Area 1[edit]

Once the Star Fighter reappears at the bottom of the screen (at its original size, for a penultimate time), two Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen while two groups of four Kurage zigzag towards you on the left and right sides of the screen; once you fire enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen while a Spy Ship from the original Bosconian arcade game flies down in the centre of the screen, then flies back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the bottom - and if you fail to fire enough red shots at the Spy Ship to kill it before it does so, a Cosmo-Mine will come flying down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen, then explode into eight pieces of shrapnel, which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive. A fifth Barrier will then come floating down towards you on the right side of the screen while a group of six Ika comes flying down towards you in a straight line while firing some slow-moving projectiles at you on the left side of the screen; once you've fired out enough red shots at each of these, to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of (and on the right side of) the screen, while two more Spy Ships come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen - the one on the left side of the screen will fly back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the bottom, while the one on the right side of the screen will fly to the left once it has reached the bottom, and fly back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the left side. As with the first one, if you fail to fire enough red shots at either of the Spy Ships to kill them before they do so, up to two more Cosmo-Mines will come flying down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen, and explode into eight more pieces of shrapnel which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive; three more Barriers will then come floating down towards you on the left side of, in the centre of, and on the right side of the screen, while a group of six Tiara comes flying down towards you from the top-right corner of the screen and retreats once it has seen you while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you've fired off enough red shots at all of these, to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen - and once you have fired enough red shots at both of them to kill them, three more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left side of, in the centre of and on the right side of the screen while a group of six Tonbo comes flying down towards you on the right side of the screen and retreats once it has seen you while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you fire enough red shots at each of these to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you, in the centre of, and on the right side of the screen; once you fire enough red shots at all of these, to kill them, switch to the yellow firing pattern, as two more Barriers come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen while a group of four Choucho comes flying down on the left side of the screen and closes in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at it. Once you have fired enough yellow shots at each of them, to kill them, switch back to the red firing pattern as a twentieth Barrier floats down towards you on the right screen side while two Owashi come flying towards you in straight lines and 90-degree turns - and once you've fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen while two more Owashi fly towards you in straight lines and 90-degree turns - and once you fire enough red shots at each of these to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at both of them to kill them a twenty-fifth Barrier will come floating down towards you on the right side of the screen while two more groups of four Kurage zigzag towards you on the left and right sides of the screen; once you fire enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you in the centre of and on the right screen side, while a fourth Spy Ship comes flying down in the centre of the screen and flies back up off the top of the screen once it reaches the bottom. As with the other three, if you fail to fire enough red shots at the Spy Ship to kill it before it does so, a fourth Cosmo-Mine will fly down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen and explode into eight more pieces of shrapnel which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive - and two more Barriers will then come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen while another group of six Ika comes flying down towards you in a straight line while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you on the left side of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at each of these, to kill them, a thirtieth Barrier will come floating down towards you on the right side of the screen; once you fire enough red shots at it to kill it, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you, in the centre of and on the right side of the screen, while two more Spy Ships fly down on the left and right sides of the screen. The one on the left side of the screen will fly back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the bottom, while the one on the right side of the screen will fly to the left once it has reached the bottom, and fly back up off the top of the screen once it reaches the left side - and as with the other four, if you can't fire enough red shots at either of the Spy Ships to kill them before they do so, up to two more Cosmo-Mines will fly down over the Star Fighter's current position upon the screen and explode into eight more pieces of shrapnel, which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive. Two more Barriers will then come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen, while another group of six Tiara comes flying towards you from the top-right corner