In the downloadable Extinct Animals fansite kit, there is a screenshot of a quagga located under "Animal Renderings". This animal was not listed on the official site's animal page. What this screenshot means is as of now a mystery. Another animal (confirmed through the demo version) is the "giant bullfrog". In order to obtain it the player must get a very low score on the animal creation minigame. It will appear crated in front of the research lab. It has no stats, but the player can still move it. It is a resize of the bullfrog ambient from Endangered Species.
