Arachifant[edit]

These creatures look like baby heads on spider legs. They crawl on ceilings and never come down until slayed. While they don’t have many health points, and their attacks don’t deal much damage, they can be extremely dangerous due to their poisonous tongues.

Beast of Trung[edit]

This is not a single creature, but a giant frog with a bunch of parasitic inhabitants on its back. These monsters are quite dangerous due to their large amount of health and poisonous attacks. But that’s nothing compared to the strength of their attacks. Don’t let them hit you in melee combat or you’ll need to use a lot of healing spells and items. Despite Beasts of Trung are quite clumsy, they counterattack almost instantly.

Blood Spawn[edit]

These creatures are not very strong and don’t possess ranged attacks. No resistances and immunities.

Blood Thorns[edit]

These sea weeds can’t move or perform a ranged attack. Sadly, level design doesn’t allow you to attack them from the safe distance. The only thing you can do is assault them viciously and hope for the best. If you get poisoned by their attack, and there are other Black Thorns nearby, get rid of them prior to curing poison to save healing items.

Braid Stone[edit]

These creatures look like arms of stone which grow from the ground. They are strong but not unbeatable. Hacking weapon is the best choice against Braid Stones.

Also don’t be confused by their looks – there monsters can move.

Cacofiend[edit]

These beasts attack with lightning spells and so they are quite resistant to lightning damage. Cacofiends’ health bar is quite large, but when you fight one in a melee combat, you will find it being quite clumsy. Just try not to be hit by their fast counterattacks.

Castellan[edit]

That’s the one and only boss in the game. His attacks are fast and painful, and his armor makes him invulnerable to all kinds of weapons and magic except for the War Render.

Clansman[edit]

Clansmen inhabit Gorge Keep. They represent the warrior race but this fact doesn’t make them tough enemies. They have no immunities, no resistances, no ranged attacks, and their stats aren’t too high.

Colossal Baboon[edit]

They have a nice amount of health points, their attacks are fast, and they attack you with both fists, delivering two consecutive strikes in a row. That’s the only one monster who can deal damage two times with a single attack.

Luckily, they don’t want to fight you, so as soon as their king is free, all Baboons will disappear.

Devourer of Souls[edit]

These nondescript creatures are resistant to magical attacks. Moreover, they have a nice amount of health points, they are quick, then know how to counterattack, so don’t expect them to die easily. On the good hand, they won’t cause you much trouble once you learn how to deal with them.

Drowned Sailor[edit]

These creatures come in two types: stronger ones and weaker ones. You can learn that from the octopus demon in the sunken ship. Weaker Sailors are not hard to kill, while stronger ones have more health and thus require more time to deal with. Using fire and lightning magic against Drowned Sailors is not really wise decision.

Earthbile[edit]

Careful when fighting Earthbiles, they are poisonous! They can poison you by attacking in a close combat as well as by spitting at you from the distance.

Fungus Man[edit]

These creatures live in forests and attack with claws in close combat.

Hagborn[edit]

The laugh of these beasts is pretty loud and annoying. Moreover, these “spidergirls” appear unpredictably out of nowhere, and this fact makes them even more annoying. As for the combat, Hagborns use lightning magic to attack you from afar. They are also skilled (yet a bit slow) in melee combat, but no resistances and immunities make them good targets for all attacks you prefer.

Ice Worm[edit]

The last kind of monster to encounter in the game, these giant ice creatures are completely immune to the wind and water magic and highly resistant to many other kinds of magic. Moreover, their attacks are fast and deal a huge amount of damage, making them really tough enemies, and their huge amount of health doesn’t make your job easier.

Still, they are vulnerable to fire magic and cannot move, so use it to your advantage. Rushing forward is not an option. Despite they cannot move, level design is built in such a way that it’s hard to attack Ice Worms from the distance.

Infernal Bones[edit]

These creatures are made of fire, and so they are immune to fire-based spells. Then can also attack with fire spells, when far away.

Otherwise, they are just common enemies, not very hard to beat.

Jester[edit]

The official manual describes Jesters as whimsical creatures. They are indeed whimsical and require special tactic to beat them. You will encounter Jesters from the beginning to the end of the game, so be prepared.

To begin with, Jesters don’t counterattack unlike other enemies. On contrary, if you hit some Jester, its (his?) head will spit for about a second. It’s perfect time to deliver another attack. Swing your weapon recklessly so it (he?) won’t have time to fight you back.

Jesters use lightning sculls when they attack. They can hit you with magic from the distance, but once you get close it will attack you with a point blank magic. Don’t be confused by the animation where Jester prepares three magical sculls to launch at you. It’s a melee attack, so you can dodge it just like other melee attacks.

Juggernaut[edit]

These huge stone creatures are extremely dangerous despite they can’t move.

Juggernauts use fire magic to attack from the distance. If you approach it, it will begin to open its mouth slowly to attack you with its flaming tongue. Once you hit it, its mouth will close giving you a few seconds to deliver more attacks.

