head back to China, for more fun with Simon Muran.
After the dialogue, go to the right, and duel with Ominous Person In Black for
what must be the 10th time, already.

Your reward is passage to the right of the screen, and.. Another duel with
Ominous Person In Black!

Your reward is passage to the right of the screen, and.. Another duel with
Ominous Person In Black!

(ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?)

Anyway, duel Ominous Person In Black a STUPID amount of times, and eventually,
he'll disappear, allowing you passage into the temple, for a REALLY annoying
exchange, with Simon Muran.

The idea here is that you need to give Simon the correct responses, or he sends
you back to deal with Ominous Person In Black, for another 20 duels. If you
value your sanity, I suggest giving him the following answers...

Bottom
Bottom
Top

..And it's time to du-du-du-du-du-du-du-duel!

Dispatch with Simon ONCE (phew!), and a new area will open up

-------------------------
Chapter 4 : Pegasus' Lair
-------------------------

This next section is INCREDIBLY tough, and most of the time, you'll find
yourself forced into field changes, which mean only flying monsters can attack.
Take preparations before you head to the cable-car, because you need to make
the cable-car trip (complete with duels) each time you die.

Just to be safe, take as many Harpie Lady-related cards as you can, as well as
her 3 brothers, and any other strong flying monsters you can get your hands on.

.. From the opening dialogue with Ishizu, get into the cable-car, and duel the
Pegasus cosplayers, who interrupts Jounouchi's conversation. After 3 duels, the
tram reaches the end of the line, where you'll be greeted by Panik (and
friend). When prompted by Jounouchi, choose the top option to duel Panik, and
the bottom option to duel the shape-shifter. I advise the latter. After the
duel, Panik confronts Jounouchi, who proceeds to fight them off, letting Yugi
(and the player) sneak past them.

With Panik out of the way, your taken back to the World Map, where a new
location (Dasoji Yoso), which is hidden located inside Pegasus' Lair. Head
there right away, for a cut-scene starring Pegasus (and his cronies)

When Peggy's minions appear, head left, up and then right, duelling along the
way, until you encounter Para & Dox. Once again, you have the option of which
to duel, and once again, the bottom option gives a slightly easier duel. After
the duel, Yugi calls the Black Magician to dispose of them.

Neat touch : He calls the Black Magician from the original manga, not the one
from the anime.

In a weird moment, Yugi decides to hold off both Para & Dox, letting the player
advance to Pegasus Castle (which is now added to the map)

After Simon Muran appears (and does little of note), enter the castle, for a
message from Pegasus, and a RIDICULOUSLY though duel with Bonez.. And another..
You may notice (much to your delight), that no matter how many times you duel
Bonez, he keeps coming back. The solution (ssj4 trunx is my hero, btw) is to
leave the castle, head to Italy, find the REAL Bonez, and duel him. Then talk
to Real Bonez, and you should hear a jingle, signalling the end to this
silliness. Now, head back to Pegasus' Castle, and duel the imposter one last
time.

Horah! Now you can finally move through the door, for a confrontation with..
Imposter Rex >_<

Beat Rex, and repeat the process, of Imposter - Original - Imposter, this time
going to Canada, to meet Rex.. And then the Galapagos for Weevil, back to
Galapagos again, for Mako, Domino Plaza for Espa Roba, and finally, Domino
Harbour for Mai. (Jesus, if Pegasus' evil plan is to drive everyone insane with
tedium, he's doing a damn good job..)

After Mai is dealth with (Time-wasting duel count : 18 in a row) Ishizu
conviniently shows up, in time to see Seto's inevitable reunion with Mokuba,
who your going to duel (obviously). This is FINALLY followed by the duel with
Seto that you've all been waiting for (comeplete with AWESOME speech samples,
and special BEWD-summoning rules, which apply only to him).

Defeat Seto (hahaha!) and get ready for The Big One (tm) - Pegasus

Win the duel, and all 3 Gods will attack Pegasus, causing the stone tablet
behind him to revive, which seems to summon that giant mech monster, from all
the Dance Dance Revolution background movies (I'm not making this up). All of a
sudden, Seto, Jounouchi and Yugi show up, and in a change of heart (hehe),
Pegasus hands Yugi the missing piece of the Millenium Puzzle (which Keith
stole). With the puzzle back in one piece, Yami appears, various Blue-Eyes
White Dragons, Red-Eyes Black Dragons and Black Magicians are all called, but
the combined power isn't enough to beat the evil of Naoki.

And of course, if several gigantic monsters aren't enough to destroy something,
there's only one thing to do!... Play cards with it o.O

With the duel over, Pegasus makes something vaguely resembling a self-
sacrifice, in order to destroy the monster, and since this is an RPG, the
castle inevitably starts to crumble, leading to the obligatory 'sprites running
out of the castle' bit, and an air-lift from Mokuba.. Who can't possibly have
ran back to the Kaiba Corp building to get the helicoptor in the time it too..
Note to self : Stop trying to make sense of this game.

ANYWAY.. You win!

Now enjoy a strange epilogue, features characters so obscure, I didn't even
bother mentioning them in the walkthrough.

The reward for winning is a new location on the map (in the bottom-right),
which consists of a room in which you can talk to (and duel) Yami, Pegasus,
Seto, Shadi, Simon Muran, Bakura (!), Noa (!!) and the Marik-
controlled version of Jounouchi (from Battle City).