of the screen, and retreats once it has seen you while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you fire enough red shots at each of them to kill them, a thirty-fifth Barrier will come floating down towards you on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired enough red shots at it to kill it, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen - and once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at both of them to kill them, a fortieth Barrier will float down towards you on the right side of the screen while another group of six Tonbo comes flying down towards you on that same side of the screen and retreats once it has seen you while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired out enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen while a seventh Spy Ship comes flying down in the centre of the screen, flies to the left once it has reached the bottom, and flies back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the left side. As with the other six, if you fail to fire enough red shots at the Spy Ship to kill it before it does so, a seventh Cosmo-Mine will come flying down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen and explode into eight more pieces of shrapnel which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive. Two more Barriers will then come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen while three more Owashi come flying towards you in straight lines and 90-degree turns - and once you fire enough red shots at all of them, to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen. Once you fire enough red shots at both of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen, as three more Owashi make their way towards you in straight lines and 90-degree turns; once you have fired enough red shots at each of them, to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you in the centre of and on the right side of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at each of these, to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen as two more groups of three Tonbo come flying down towards you on the left and right sides of the screen, and retreat once they have seen you, while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you - and once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at both of these, to kill them, two more Barriers will float down towards you, in the centre of and on the right side of the screen; once you've fired enough red shots at both of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen, while two groups of three Teraji come flying down towards you from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen, while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you fire enough red shots at each of them to kill them, a fifty-ninth Barrier will float down towards you in the centre of the screen while a Big Bae approaches you from the top of the screen - and once the Big Bae sees you, it'll fire three bullets south-west, south-east, and directly ahead of itself at you before retreating off the bottom of the screen. Once you fire off enough red shots at both of these to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left and right sides of the screen while two more groups of three Teraji come flying down towards you from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you've fired enough red shots at each of these to kill them, three more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen while another Big Bae approaches you from the top of the screen - and once the Big Bae has seen you, it will fire three bullets south-west, south-east and directly ahead of itself at you before retreating off the bottom of the screen. Once you've fired off enough red shots at each of these to kill them, a sixty-fifth Barrier will come floating down towards you in the centre of the screen while two more groups of three Teraji come flying down towards you (from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen) while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you, on the left and right sides of the screen, while a third Big Bae approaches you from the top of the screen - and once the Big Bae has seen you, it will fire three bullets south-west, south-east and directly ahead of itself at you before retreating off the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired off enough red shots at each of these to kill them, two more groups of three Teraji will come flying down towards you from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, a fourth Big Bae will approach you from the top of the screen. Once it has seen you, it will fire three bullets south-west, south-east and directly ahead of itself at you before retreating off the bottom of the screen - and once you fire enough red shots at it to kill it the background will start scrolling down towards the world's space base as three more Barriers float down towards you on the left side of and in the centre of the screen. Once you fire enough red shots at all of these, to kill them, a seventy-first Barrier will float down towards you in the centre of the screen, while two more groups of three Teraji come flying down towards you from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen while firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you've fired enough red shots at all of them to kill them, two more Barriers will come floating down towards you on the left and right sides of the screen while a fifth Big Bae approaches you from the top of the screen. Once the Big Bae sees you, it'll fire three bullets south-west, south-east, and directly ahead of itself at you, before retreating off the bottom of the screen - and once you fire enough red shots at the Big Bae and both of the Barriers, to kill them, the Star Fighter will proceed onto this world's second area. It's also worth noting that this world's space base looks like two giant gold Bosconian bases joined together.

