Reminder: The screenshots below are taken from the graphically enhanced X68000 versions. The floor setup and solutions are identical to the Famicom and Game Boy Color versions.
This is your first encounter with a Priest of Ur. You may wish to squash him with block 1, but he will eventually return.
Ideally, if you can lead him to the left side of block 1, he will be out of your way for good, but it is very important that you position block one beneath a vine so that you can climb up.
At the top, lift up block 2 so that the block above it falls beneath the exit. Drop down to the platform below, and climb up the fallen block to the exit.
The two Priests of Ur on this stage will become very annoying very quickly unless you find a way to prevent them from reaching the upper level. Quickly climb up the vine, and place block 1 directly over the vine to prevent the priests from following you.
Climb over block 1, and pick up block 2. Turn around and situate it immediately to the right of block 1 so that you can climb over either block.
Begin to carry the two remaining blocks on the right to the left side and complete the left staircase to the left exit. (Either exit is acceptable, but the left one takes less time.)
This stage is deceptively simple. Pick up block 1, and fall immediately to the left. Block 1 will return to its former position and you will fall harmlessly to the exit.
Begin by lifting block 1 and toss it over the left side of the platform. It will stack on top of block 3 and begin forming a staircase.
Walk over to block 2, and toss it over to the right. Fall down, pick it up, and toss it over to the left. Repeat these steps back and forth until the block has landed on the lowest level with the staircase.
Add block 2 to the end of the staircase so that you can reach the floating cloud on the left. Wait until the cloud is rising before jumping on it. If you jump on while it's dropping, the spikes on the floor below will kill you. Ride the cloud to the top and climb the vine to the exit.
Drop off the left side of the platform. Pick up block 1 from the left and carry it down to the bottom of the stairs. Squash the priest if it gets in your way.
Drop block 1 to the immediate right of the bottom block of the staircase. Then climb over it and pick it back up from the right.
Carry the block all the way to the top of the stairs and deposit it on the top in order to reach the vine, and climb up to the exit.
You will have to deal with two Priests of Ur while completing this floor. They will descend the newly formed staircase to reach you. When they are two blocks away from you, lift up the block above you, causing the priests to fall through the gap.
Return the block as soon as possible in order to prevent the staircase from falling apart. If it does, you'll have to sacrifice a life (press or simply fall onto the spikes) in order to start over.
When you reach the top, pick up the J block, turn around, and carry it down to the bottom of the stairs. Squash the priests on the way if you have to. At the bottom, place the block in the inside corner of the bottom step, climb over the block, and pick it up from the other side.
Carry the block all the way up to the top in order to reach the exit. This is an easy stage to earn a Jewel for killing many priests, or a shooting star for juggling a priest on top of a block that you are holding.
This is the first stage that requires a password to enter from the title screen.
Another simple floor hides a symbol that you'll need to see in order to unlock the Big Password at the end of the game. Open the spoiler below to learn the reveal method.
After you've figured out the symbol, lift up the block and carry it over to the exit. Place it beneath the door and climb up to escape.