Don’t even try to dodge – as soon as you step away from the Juggernaut, it will instantly launch a fire spell at you. Some spells have little or no effect on Juggernauts, so sometimes the best way to deal with them is to recklessly attack them, heal when you’re low on health and hope for the best.

Lurking Claw[edit]

It’s an underwater creature with two sharp claws. It has a few resistances to spells and it’s really hard to harm it with blunt weapons. Other than that, it’s nothing.

Lurking Stench[edit]

The most dangerous thing about these abominations is that they are extremely poisonous. By the time that you encounter them you will wield the shield which gives you immunity to poison, so there’s not much to be afraid of.

Other than poisonous strikes, Lurking Stenches are not really dangerous. They are quite slow to be easily destroyed in melee combat.

Messengers[edit]

Messengers can be encountered from the very beginning to the end of the game, but they usually don’t come in groups. They are fast, and the very first one you meet will be quite tough for the starting character so he can be treated like a sub-boss.

Messengers always drop some messages (so much for their names). Later in the game they also drop their hats – the best headgear in the game.

Minervan Harpy[edit]

They can fly but that fact doesn’t change anything – they can still be hit with melee weapons. They don’t have any special abilities, high stats or resistances.

Mirelurk[edit]

You’ve seen one of these lizard-men when you were picking your character and maybe you play as one. They are quick and agile, but rather weak anyway. Their strong side is that they always come in big groups. If you see a mirelurk, get prepared to meet his brothers in arms.

Murk Elemental[edit]

These are water elemental covered in dirt and mud. Don’t be fooled by their itty-bitty health bar – murk elementals are very resistant to physical damage and require a lot of hits to be killed. Magic is fine against them, except for fire-based spells.

Packrat[edit]

This enemy can be encountered only once in the whole game in a secret place easy to miss.

Packrat is very quick, so be prepared, but once you defeat it, you can gather some loot it was guarding.

Quivering Pool[edit]

This enemy is not very strong, but extremely poisonous.

Slog Rider[edit]

These creatures have average stats, so killing one won’t cause you much trouble. The bad thing is that they come in small packs, so it’s hard to find a solitary Slog Rider.

Slog Riders can be found only in the Reed Plain where you can remove walls of grass to make passages. Enemies can’t do that, so make narrow passages to take Slog Riders one by one.

Slither Fist[edit]

They look like snakes with blades in hands instead of their heads. Judging by their looks, they are quick, nimble and agile, and thus resistant to long-ranged combat. Other than that, nothing to be afraid of.

Swarm Maiden[edit]

These enemies are more annoying than dangerous. Their health meter is above average and they are quite skilled in magic, but they are not really quick, so use this weakness to your advantage. Magic of wind and fire does the trick.

Sword Thane[edit]

These are the first kind of foes you’ll encounter in the game. Needless to say, they are the weakest ones. On the last levels of the game you can easily slay a Sword Thane with one or two hits of your sword.

Thunder Demon[edit]

These weird creatures with scary grins levitate in some sort of yoga pose and use thunder magic. Their magical attacks are painful, and they are resistant to lightning magic themselves, but if you happen to approach one, you will find that they are weak in melee combat (just like other mages in videogames).

Tormented Soul[edit]

These enemies like to say “Die, intruder, for I cannot”. That’s a lie: They can die and they do it pretty easy due to their low health value. They are resistant to magic, but killing them with magic seems to no biggie. Tormented Souls are also immune to basic weapons, but reaching them means that you have already obtained a few strong swords, axes and other weapons, so there is no point of using weak weapons against them.

The most dangerous and annoying thing about Tormented Souls is that they have bows and constantly shoot at you from the distance. Level design helps them to shoot arrows from afar. Moreover, you will fight Tormented Souls in narrow corridors, so you won’t usually have space to maneuver.

Void Monk[edit]

These clay creatures with transparent tattoos are really weird. They tumble while moving and attack with kicks, displaying an amazing agility. When they perform an attack, you have little time to dodge, and they counterattack really fast.

Despite all that, it takes them much time to perform a regular attack. You can deliver about 4 unsuccessful strikes until a Monk will try to hit you back. With resistance to magic and nice amount of health points Void Monks are really tough enemies.

Will-O-Wisp[edit]

These enemies are not bloodthirsty unlike other foes. However, it’s better to get rid of them just in case.

They attack with the magic of fire. After you hit Will-O-Wisp, you will see a very long damage receiving animation. When it ends, you will be instantly counterattacked, so use dodging trick to get out of the harm’s way.

Wither Priest[edit]

The stats of Wither Priests are above average, and they can use magic. There’s nothing more interesting to mention about them.

Wyvern[edit]

The fact that these small dragons possess fire magic makes them resistant to it. If you see them spitting green slime on you, you might be confused. Actually, it’s the green flare they breathe.