Area 2[edit]

Once the Star Fighter has reappeared at the bottom of the screen, switch to the green firing pattern, as ten regular and ten Green E-Type Missiles come flying down towards you from the top of the screen; as with your second and third encounters with them, in the third and fourth worlds, the Green E-Type Missiles will split into three E-Type Missiles, once they have seen you, which will only give you twenty more Green E-Type Missiles to deal with this time. Once you have fired a green shot at each of these to kill them, switch back to the red firing pattern, as you come to a formation of one No Launcher, five Blue Missile Launchers and two Red Missile Launchers which are guarding the entrance to the world's space base - and once again, you'll not only have another chance to destroy the "No" that the No Launcher will be firing at you for 100 extra points apiece but you will also have another chance to destroy the "Missiles" that the Missile Launchers will be firing at you, for 50 extra points apiece as well. However, it is yet again advisable to keep moving around the screen in order to avoid being overwhelmed by them; once you have fired enough red shots at the No Launcher, the five Blue Missile Launchers and the two Red Missile Launchers to kill them, the Star Fighter will proceed to the world's third and final area and undergo a fifth and penultimate significant increase in size. This'll also be the first third area since that of the second world to feature indestructible scenery that can kill the Star Fighter on contact.

Area 3[edit]

Once the Star Fighter reappears at the bottom of the screen (at its larger size, for a penultimate time), make sure you stay in the centre of the screen, so that you do not fly into either of those irregularly-shaped indestructible red-lined walls on the left and right sides of the screen; once you pass through the gap between the first indestructible red-lined wall on the left side of the screen and a third rectangular indestructible red-lined wall on the right side of the screen, you'll come up to a Robot Gun, which is firing some slow-moving projectiles at you from its position on the left side of the screen. Once you have fired off enough red shots at it to kill it, switch to the yellow firing pattern as you come to four more Robot Guns which are firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions on the left and right sides of the screen - and once you have fired enough yellow shots at each of them to kill them, make sure you move to the left side of the screen, as you come to two White Tanks and four more Robot Guns which are firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions between the aforementioned first indestructible red-lined wall on the left side of the screen and a fourth rectangular indestructible red-lined wall on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired enough yellow shots at each of these to kill them, make sure you stay in the centre of the screen as you are passing through the gap between the two aforementioned indestructible red-lined walls and come to two more White Tanks and two more Robot Guns that are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positionings between two more rectangular indestructible red-lined walls on the left and right sides of the screen; once you have fired enough yellow shots at both of these, to kill them, make sure you stay in the centre of the screen as you are passing through the gap between those two aforementioned indestructible red-lined walls and come to four more Robot Guns which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you, from their positions between two more rectangular indestructible red-lined walls in the centre of and on the right side of the screen. You will then have to switch back to your red firing pattern, then move to either the left or right side of the seventh rectangular indestructible red-lined wall in the centre of the screen (the best choice is the former) - and once you have fired enough red shots at both of the Robot Guns on whatever side of the seventh indestructible red-lined wall you've chosen to kill them, you'll come to four more Robot Guns which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions below a ninth irregularly-shaped indestructible red-lined wall on the left side of the screen. Once you fire enough red shots at each of them to kill them, make sure you move to the right side of the screen, as you come to two more White Tanks and two more Robot Guns which are firing some more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions below the aforementioned ninth indestructible red-lined wall on the left side of the screen and a tenth rectangular indestructible red-lined wall on the right side of the screen; once you've fired enough red shots at each of these to kill them, you'll come up to two more Robot Guns, which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions between two more rectangular indestructible red-lined walls on the left and right sides of the screen. Once you fire enough red shots at both of these to kill them make sure you stay in the centre of the screen as you are passing through the gap between the two indestructible red-lined walls and come to two more White Tanks and two more Robot Guns which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions on either side of a thirteenth indestructible square red-lined wall in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired enough red shots at each of these to kill them, make sure you move to the screen's left side as you pass the aforementioned thirteenth indestructible square red-lined wall, and come to two more Robot Guns which are firing off more slow-moving projectiles at you from their position on either side of a fourteenth indestructible square red-lined wall on the left side of the screen. Once you fire enough red shots at both of these to kill them, make sure to stay in the centre of the screen as you pass the aforementioned fourteenth indestructible square red-lined wall on the left side of the screen, and a fifteenth one on the right side of the screen, before you come to two more Robot Guns, which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions on either side of a sixteenth indestructible square red-lined wall in the centre of the screen; once you fire enough red shots at both of them to kill them, make sure you move to the right side of the screen as you pass the aforementioned sixteenth indestructible square red-lined wall in the centre of the screen and come to a thirtieth Robot Gun and a ninth White Tank which are firing off some more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positioning between two more irregularly-shaped indestructible red-lined walls on the left and right sides of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at both of these to kill them, make sure you stay in the centre of the screen and switch to the yellow firing pattern again as you pass through the gap between the two indestructible red-lined walls then come up to three more Robot Guns which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from their positions between the two same indestructible red-lined walls on the left and right sides of the screen - and once you've fired enough yellow shots at each of them to kill them, make sure you move to the right side of the screen, then switch back to the red firing pattern again as you come to a tenth White Tank which is firing more slow-moving projectiles at you from its position on the left side of the screen. Once you've fired enough red shots at this one to kill it the game's "boss" theme will begin to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for the fifth and penultimate time, as world's boss character comes down from the top of the screen and its two protective cannons emerge from the trapdoors on the left and right sides of it; the boss will now start moving to the left (and to the right once it reaches the left side of the screen) while firing two white balls diagonally ahead of itself and one fast-moving laser similar to those that were fired by the White Beam Guns in the fourth world directly ahead of itself at you, while its protective cannons will start to fire even more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at both of the protective cannons to kill them the boss will stop firing for a few seconds - and as with the bosses of the four previous worlds, this'll give you a chance to destroy the three shielding devices that are circling around it, before it starts firing again. Once you fire enough red shots at the boss itself to kill it (for a fifth and penultimate time it changes its colour from blue to yellow to red when hit), any of its balls and lasers that were currently on screen will explode and the Star Fighter will proceed to escape from the space base just before it blows up and travel on to the next (and last) world; you'll then receive a 20000-point bonus for destroying the world's space base, and the Star Fighter will be returned to its original size just before the next time it reappears at the bottom of the screen, in the first area of the sixth and final world. Are you tough enough to go all the way?
